Mike Huckabee Warns Christians Voting Obama Will Go To Hell [Video]

Mike Huckabee Christians Hell Vote Obama Face Eternal Damnation

Mike Huckabee has said Christians who vote for Obama will head straight for hell.

The 57-year-old talk show host’s latest ad campaign urges Christians to consider numerous factors when voting including jobs, taxes, and the economy. But the biggest issue, according to Huckabee? The “not negotiable” question of abortion and “family values.” Over to you, Mike:

“Many issues are at stake, but some issues are not negotiable: The right to life from conception to natural death.

“Marriage should be reinforced, not redefined. It is an egregious violation of our cherished principle of religious liberty for the government to force the Church to buy the kind of insurance that leads to the taking of innocent human life.”

Next, Christians are warned what lies in wait for them should they choose to vote Obama on November 6 (spoiler: it’s a lot worse than potentially losing your job):

“Your vote will affect the future and be recorded in eternity. Will you vote the values that will stand the test of fire? This is Mike Huckabee asking you to join me November 6th and vote based on values that will stand the test of fire.”

So that’s all sorted. Any Christians out there who are also intending to vote Obama? Let us know your feelings about Huckabee’s claims.

Yeah…they are until they get into positions of power and start forcing the rest of us to live under the dogma that they got to chose for themselves….

  2. Cynthia Gaedy Davidson

Any INTELLIGENT Christian knows that you're not going to go to hell if you vote Obama. If anything, it's the exact OPPOSITE!

  3. Mary Ann Frizzell Getz

I cant Believe That He Said ThAt… People Listen! If you are A child Of God And Saved By his Grace…. You Will not go to Hell! Period… EVER…. He Had better Check His Salvation…….

I am a 57 year old preacher as well. And, I know that to ascribe either political party in this country as righteous is hypocritical at best and a lie at worst. If Mr. Huckabee believes voting democrat will send you to hell, tell him to READ Matthew 25:31-46 and James 5:1-6 and see where voting the republican ticket will get you.

organized religion is corrupted and always has been. Jesus came to do away with organized religion, many times did he tell the pharisees that. Remember that Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well that it mattered not where one worshiped. It's not where and when one does that God cares, it is when it is done from the heart, alone and personal that is true without showy display. Does not matter if you are part of a religion or not. The Heart does not lie. These two tongued politicians know nothing about God or worship or morality. Don't judge, don't tell people to live a certain way because no one is living the way God wants otherwise we wouldn't need the Grace of God to be Righteous in his eyes. We fall short everyday till the dust we become again.

Anyone who believes that there religious leader sits on the bench of judgement with Jesus and is equal to him is a blasphemer period point blank and that is what the Mormon religion teaches that there leader was the American savior and or the continuation of Jesus Christ through another individual, but you do not replace the son of god nor can you do so in any way. So for this statement alone trying to shade a political race in the favor of someone who will admit straight and to your face that they do not claim Jesus as there savior and that Jesus was the sole son of god that person will burn in the fires of hell most definitely with no forgiveness. The Mormon religion is not Christian and anyone who claims it to be so is by default a sinner and by realism a higher level sinner as Mormon is taught of in any school of theology as a cult which it is by definition. As far as it all goes I would state that the Mormon, JCLDS etc is worse than Muslim as far as it being blasphemy to believe and practice because even the Muslim religion teaches that Jesus is the son of god where the Mormon religion falsely teaches that there own founder is as well equal to if not directly another son of god.

So now that you are all fired up, just where in his ad did he say Christians are going to Hell? Just because the Headline said it doesn't make it true. Any true Christian knows that we also face a judgement when we die and that is on our works here on earth and that includes our choices we make as Christians. All our works will be tested in the fire and the bad will be burned up and the good will withstand.

I sometimes think that most 'Christians' are like all Liberals. They cannot investigate the truth for themselves they just go along with what they are told. This is truley dangerous. Stop being ignorant and not only investigate for yourselves, but actually listen to what someone is saying rather take other opinions on what they said.

Huckabee, simply put, is another fear monger much like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. As middle aged white relisgious extremist males, they are afraid of anyone or anything that does not look like or behave like they do. The unbelievable amount of lies these religious leaders and the GOP machine are cranking out is astounding. They really do prey on peoples fear, period.

  9. Michael W. Carroll

Mike Huckabee is one desperate, over-the-top preacher. His remarks are totally uncalled for and will damage his personal reputation. Huckabee's remarks only reenforces my position in the belief of separartion of church and state. Huckabee will be the one to answer to God for his unchristian remarks.

  10. Carol Horn

Thank you Rev Smith. It's tough to fight dumbness, but your comment is great. The religious right is getting very close to the Taliban.

  11. Jan Lenhart

Uh, are you judging, Robert? Everyone has an opinion, for sure, but we are to pray for those people. You don't want them to go to hell, do you? God loves them, too. People make their own choices to accept Jesus or reject Him. Don't you think that one day they will face God with the choices they made in this life? So will I, and so will you. I know one thing. the Bible says to Watch and Pray. Right? That is what I must do.

  12. Anonymous

people are really taking this election too far, wish it has come and gone.

  13. Jan Lenhart

Mary Ann, you misinterpreted him. Ask God to show you what he meant. You musn't judge, dear. Just pray for truth. You will be guided through faith, according to God's Word, don't you think?

  14. Kathy May

What an idiot, he must be a closet Taliban trying to put fear in those who don't think like him. Even sadder, people who actually believe his crazy thoughts.

  15. James Jackson

Asshole Huckabee is owned by AIPAC and Israel. this guy is the worst piece of shit since hannity and that bitch judge jennie.

  16. Binny Kinny

You're correct–the "headline" is totally false! It's designed for people who just read the large print and don't take time to look at the video.

  17. Billy Jennings

That awkward moment : when you wake up and find you're in hell because you were a bigoted intolerant jackass who used religion as your excuse to be a spiteful hateful asshole

  18. Brian Linblad

However if you are a child of god it would be kinda hard to support vaccuming a baby out of a womans uterus piece by piece. The heart beat rises and it moves all over the place trying to avoid the brutal murder that it can do nothing to escape from. Watch the procedure being done on you tube. If you can do it without tears in your eyes you have no humanity. God will forgive but you have to be remorseful for whatever you are being asked to be forgiven for.

Yes you're right organized religion is corrupted and that's because we are all sinner and hypocrites there's no way around that; however, Jesus never came to do away with organized religion. 1 Corinthians 12:12-26 says:
"12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body-whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it."
There's no way around it scriptures speak truth. Also it says in Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" The only thing that does not lie is the Bible aka the Word of God which is our only source of absolute and complete truth. I am not certain if you are a brother in Christ or not. My goal is only to encourage you not to put you down, but it is vital as professed Christian believer to represent Christ accurately. God bless.

  21. Monica Cutright

He never said if you vote for Obama you are going to hell. It says in the bible the things we do on this earth will be tested by fire. What is not of the kingdom of God will be burned up, the only thing left is what God says is pure and holy. Just look at the commercial, hell was never mentioned.

  22. Jan Lenhart

Naughty boy. You are judging again. You musn't do that. You, too will be judged by our Lord. think about it. God is watching and taking notes. Yeah?

  23. Anonymous

Jan Lenhart@ I want to believe that God has already shown you what he meant. Please can you help us by telling us what God showed you.

  24. Obemeasor Olusegun Abebe

I'm a born again, bible believer christian, and I voted for Obama, the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.Romans 13:1 says "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."

  25. Josh Nuss

He is not saying that people who vote for Obama will go to hell in the least sense. He is talking about the test of fire which is when you pass gold through a fire all the impurities are burned out but the gold will remain pure. He is saying that we should vote for values whose truth will stand through the test of fire (which is purification). They will not burn up as the dross off of the pure does but will stand solid and strong. He is saying that we are building our country with either things that will last (values) or things that will not (greed etc.) and the test of fire is the test that tests with fire the thing built. Read the scripture 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 where what he is talking about comes from: "10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames." Even at the end of the scripture it says that those who choose to build like that will be saved BUT what they built will be lost and that they will suffer the loss of what they built however they will be saved. Not once does Huckabee claim that a Christian voting Democrat will not be saved, he is saying however that despite the differences on well-fare, health-care, taxes, and foreign affairs; Christians should consider their values on human life and the sanctity of marriage as God ordained it when voting. These values are more important and will stand in the end. Please research the actual scripture being used and not assume that because fire was used it means he's saying people will go to hell. This is just an article trying to rile people up against Christians and Republicans only using half of the facts (the only fact actually used was that he used the word fire and that was assumed to mean hell which it did not).

  26. Janice Owens

Nick ur exactly right…..Mike did not say that Christiana r going to hell if they vote for Obama….if u understand scripture @ all u would know that he is talking about our lives ,works, what we do down here will be tried & put to the test so as by putting metal or whatever in the fire ..He's speaking of our standing before God & being judged on our lives!! The media always blows everything out of proportion..always making the righteous people look bad! Nick ur sooo right when u said people need to investigate & really listen to what he is saying…..as a Christian we should know what he is talking about here…..the 1st time I listened…I said….he is not saying that Christians are going to hell over this!he's a Baptist preacher….most Baptist except for a few denominations believe in eternal security of the believer…Mr. Huckabee does…he's Southern Baptist…Thx Nick…..u told it just like it means!Study to show thyself approved unto God…..a workman who needs not to be ashamed!Learn people ..the media just wanted to make people angry & him to look bad among Christians & other voters!!Thought it is a great ad!!Reminds us of our life as we're going to be judged by God one day!!!

  27. Jan Lenhart

Hey, Michael, so will you answer to God for judging. That is wrong according to the Bible. think about what you are saying. It is so easy to judge. We don't know Mike H. so we must not judge him. Pray for him. I am on his side. I think he is a precious Christian man. time will tell.

  28. Kathy Thomas

I agree with you. It does NOT say you will go to hell if you vote for Obama, it says it will be tested in the fire, as all who are saved through Christ have salvation in heaven, we will stand before God in the second judgment based upon our works. That's is what he is saying. Leave it to the liberal media to lie about what was said.

  29. Jan Lenhart

Kathy, you are judging him. Sin! Saying ugly things about him. Sin! You must be a very unhappy person to say such things about someone. Pray, girl.

  30. Billy Jennings

Just ask the people of Mass, they will tell you don't believe a word Romney says he lies about everything and I don't want the GRAND champion of lying to the American people to run my country. I do believe that somewhere the bible says thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. God gave a brain to think with, mine tells me that if a man will tell any lie( ie: Jeep is taking your jobs to China, Obama is stealing 716 billion from medicare and a ton more) then he'll lie to me about anything . He may even try to tell me that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, oh wait that was the last religious fanatic in the White House, I DON'T WANT THAT MAN RUNNING MY COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!

  31. Josh Nuss

the liberal and atheist agenda does the exact same thing as the Religious Right. If you have a moral code and you don't hope for people to live up to it (not because they are horrible people but because it is better for them) then you don't really believe in that code it's just a nice list to point to. A Liberal in power will fight to make everyone recognize gay marriage or abortion as the right thing as much as a Conservative will fight to have everyone see that gay marriage was not how God designed it and that abortions is murder. Don't be so easy to point the finger.

  32. David Brakebill

Jordan Davenport You claim to hold Libertarian views…why should you care whether or not gay people get married…oh, you meant to say that you are a REPUBLICAN!

  33. Janice Owens

Jan Lenhart…u have it right when u say Mike has been misinterpreted! People & most of the media take everything out of context & blow it up to get a war started between us as Chritians…..they want to sway people away from voting for Romney!!

  34. Billy Jennings

not really people are just getting sick of the religious right trying to push THEIR beliefs on us hell even Mitt Romney doesn't believe as they do

  35. Jan Lenhart

Samp, the Bible states that all will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and give account of himself to God. Just read Matthew 14, and you will get the picture of what we are expected to do and what Christ will do. Does that help? Just believe in the Lord and He ewill reveal His truths to you if you have the faith.

  36. Billy Jennings

I agree 100% Rick if they want to try and campaign from the pulpit then tax their asses!!!!!!!!!!!!Just less you and I will have to pay

  37. Salomeh Ghorbani

Josh Nuss – The problem with your "analogy" is that the liberals believe that ALL should have rights…..No one cares if you don't like gay marriage, but the gays pay taxes are entitled to the same rights as everyone else. You don't have to "recognize" it or even like it….but you do not get to deny rights to other taxpayers.

Same thing with abortion….If you don't want an abortion, then don't get one. The left are not trying to force anyone into anything.

That is the beauty of living in a free country – others can live their lives as they see fit without YOUR permission.

The right's desire to move the power from the individual to the state is just like China.

  38. Melissa Ott Zborovancik

No, it's just the religious right is finally standing for what they believe. We have put our heads in the sand too long. We need to stand on God's truth and if that offends you then I think you need to pray that God reveals His truth to you. Someday this world will pass and all we will have then, is what we have put our faith in.

  39. Kenneth A Couey Jr.

I'm not going to judge Mr. Huckabee on what he may have said. But the Word of God says in Galatians 6:7 – For whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap. For he who sows to the flesh (sexual immorality, abortion, pornography, arrogance, selfishness, pride, murder, rape, thievery, etc.) shall of the flesh reap destruction. That is what is happening in America. We cannot turn away from God and godly principles and expect Him to be blessed. Psalm 33:12 – Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord… And I'm not talking about religion. True Christianity is NOT a religion, it is a relationship with Jesus Christ. If a person, Christian or otherwise, stands (votes) for those who support immorality, abortion, and particularly those who stand against the nation of Israel we will reap judgment. All the events that have happened to America in the last few years have been because of our turning away from God and our government standing against Israel. (i.e., the so-called Perfect Storm in 1999, 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Irene, the record tornado outbreak in 2011 that destroyed Joplin, MO, and Tuscaloosa, AL, Hurricane Sandy, etc.) These events were not just coincidences, as everyone of them were described as "record" events. God did not bring these things on America, but He did let them happen. He keeps trying to get our attention. So back to Mr. Huckabee's statement. I don't believe people go to hell for voting incorrectly, but once again they will reap judgment for standing against godly principles. John 3:18 – Whoever believes in him (Jesus) is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. One thing that the Lord has taught me recently, that Abraham was a pagan. He worshipped the moon. But God use him mightly to bless the nation of Israel. Mormonism is also considered a pagan religion, but I believe that even though Romney was raised Mormon, that his heart is soft enough where God can use him to bless America again. Folks be wise in who you vote for, because America' future is at stake! For those of you who claim to be a Christian, pray before you vote and get God's perspective. May God continue to bless America.

  40. Billy Jennings

And Melissa what God are you talking about the one we worship or Mitt's ? You do know that they aren't the same unless you too believe that God is in human form living on the planet Kolab with his many wives!

  41. Gail Felts

To Melissa…First of all, I want you to know, I am a christian and love God and the Lord Jesus with all my heart and soul. I want to ask you, Have you read the Constitution of the United States? Specifically, the first amendment? This nation was founded to get away from the religious OPPRESSION of the Church of England, wasn't it? My wish for PEACE and LOVE is that people like you, practice your faith with great passion in your personal life and beliefs…and realize that government was framed for the religious protection of that freedom. And for the equality of all citizens….not just some! Church is church….the government SHOULD NOT be church. The framers of the United States Constitution wanted to ensure that no one sect could ever seize control of a government and start a theocracy, and your comment very much sounds like that is what you want for this country. Morals are very personal. God gives us ALL free will to make decisions for ourselves. Why must YOU want ALL people to live by YOUR morals? Do you honestly think you are sharing Jesus' love by your attitude? If we all lived by your morals, then why would any of us need God's grace?

  42. Melissa Ott Zborovancik

But see the Taliban kills those who don't believe as they do. In our country the religiuos right believes in the right to liife. I find it ironic that the liberals want to equate the religious right with the Taliban when they (liberals) think that the right to life is a choice. That murdering a baby because it is not wanted sounds pretty close to how the Taliban sees it.

  43. Anonymous

What's even worse, is that there are many people that actually believe in his hate-filled tirade. Christians are so out of touch with reality and the human condition, it's quite scary. They don't even know the origins of their faith are from ancient civilizations and Pagan customs. You want to really spook people out for Halloween/Samhain, hang up pictures of Christian elitists such as Huckabee, that'll do it.

  44. Anonymous

"Hell" is not even a Christian concept, so how are Christains claim to judg where anyone goes? What because it says it in the bible? That little book has been edited, corrupted, mistranslated so many times, it's not funny. The rest are just a bunch of stolen stories from ancient civilizations such as Sumeria/Babylonian/Egyptian.

Christians received their idea of “Hell” from the ancient pagan myths of the Pagan and Nordic underworlds. The term “Hell” that you are familiar with is derived from “Hel”, “and who, or what is “Hel” you ask? “Hel was the daughter of the shape-shifting trickster God “Loki” (the fire God), and of the frost giantess “Angrboda”. She was the rule of the Germanic netherworld, to which she had been banished by “Odin”, the chief master. “Hel” was thought to be terrifying in sight (much like Christians would imagine “Satan” to be) “Hel’s” home is where Christians adopted or stole the myth of “Hell” from.

  45. Billy Jennings

Melissa I'm am totally against abortion except in very few instances yet I don't believe I have the right to tell a woman how to run her life IT'S NOT MY JOB. I not for gays being married but it's not me getting married, hell maybe they don't agree with straights getting married. My point is my Great Great Great Grandfather came to this country to get away from PEOPLE like YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Telling them how to believe whom to believe in. Live your life let me live mine after all it's me who has to answer to God for my actions NOT you.

  46. Billy Jennings

VERY well said Gail and thank you very much it puts it all into proper perspective The right in this country are doing exactly the same as the Taliban are doing in the middle east Trying to force their beliefs on everyone like it or not.

  47. Anonymous

What's even more amusing is that Mahatma Gandhi and Bob Marley, two of some of the most positive, an spiritually loving individuals are, according to Christian rhetoric "rotting" in "Hell" because they weren't "God's" favorite people, apparently they weren't good enough to make the cut. Yea, makes perfect sense. LOL. Come on people really? Get over yourselves.

  48. Darin Claxton

Ummm…what am I missing here? He never said what the headline says he said? Never in the article did I see a quote from him saying that if you voted for Obama you would go to hell. Seems to me like he was encouraging Christians to consider the issues when they vote, which is exactly what my pastor is going to preach this Sunday. Shame on this writer for twisting his comments. Read people, read!

  49. Melissa Ott Zborovancik

Gail we all needs God's grace. That is why He sent His Son to sacrifice so much for us. That to me is more important than any government. And as a Christian don't you think it saddens the heart of God to see how far this counrty has turned away from Him. Since he sacrificed so much for all the world not just our country. I love the Lord with my whole heart. It is not my morals that I am trying to impress upon others. I just think that as a Christian, being compared to the Taliban is completely offensive because it is such a contradiction to what I believe. I am truly not a mean spirited person. I just find it hard to understand that it is ok for others to have perspective but when a Christian gives their perspective we are horrible people.

  50. Darin Claxton

But the problem is two-fold. You can't say that you would be okay with murder as long as it "doesn't affect you". That is not the point. If everyone only looked out for themselves, we would be in real trouble. Secondly, when the government threatens to fund such activities, then it DOES involve my money.

  51. Darin Claxton

I can't believe this writer said that the ocean would dry up next week. That is crazy! (Oh, you can't find it in there? Well, it was right after the quote from Huckabee about Obama voters going to hell. You might have to search a little deeper I guess).

  52. Salomeh Ghorbani

Darin Claxton – So you are trying to compare equality for all to a crime? Or is this that false comparison that a fetus has rights that usurp those of the WOMAN? Your BELIEF that life begins at conception is just htat – a BELIEF…no one else is forced to believe that.

There is a huge difference between the abortion involving a fetus at 10 weeks and a murder of a person. If you can not make that simple distinction then you are beyond reasoning with…but then apparently you think the government pays for abortions despite the Hyde Amendment and million other increasingly restrictive bills passed by the GOP.

  53. Ella Avance

Look who's talking about hell, if he don't go nobody will stop using scare tactics to get votes god is going to get you demon!

  54. Kenneth Merritt

guess there is no such thing as 'Eternal Security' what a freaking joke

  55. Arthetta Rodgers

If God can use Romney, He can use anyone. You said Momonism is considered a pagan religion, which is not of God. In the last debate, the President said that is Israel goes to war we would be right by there side and he considers Israel an ally. Mitt Romney does not want to partner with Israel and doesn't believe we should consider Israel an ally. They both have stances, beliefs, and morals that we don't agree with, but, God can use anyone. Jesuse did not position Himself around perfect people, He dwelled among the sinners and used them. Mormons don't believe that Jesus was born from the Virgin Mary, in fact they say if the Holy Spirit impregnated her then He was a bastard of the Holy Spirit…..this is why we have separation of Church and State….You are correct in some of what you say, but, God uses everyone including sinners.

  56. Pedro Ruiz-Lugo

Where in the HELL did this come up for discussion. Only God and God alone will decide where you will go. We already know who is going to hell; and his name starts with "H". Why is Mr. H. mixing religion and politics; maybe he wants to have a LITTLE distraction going on here. One is a MORMON ( MORON) and the President is a Christion.

  57. Melissa Stusinski

@Jen your statement alone is judging as well. Read your own words. "Naughty boy?" and "dear" in another comment? If you want to judge people, you must first be blameless. Remember this. It makes me sad that people who call themselves Christians can be so condescending and judgmental (when they are scolding someone for judging). Irony?

  58. Melissa Stusinski

:/ You are judging pretty much every comment on this article, Jan. Look at your own words, please.

  59. Bernie Berg

Sir, with all due respect. If you are a born-again believer and you are a Christian, you will vote the Bible. You will support candidates that support life because God supports life. Read Proverbs 6:17. God hates hands that shed innocent blood. There is nothing more innocent than a precious baby in its mother's womb. It should be the safest place for a baby. Unfortunately, since Roe v. Wade became law in 1973, we have slaughtered over 53 million babies in the name of choice and convenience. Abortion is murder. Pure and simple. You can't try to candy coat it, or put lipstick on a pig. God's standards haven't changed. Just like Abel's blood cried out to the Lord, when his brother Cain murdered him. The blood of 53 million babies cries out to the Lord for justice. This president is one of the most pro abortion president's in our history. When he was a state senator in Illinois, he even voted against a bill that would provide babies that survived botched abortions medical attention. The media covered it all up for him. Wake up!! He is a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood which is an abortion slaughterhouse. He supports the partial birth abortion. He appointed 2 Supreme court justices in his first term that fully support Roe v. Wade and abortion. If he gets re-elected, he will again appoint Supreme court justices that support abortion. You will stand before the Lord one day and give an account for voting for a president that fully supports abortion. Do not be deceived! If you really are a Christian, you will vote the Bible. Secondly, this president supports gay marriage. The Bible is very clear that marriage is between and man and woman. (Gen.2:24). I don't have the time or space to go into detail. Just read what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah. Finally, God said in Gensis 12:3, that I will bless them that bless thee, referring to the nation of Israel and curse them that curse Israel. This president says he is pro -Israel, but his actions prove otherwise. He is the most anti-Israel president in my life-time. If America wants the blessing of the Lord upon us, we must stand with Israel and vote into office the most pro-Israel candidate. There are many other issues I could state here, but these 3 are the most important because they are foundational. Let me encourage you. Vote the most pro life candidate, the most pro marriage candidate, and the most pro-Israel candidate. Don't vote your pocket book, or race, or personality, or popularity, or who the main stream media is pulling for, or who Hollywood is endorsing, or who academia is supporting. Vote the Bible. If you are a Christian, you will vote the Bible. You say are a Christian, but Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. I can say all day long, "I am an apple tree". However, if I don't produce apples, I am not an apple tree. Jesus also said, "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers! "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matthew 7:22-24). This is in the Bible. My prayer for you my friend and all who read this is to stand for righteousness and vote the Bible. Because that is how Jesus would vote. He would vote for the unborn. He would vote for traditional marriage, and He would vote for Israel.

  60. Binny Kinny

Your shallowness is showing–watch the video! Headlines are deceiving when they have a political purpose like this one does.

  61. Christina Taulbee DeLaigle

Jan, what YOU don't seem to understand is that you are accusing Michael Carroll of doing what Mike Huckabee is doing. You are touting a double standard. If it's ok for Mike Huckabee to do it, i. e. Christians who vote for Obama will be answered by God with fire, why isn't it alright for Michael Carroll to say the same thing about Mike Huckabee? It's narrowmindedness and tunnel vision that gets my skin to crawling. Yes, I AM a Christian, and I HAVE voted for Obama – TWICE!!

  62. Christina Taulbee DeLaigle

Jan Lenhart Yet YOU judge. Are you above others? Do we need to genuflect to St. Jen? Get yourself straight before you start proclaiming others as unsaved.

  63. Ronald Smith

I don't make the scriptures, but they are available to all who read them. Which scripture did Mike use? Our going to heaven or hell is not based on ANY political party, it's based on our faith in God.

  64. Billy Jennings

Melissa as you say the right aren't killing people ( at least not now lets not forget the crusades) However they are being just as tyrannical in their beliefs that its my way or the Highway. And as a Christian I would think voting for the Christian would be the thing to do, yet you think I should vote for a man who doesn't even believe in the same God as I do . My God is not of human form living on the planet Kolob with his many wives and magic underwear, and I don't believe no matter how righteous of a life I live that I well ascend to being a God as Mitt Romney believes. Nor do I believe as Mitt does that Jesus and Satan are Brothers, Nor do I believe as Mormons that Joseph Smith was or is a more important figure than Jesus Christ. You vote your man I'll vote for the Christian.

  65. Cynthia Martin

And of course Huckabee has a pipeline direct to God and knows exactly what He thinks of Obama and Romney. Vote for whoever you wish, but don't try to drag God in as justification for your choice. Those of you who are devout Christians have been taught that ALL people are sinners, which means that Mitt has no advantage over Obama. If Huckabee were half the Christian he'd like to pretend to be, he'd be out feeding the poor and nursing lepers instead of turning media whore as he's done and piling up millions of dollars.

  66. Mary Enright Coleman

Whoever wrote this is a joke! Huckabee never said you were going to burn in hell. Just because there's a welder and some fire, that's his conclusion? LOL! All he is saying is Christians should stand by their beliefs and vote for whoever reinforces those beliefs.

  67. Melissa Ott Zborovancik

Thru the course of this coversation did I ever tell you who you should vote for? Nor did I say I was a Mitt Romney supporter. My initial remarks were made to the person who called people with my beliefs dumb and Taliban like. I was simply supporting my beliefs. I was not endorsing a canidate. It just seems like eveyone can voice their thoughts and beliefs but as soon as a "religious right winger" voices theirs we get slammed. Where is the fairness in that? I guess it is the freedom of speech and debate that has made our country the great country that it is.

  68. Terence Darby

I normally don't like to tell people to go to hell, but in Mike Huckabee's case I'll make an exception.

  69. Debbie White Rupnick

I am so tired of the hypocritical creatures on the Right. The hypocrisy is worse than all the lies even though they may be the same. All this crazy talk is hurting Romney.

  70. Cynthia Martin

Yes, the candidates that support life. What a frigging joke. How many Republicans voted for the massacres in Iraq? Furthermore, once all these babies you're bleeding for are actually born, what Republican is going to see to it that they have food and shelter, education and health care? Or are you just going to build orphanages and teach them to make Nikes to earn their keep? I don't like abortion; I don't think anyone does. But until we quit telling women to keep an aspirin between their knees, it will be a sad reality.

  71. Way-cool Junior

Once again, the Christian right Taliban tries to enforce its will on the people. Somewhere Jesus is crying over the atrocities committed in His name by people like Mike Huckabee.

  72. Anthony Vet

You know what's so ironic, the men we praise and call the fathers of our country were rapists, racists, thieves, adulturers, liers and slave masters, and may I add "Christians" and yet you never hear anyone stating that these guys are going to hell. "Things that make you go Hmmmm".

  73. Ed Bergquist

What a clown… I don't like Obama or want him in the White House but these kinds of statements are just stupid…… I've never trusted this guy…..

  74. Kenneth A Couey Jr.

Based on what I've read, I don't belief that Romney would stand against Israel or that he doesn't consider Israel an ally. But unfortunately, as is often the case, statements/beliefs espoused by a candidate/politician are not always specific or clear. I do think he would be a much better friend to Israel than Obama. Obama's actions concerning Israel have spoken much louder than his words. Recently, he has refused to even meet with Netanyahu, which is in my opinion shows a lack of respect and honor, particularly toward a head of state. God's word is specific concerning Israel; He will bless those who bless Israel, and He will curse those curse Israel. A perfect example of that is when Obama publicly told Israel that they had to return to the 1967 borders. Within a couple of days, the US, as a nation, had probably the worst tornado outbreak in history. The one which destroyed Joplin, MO and Tuscaloosa, AL. God is serious about the nation of Israel. With regard to the "so-called" separation of church and state, the devil is deceiving lawyers, judges, and politicians into using the 1st Amendment against Christians. They like to conveniently use the 1st part of the amendment as their justification, but never get to reading the 2nd part. 1) "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, 2) or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." And it goes on to say, "or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. In this particular election, we unfortunately, don't have two ideal candidates to chose from, so we must be sensitive to what God says about it.

  75. Anthony Vet

From Huckabees definition every last one of our founding fathers are going to Hell with a gasoline cape on LMAO

  76. Randy Marlowe

Oh WOW! I always thought that God, or Jesus or maybe St. Peter would determine if I was going to Hell. Now it turns out that it is some right wing wacko in Arkansas. Guess I better pack for warm weather.

  77. Deena Duda

sometimes i think this kind of stuff is some wierd nightmare, only to realize it's actually true conversation that is being had. how come the most hateful bigotted people hide behind Christianity? it's very disturbing.

  78. David Consoer

Would you welcome the call to a conservative Lutheran church in NW Iowa? Chances are I would be the the only one voting for you but you would definitely have that one!

  79. Kimberly Starr Souter

Huckabee most certainly does NOT say that Christians will go to Hell. Hell has nothing to do with what he says. He says that a vote against biblical principles will be tested in the "fire." By "fire," he is not referring to Hell's fire. He is referring to God's fire of Judgment. All Christians will stand before Christ and give an account for what they have done with the opportunities that God has given them. Deeds that are unworthy will be burned up in the fire. All of this is in Scripture!

Bible-reading Christians would likely never misunderstand what Huckabee is saying. If they do, it is because they have misinterpreted or skipped over 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 and 2 Corinthians 5:10!

  80. Becky Minton

I do love Mike H. and yes we will be held accountable for our decisions.

  81. Anonymous

Huckabee is the perfect excuse for more Abortions , and creepy Akin to , they remind me of child molesters.

  82. Doug Estelle

This guy is bat shiiiit crazy. Anyone believing in something that has no evidence of existence should be locked up because they can affect other people succeptable of believing in the same ludicrous stuff. It's called a buybull people. Churches should be taxed just like other organizations. Religious people are protected by the constitution to practice their belief but they shouldn't be free from taxation. I would love to see how long these crutches, I mean churches, would last if they had to fork out more money. Don't get me wrong, I don't care if you want to worship frogs, I just don't like it when idiotic beliefs in mythical beings finds its way into our politics. Oh, and one more thing since I'm on a roll, keep you creationism the heck away from our kids. Let them make up their own minds when they get older.

  83. David Morris

Just like it none of your business who has the procedure or none of your business is same sex couples marry. Redumlicans always talk about smaller government, but when the rubber hits the road they want to expand the governments role in our personal lives. Mike Huckabee just proved he is not a man of God, only a man of Mitt.

  84. David Morris

You are wrong Josh! He clearly said your vote will be recorded in eternity, implying anyone who votes for the president will be damned.

  85. David Morris

Yep, voting for President Obama. Mitt Romney has changed positions more than a porn start and can't even tell the truth about Jeep. Mittens idea of disaster relief is to clean up a football field after a celebration. Christians should think twice before voting for a cult member anyways.

  86. Alice Rogers

Typical reporting from the left. Having said that, I love you for your 'fire' for the truth.

  87. Karen Ayers Clark

Melissa, I wholeheartedly agree. The judgmental condescending self-righteousness from Jan Lenhart is an embarrassment to Christianity. Regarding the presidential election–we are not electing a pastor; we are electing a president. They do not legislate morality. There are too many different religions and belief systems in this country for all to agree with one spiritual leader. Until very recently all evangelicals believed mormonism was a cult, and now they want one as their leader?

  88. Alice Rogers

You tell them Kimberly Starr Souter. This story headline is typical left garbage. They are ignorant of anything the Bible says.

  89. Josh Nuss

incorrect it says it will be recorded in eternity just like everything we do is recorded. In Psalms it talks about how everyday of our lives are recorded in His book before we even have one of them. Also his statement that it is recorded in eternity has no bearing on our salvation. It is simply a fact that what we do is recorded in eternity be it good or bad. There is no evidence to suggest that he means anything more than that. Also the video shows many issues being thrown into the fire not people clearly indicating that it is the issues that will be tested by fire not people being thrown into hell for a vote. What he is saying is to consider your vote and the moral issues that your vote represents much more so than the political issues.

  90. Timothy Willis

I am PROLIFE, I will forever be prolife, when you (abortion rights activists) think that I am gone, I will be here continually pressing back like a spring. This issue will never be settled as long as abortion is legal.

Description of Barack Obama and the Democratic Party and some republicans:There party mandate is a Romans 1 mandate.I think it describes the Culture and them well. 1Ti 1:6 Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion,
1Ti 1:7 desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.
1Ti 1:8 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully,
1Ti 1:9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,
1Ti 1:10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
1Ti 1:11 in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God.

Rom 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith."
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
Rom 1:19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
Rom 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Rom 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Rom 1:22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
Rom 1:25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;.
Rom 1:27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Rom 1:28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
Rom 1:29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips,
Rom 1:30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
Rom 1:32 Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

  93. Katherine Dobay Edmiston

I'd like to know what Huckabee is going to say about the final disposition of Billy Graham, who removed references to "cults" from his website in order to endores Romney. isn't that apostasy? Mormonism is not Christianity; Mormonism denies the divinity of Jesus Christ. Huckabee is a hypocrite beyond all description.

  94. Timothy Willis

going through this life you will always have to make judgements. One doesn't have to wonder about abortion, if you think abortion is ok, stand in and watch while an abortion is being performed.

  95. Josh Nuss

also with regards to the comment on hell, it is very much off topic as far as talking about the actual ad and what Mike Hukabee was saying, but that view is a very naturalistic view of the Bible and falls in line much more with a view of earth as very old with ideas evolving over time rather than Truth being revealed by God to people in a younger earth. I believe that God has protect His word so that it was carefully preserved in it's originality and it is proven to be the most historically unchanged document of all time with thousands upon thousands of manuscripts where as the Oddessy (the next best with hundreds not thousands of manuscripts) is far more unpreserved and changed. It would seem when looking at the manuscripts there has been a great protection (by God) of the scriptures. In regards to hell be from ancient Norse mythology, it does not make sense that the ancient Norse mythology could have had anything to do with a ancient middle eastern theology. The ideas simply would not mingle from that great a distance and even if they did could it not equal be possible that the Norse Hel was derived from the Israeli concept of Hell and Satan?

  96. Katherine Dobay Edmiston

God is going to be a lot harsher on Huckabee, and the lot of social conservatives who amount to nothing more than todays' Pharisees. Jesus forgave everyone, but reserved His most scathing rebukes for Pharisees like many here who feel entitled to sit in judgement on other people. I will pray for you, that your hard hearts are broken. maybe they will break when President Obama is re-elected!
    Obama/Biden 2012
    signed, BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN.

  97. Don Hearn

Romney's grandfather had FIVE wives, and moved to Mexico when it was not okay to have more than one wife in these United States.. And now the right wing wacko preacher, employee of FOX NEWS, tells us we will go to hell unless we vote for Mormon Romney!

  98. Tom Connors

This lard a_ _ is the biggest phony of our time. He will end up in hell for his hatefull garbage! If hes a christian, I'm a concord jet pilot. This self serving make-believe christian, should rot in hell.

Many issues are at stake, but some issues are not negotiable: The right to life from conception to natural death.

Doesn't he also believe in capital punishment?

  100. Carol Graney Dechant

Mr. Huckabee's positions as described in the video beg to be explored: "The right to life until natural death" means that he would be a pacifist, killing or being killed in war certainly not a "natural death." That would have him opposing America's going into Iraq, Afghanistan, even (in retrospect) World War II. His belief in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, and the importance of voting to "reinforce marriage," by extension would have him opposed to divorce, for any reason, since divorce sunders marriage. Am I being too literal here? Isn't Mr. Huckabee a Biblical literalist?

    I'm just sayin',,,,

  101. Karen Isaacs Bell

Not every American is a Christian for starters so tired of that being shoved down our throats. Ever hear of separation of church and state? Whether you like it or not YOU do not have a guaranteed path anywhere after you die. It is more important how you LIVE. As a person who would treat others as you would want to be treated. The golden rule.

  102. Paul Rodney

Mike Huckabee's statement is appalling and deplorable. No one can say someone is going to hell accept God. Who made Huckabee God? There are good people of good will in both parties. I know of some who are voting for Obama who have more of Christ compassion in them than any of these pious self righteous religious right HYPOCRITES. Shame on you Mike Huckabee. You are the kind of pastor that totally turns off many young people to which your glaring HYPOCRISY is the reason they are turned off to the church. Shame on you Mike Huckabee.

  103. William Wood

There is truth and not everything is open to personal interpretation….there is no question that abortion is killing God's children, marriage is defined as a union of one man and one woman, and this country is founded on the principle of religious freedom. Those are truths – and all will be held accountable. If you vote for people who oppose those principles, the record will show you opposed God. Simple as that.

  104. Jake Hoogendyk

Ok, Huckabee did not say you would go to hell if you vote for Obama. There is no such quote. The inquisitr made that statement. Huckabee is simply letting people know that everyone will be judged according to their choices. So, choose righteousness.

  105. Mike Pulliam

It's this type of mindless adherence to religious dogma spouted by Mike Huckabee and Jan Lenhart that inspired the Islamic terrorists to fly into the twin towers…the primary issue that is fueling Huckabee and his sycophants is abortion…please tell me Mike/Jan where in the bible that it addresses abortion?…the answer is that it doesn't…and as far as going to hell if you vote for Obama, Huckabee doesn't actually say that he only infers it but if any of you Christians think there might be something to his claims then go ahead and vote Obama then pray for forgiveness and you will be forgiven…that's what it says in the bible…hey God, your rules not mine!!!

  106. Rosina Rocha Cardenas

Remember one of the commandments "thou shalt not bear false witness against they neighbor"? Thank God He is the ONLY one who will judge!! Seems to me Romney is wayyyyy ahead on this one.

  107. Chris Wright

I think it is unfortunate that the GOP has become loosly branded as a Christian party. I don't think Jesus would cast a vote for a man who believes that by wearing speacial underwear and not drinking caffeine will allow him to become a god. Family values are cherished certainly, but the direction Jesus wants for this country can't be achieved through political legislation.
Also, (I did not watch the video, only read the article) the headline and tone of the article is profoundly misleading and even ignorant of what was actaully said. Huckabee is referencing 1 Corinthians 3:11-15, which clearly says that while the act (or vote) will burn, the person is saved.

  108. Garry Wesp

Atta girl Kimberly! Shows that you are getting a great college/biblical education. You are right on about which "fire" he is referring to. Keep the Faith!

  109. Margaret Burton

TRUTH? WHO AR YOUE TALKING ABOUT THAT LIAR MITT ROMNEY. HE CAN NOT EVEN KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LIES HE TELLS. HE WILL SAY ANYTHING TO SUIT THE MOMENT. GOD IS ONLY ONE WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO JUDGE. WORRY ABOUT YOUR OWN SOUL.

  110. Billy Jennings

The right wing christians have taken it upon theirselves to tell us all how we should beleive and what we should believe in. Much like the Taliban it's thier way or the highway. Barry Goldwater himself a Republican said the worst thing to happen to the Republican party will be when the Christians finally hijack the party as they have because there is NO flexability in thier beliefs. When you have a country with countless religions and over 300 million people there HAS to be compromise we don't all believe in God the same. Just ask Mitt his God is in human form living on the planet Kolob with his many wives and magic underwear. One of the things I find the funniest is that most all right wing Abortion nuts (and by the way I hate abortion as it's becoming another form of birth control) believe abortion is murder and should be outlawed yet most also believe in the death penalty. My point Melissa is live your life let others live thiers, if you support or don't support Mitt that's your business. but infering I'll answer to God for voting Obama is Bullsh**t. My God tells me my sins can be forgivin so I'll take the chance and vote on the man who wants to help this country not line his and his cronies pockets like George Bush did.

  111. Margaret Burton

I AM A CHRISTIAN FIRST WHO IS CATHOLIC. PEOPLE HAVE TO DO WHAT THEIR CONSCIENCE DICTATES. IF GOD WANTS THAT SPIRIT TO BE HERE IT WILL BE; JUST NOT IN THAT BODY. I AM CATHOLIC AND DON'T EXPECT EVERYONE TO FOLLOW OUR DOCTRINE.

  112. Billy Jennings

Now hhat's anew one and one of the funniest things I've ever heard a tornado because Obama said Isreal should go back to the 1967 borders ROFLMFAO

  113. Thomas Jeeslin

I am a believer in Christ and no where in this ad did Huckabee mention that anyone or Christians who vote for Obama will go to hell. The title of this article is VERY misleading. Did Huckabee actually say if we vote for Obama you are going to hell? No, he did mention the test of fire which is no reference to hell at all. This is what was referenced when Huckabee mentioned "stand the test of fire".
1 Corinthians chapter 3, verses 10-15: According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; yet he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Another reference for this is from 2 corinthians chapter 5 and verse 10.

  114. Mary Ann Braswell

Rodney, did you watch the video before commenting? There is no reference to hell, President Obama, or either party, for that matter. The fire is forging iron, making it stronger. I took it that Gov. Huckabee is stressing the importance of considering candidates' stances on the issues before voting.

  115. Billy Jennings

And just when did the govenment say anything about funding abortions? They haven't the right wing nut jobs want to believe thwy will but until they do don't we have enough to worry about? Although they do fund Capital Punishment which I don't believe in and it is my money as you say so stop it!

  116. Alexis Kaiser

Okay, people, this is his opinion. No one died and made him God. I used to like him, but, promoting fire an brimstone, not so much anymore. This turns more people off to Christ than makes people want to follow Hm. It's a shame. Wonder what his feelings are on capital punishment. Well, this is American and we are allowed to make choices, voice opinions and be jerks.

  117. Dave Kerwin

The religious Right IS the American Taliban. Funny thing is they BELIEVE this BS. Going to be disappointed when you turn to "dust" and nothing else!

  118. Oaky Dover

We use the word "quack" for doctors who practice their trade with such terrible abandon as Mike Huckabee is practicing his trade. Is there a word for preachers who act in such a way?

  119. Sylvia Abbott-Bolduc

This is why I stopped going to church when I was a child; the Reverand of our church was preaching fire and brimstone and it gave me terrible nightmares! My grandmother told me, "you don't have to go to church to believe in and talk to God.."

  120. Paul F. Hollop

I've read the article and don't see where he said you go to hell if you vote for Obama,? Unless you didn't print the whole article?

  121. Sheryl Lindsay

He never once said you "would go to hell" — He said our principles should stand
the test of fire. We live in a world that is calling Christian principles into question…and we
must stand up to those who would question and reject those principles. But he never said
a person would go to hell for voting Republican. Quit twisting his words!

  122. Miller T. Miller

So is Mike Huckabee saying that it is better to vote for a guy who was a Bishop from a cult; who's leader got his revelation to build his church and doctrine for Lucifer… or vote for a guy who claims he is a christian that thinks gay folks are OK to get married… you gotta be kidding me… this guy is insane!

  123. Kimberly Starr Souter

Billy, I would not classify blogging online as the same thing as sitting in church. While I do not, and will not, teach over men at church, I believe I am using the talents and experience that God has given me to possibly reach non-believers just as some women did in the NT. Who are you to condemn me for sharing God's truth? Perhaps you might go to God to ask Him why He used women to accomplish His will (ex. Deborah, Dorcas, Euodia and Syntyche, Priscilla, Pheobe, Lydia). Chill out, Billy. Focus on the important issues!

  124. Alice Rogers

Billy you are obviously and angry little man. Get help with your anger issues.

  125. Dan Harper

Where is the "HYPOCRISY" in Gov. Huckabee's statement? I pray that everyone takes the time to learn the "facts" before they go to the polls. Folks, we must look beyond the headlines and seek the truth and God's

Not angry at all but if we are going to try to use the bible against everyone then use it all not just the parts you like. Angry is the Republican party trying to force thier views on the rest of us implying ( and if your're trying to tell me that's not what he was doing you're just plain wrong )that a vote for Obama is against God's plan. My God was a champion of the poor the needy the downtrodden, don't tell me the Republican party are for any of these people, because they aren't. All they want ( just as the Tailban ) is for everyone to fall in line believe just as they believe and nothing else. Sorry I'm not a mindless puppet to be controled by a Lying Moron opps I meant Mormon .

  128. Billy Jennings

I have three daughters and I don't support abortion either but I will tell you if one of them are raped or thier life would be in danger then by all means they need to do whatever it is to help them it's not my body. And where are all you wonderful christian right wing nut jobs going to be if those childern of rape and incess you want to force on everyone start being born to mothers who can't take care of themselves much less a child,. The answer is if you vote for Rmoney nowhere. You just want to force your morals on other no matter the outcome. By the way Alice I take it you don't like those verse's. Too damn bad there in the book. Believe it all or NONE of it.

  129. Alice Rogers

Billy you are so typical of the left. You always resort to name calling and insults. How are Christian's trying to force their views anymore than the left forces their views on the world. Seriously, you just want to argue and you are in over your head.

  130. Billy Jennings

Alice I'm quite sure you're a Romney supporter. So how do you reconcile Mitt's beielfs with your own? God lives on the planet Kolob with his many wives and magic underwear, Jesus and Satan are brothers you too can become a God if you live your life right Piss on the poor the needy the sick the downtrodden. am I missing anything? Unlike YOU I want a Christian in the White Hosue Not a Cultist ( by the way until he backed Romeny that's exactly what Billy Graham called Moroms, not me)

  131. Kimberly Starr Souter

I'll start by stating that I am not at all insulted by you insinuation that I cannot come to my own conclusions, but am under the spell of the evil conservatives. Political party has nothing at all to do with how I vote. I vote based on logic, prayer, and most importantly the Word of God. Honestly, I am not happy about voting for a Mormon; however, after prayer I felt that the war that is currently being raged by Satan in this election and in this moment is the war against the life of the unborn and marriage. These are the most important issues at stake. Conservatives are no threat to the poor. Quite the contrary! Who is a true champion to the needy and downtrodden? It is the church and the wealthy, not the government. That's the way it is supposed to be!

Let me ask you, because I am truly curious. Like many, you claim to have a relationship with God, yet you condone abortion and gay marriage. How do you reconcile or justify that? God knit you, Billy, in the womb of your mother, and He breathed life into your lungs. He has an incredible plan for your life. Do you honestly think that it would have been ok with Him if your mother decided to have a Dr. scrape and suck your broken body out of her womb?

  132. Kimberly Starr Souter

Less than 3% of rapes end in pregnancy, and most of those naturally abort. I was raped when I was 23 years old. If I had been impregnated by the rape, then I would have just be a mother of 3 children rather than four. Furthermore, Romney has never said that abortion should NEVER take place.

  134. Mindy Spencer

That was not what Mike Huckabee said. He is speaking to the fact that so many people vote for a certain party without finding out where the party stands on issues important to them. I find it upsetting that so many folks claim to be a democrat or republican without knowing the platform the party stands for. How many democrats are actually aware that when President Obama was a senator he was against taking care of infants that were born during botched abortions. He considers the babies to be an accident of a health care procedure. G.W. Bush signed into law the born alive infant protection act. Facts like that should be considered when you cast your ballot, not headlines twisting the words of Mike Huckabee.

  135. Gail Felts

Melissa Ott Zborovancik Thank you for your clarification….Please know that I am not comparing your beliefs to the taliban. What I think is that you interpret the bible differently than I do. We are both exercising our religious freedom. There will always be people who turn away from the God….That is between them and God. It's complicated with social issues…we do need government intervention to ensure equality to all specifically because of the many different religious beliefs that form 300 million individuals values. I do tend toward being very liberal with social issues. Live and let live, eh? And, by the way, I agree with you about being a christian and speaking out. In my work, I am an alternative health practitioner. There are many buddhists, hindu and metaphysical beliefs in my circle of life. When I speak up as a christian in those circles, I do feel the "hissing" and "contempt" coming towards me sometimes….SO much for the peace, love and brotherhood meditation circle. But I will still speak up, and so should you! With all that said, I am dissappointed in Huckabee….I considered voting for him a few years back….he was quite a charismatic speaker. But, he has really changed since having his own program on FOX. I can't stand to listen to his opinion anymore. It feels like he strives for division, black and white thinking and he's right and I'm wrong attitudes.

  136. Dana Prieto

Mike Huckabee NEVER EVER said voting for Obama will send you to hell. Believe NONE of what you hear especially if from the left wing news and believe only half of what you see. What he did say was that IF you are a christian what you do on earth matters and will be recorded in heaven. So vote for things that matter to Biblical beliefs that is all he was saying. You have to get honest here and learn to listen to what they MAN said not what someone else is telling you to hear. Here is a great book written by a women I know that may help you to get honest. http://www.amazon.com/Stealing-Minds-America-Must-Truth-Seekers/dp/0881443182

@jan; So Matthew 25:31 thru 46 where Jesus was talking is null and void? Jesus cares more about the poor than sins of homesexuality and abortion. Jesus himself quoted Isaiah 61 verses 1 thru 3 in stating what his purpose on earth was. Homesexuality and abortion are sins that can be forgiven of by the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross. The ONLY sin that cannot be forgiven is blasphemey against The Holy Ghost (Luke 12:10) furthermore ONLY Jesus decides who will go to Heaven or Hell. (Romans 9:15 & 16) Romney has said out of his own mouth that "I don't care anything about the poor". There are many scriptures that support the care of the poor namely the stranger, widows and orphans. I dissagree with my wife on many issues but dissagreements with my wife will not cause me to divorce her. I support President Obama because he (Obama) has the intrests of the poor and middle class at heart. I am in the one percent and am willing to pay my share of any tax increase because Jesus Christ is my source. Jesus said that if I seek first the kingdom of God and His right way of doing things all things will be added to me and The Word of God is true! "The poor you will have with you always." So said Jesus Christ. Amen to Pastor Ronald Smith.

  138. Billy Jennings

I don't condone Abortion or gay marrage yet I see many many issues in this election. As for the churches helping the poor where have you been it's a heck of a lot more rare than you must think I have people who work for me and no I have nothing to do with thier wages the state does, yet some of these people have looked to the churches for help only to be told there are no funds. Yet you see churches building bigger and bigger paying preachers rediculous salaries yet nothing there for the poor. No it isn't the churches helping as it should be. And maybe you should read the Republican platform it does call for a ban on abortion and yes Romeny has said he would sign laws doing just that giving fetuses rights. And where are you getting the fact that most end in natural abortion my brother the doctor say's you're very wrong on that one.

  139. Billy Jennings

In fact the one thing that ran me away from the Republican party was thier economic views not the views on abortion or gay marrage. The picture you see of my profile is of my 2 year old daughter that was far from expected since I'm 52 her mother 45 and we were told it would be a VERY risky pregnancy yes an abortion would have made her mother and I's life easier but neither her mother or I believe in them, but we both agree it's not our place to force our views on others. By the way she is the greatest blessing the lord ever gave me. Born at 32 weeks 3lbs 5oz 24 weeks in the Necu, if they hadn't taken her when they did both she and her mother would have died. She is perfect in every way now Praise God. This electtion is about far more than abortion or gay marrage its about people being able to live to support thier families Romney still to this day won't say how he manages to give everyone a tax cut of 20% yet not destroy the budget. Kim just look into the state he govened already he trails there by over 20 points they hate him there he raised over 1000 fees totaling 500,000,000 and who do you think paid those not the wealthy, the middle class did. He took Mass to 47th in the county in job growth and had Katrina not happened it's very likely they would have came in dead last. He still to this day is telling the same old tired lie in Ohio that Jeep will outsource thier jobs to China no matter how much Jeep say's it's a lie. Is this REALLY the kind of man you want in charge of our country at this time. I'm sorry I can't vote a man who Mike Huckabee himself called a pathilogical liar as have every top Republican. (you can find them all doing it on Youtube. If I'm not mistaken my God wouldn't support a pathalogical liar. I could be wrong but I'll answer for that when i meet him. Kim Have a Great day honestly and I am so sorry to hear you were raped God bless you.

  140. Kimberly Starr Souter

Many churches have no funds because people are to lazy or apostate to go! As for large churches and pastor's salaries, it is my guess that you are assuming things that you know nothing about. My church is huge, and my pastor makes a good salary; however, the church gives ABUNDANTLY. For those churches that are not carrying out their mission to the poor, shame on them, and God will deal with them. Giving fetuses rights…what is Romney thinking????
Seriously, a baby inside the womb has the same rights as those outside the womb. What is the difference? 1.3 million babies destroyed a year in the U.S. So, by your logic, we should vote for that many babies to die, just in case some of them are from rape? And as far as my statistics, I got them from a Healthy Sexuality class that I took last semester. My purpose is not to argue with you or anyone else, so I will shake the dust off my feet Bible says.

Vote according to the Bible and let God bless this country because of it. It is a matter of trust in God, not a candidate. The economy is in God's hands. Vote according to Scripture and trust God to take care of the rest. I am truly thankful that God blessed you with your daughter! :-)

Well Kim I'm glad your church does, most don't believe it or not. As Jimmy Swagart once said when asked why he didn't go into music with his cousins Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley " I went where the real money is. If churches want to campaign from the pultpit fine but tax them like everything else. If they want to express thier beliefs like other organizations tax them the same.

  143. Miller T.

  146. Donald Linn

Mr. Huckabee's judgmental and prejudiced rants are antithetical to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christ would be apolitical and tell all of us to love one another- Mike, I love you and forgive you for your whacky preaching that divides and intimidates those who aren't thinking for themselves. Why don't you live your life how you see fit, set a good example, loves those around you, stop judging everyone and quit be so sanctimonious. In closing – – Good day sir.

  147. Gene Ward

I don't believe these were hucks exact words but they may have implied this is a critical time to choose the right canidate.

  148. Gene Ward

the liberals are at it again most people who know they are being scruitnized are very careful how they express themselves. If you believe what the author says, you are more ignorant than the writer!

  149. Warren Jones

Pastor Smith you are absolutely correct in your statement ….most every one on the spaced-out Right condemns all who disagree with them……the Gospel was given to the Church and to the world…..not as a tool of political control for the republican party to hang out every election cycle !Yet those in the religious right fall for it every time…. in fact it is the far–out Right thats completely downplaying or ignoring the cult status of romney"s mormon roots yet raised unholy hell when they (wrongly) accused the President of being a muslim …and some to this day still believe it even now!! including mr huckabee, who stupidly rode that bandwagon also !!Someone please show me in scripture where Jesus passed his Lordship to mike huckabee and the party of the rich and conceited aka republican party or otherwise "they" can in the words of mike huckabee "go to hell . …..em….figurative speaking
    ;-)

  150. Jarvis Johnson

I hope to settle this once and for all, first of all read Romans first chapter verse 23 –32 and if you like foggats–same sex marries—high taxes—communist and all the worldly things then vote for alwa wala boom bang IF YOU ARE A TRUE CHRISTIAN AND DON'T BELIEVE IN THOSE THINGS THEN VOTE FOR ROMMEY and as for this RONALD SMITH find you another line of work because these things is against GODS WAYS. So lets see how smart you are on voting.

  151. Sean Anthony

I am appalled by this AD!!!!! I hope Mr. Huckabee realizes that he must answer to God for this AD himself!!!!!

  152. Melissa Ott Zborovancik

Gail thanks for replying back. I try so hard to keep in check the passion of others. I know for how strongly I believe in my faith others believe in theirs (or not). I agree that a persons relationship with God is solely theirs. It just frustrates me that when a Christian speaks up it is judgement. Let me tell you I have enough garbage in my life I need to be accountable for. I don't want to even try to be accountable for someone else's life. And that is not what I was trying to do with my original comments. I just wanted the person of the orginal comment to look into what I believe so she could clearly make her judgement of most of the religious right(and myself). We are not all a bunch of crazy loons. We just have the same amount of passion as the liberal side in our beliefs. I truly think we all have the best interest of this country in mind. We just have different perspectives and it will always be that way.

  153. Jill Koonz

You go Josh!!! You are right, God has protected His Word and ….."All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." 2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)

I get paid over $87 per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I'd be able to do it but my best friend earns over 10k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Heres what I've been doing, Max14.comCHECK IT OUT.

  155. David Smith

I see this as another empty claim from a Republican. The church has NO business in politics other than to promote Christ's position and his alone, NOT from a Republican standpoint or a Democrat standpoint. To take a partisan position would reduce the church to a political organization.

  156. Billy Jennings

Not over my head Alice you just can't debate a Hard Headed Right wing Nut job. You see Alice as Barry Goldwater himself said, once you Right wing Nut jobs take control of the Republican party the game is over because you see NO compromise it's your way or no way. You're so possitive that you know better than everyone else. This is a country of countless Religions and over 300 million people not all of us agree with you. And yes a lot of us are Christians too. One of my favorite quotes of late is " That Awkward moment when you wake up and find you're in hell because you were a bigoted intolerant jackass who used Religion as your excuse to be a spitful hateful ass".

  157. Billy Jennings

No Dana lets believe Fox bet you didn't know the second largest share holder in Fox is Arab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And while we are at it did you know the FCC investigated Fox for telling a few to many whoppers and Fox argued that the FCC does not make it illegal to lie so the FCC found that indeed they had lied so often it was a joke but Fox was right the FCC doen't say you have to tell the truth so Fox continues. But the truth is that the facts don't matter at all to Mitt and his Republican cronies before the last debate fact checkers at that time in just a short 18 months found 531 lies by Mitt but heck I guess lying is ok with the Christian Right as long as it gets Romney into office I mean I don't remember thou shalt not have abortions being one of the ten comandments yet somehow it seems to me that it does say thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor, just saying.

  158. Sandra Villasenor

Liberals want me to pay for abortions, sounds a lot like China already.

  159. Ashburn Fumc

Rodney, please get in touch with your own bias. A bit of self-awareness could be helpful. You have made some pretty awful comments about the GOP candidate over the past six months or so. You have been quite negative toward the GOP and its candidate while posting a lot of rhetoric about tolerance. Perhaps some of the folks who posted replies above are correct in suggesting that you did not listen carefully enough to the actual statement by Governor Huckabee. Hang in there Rodney. People on both sides of the political situation are really passionate; sometimes they overstate their case (as it seems that you have done in your posting). The current situation is so polarized. For the most part, the Governor seems pretty level-headed and fair. Have you heard him defent the President? He has done so in interviews and statements. He has an obvious commitment to the candidacy of Governor Romney but he has, at least in my experience of him, been respectful.

  160. Dennis Lewis

Huckabee was a snake oil Salesman in his past life. Or else, he was severely bitten and mentally damaged. Carried forward to the present also.

  161. Ron Schultz

Adam, the heart does not lie, God see's who we are from our hearts, so no the bible isnt the only thing that doesn't lie. Jesus came and seen the corruption and human dogma ruining the way for others to enter god's kingdom, he showed us and told us that it is whats in our hearts and those things will be shown by our actions if it is truth. If our hearts are true and we are not fakers then our actions will show the words and thoughts to be true. he also told the samaritan woman it does not matter where on worships and also that god would rather us to come to him alone in hte dark away from others to see. So yes it is good to be with like minded followers but that doesnt mean we are to be a organized religion. organized religion ALWAYS makes that religion the ONLY true way to god. I'm sick and tired of all religions saying they are right and everyone else is wrong. you can have your organized religion, i will stick to my prayers in the quiet and darkness of my true self and do the best to care and love others for doing that is like doing it to our heavenly father as it is written in the bible.

  162. Thomas Brown

I have NEVER seen so much crazy stuff in my entire life. Have people given up on logic and reason as a means to an end decision?

  163. Tim Baughman

Jeff I see. So the lies told by Obama get a bye. Hmm

Maybe you should try looking up the Obama years & watch the vids on Obama's promises that he didn't keep.

So as usual you & your liberals friends have rewritten & twisted what was said to further your agenda. If you don't believe then don't. That's your prerogative. However, everything he stated is true & backed by scripture.

If you don't like his message then don't listen. You do know this country provides us with the right to free speech & freedom of religion. Maybe you've forgotten that. Especially since Obama has taken over. I forgot liberal are tolerant of others except when others disagree with them. They believe in free speech as long as it's their speech. How sad.

Believe your little stories & excuses. The Bible has stood the test of time. If you wish to ignore it & replace it's tenants with your own morality then do so. Liberals never want to take accountability for their own actions anyway. Just remember your silly rantings in the future.

  164. Carol Parry

The Bible I read said "Judge not lest yes be judged". It also contains Ten Commandments, one of which states, Thou shalt not bear false witness". Everytime you pass judgement on me or the President you are breaking that commandment. And here I thought Huck was supposed to be a Christian. Just goes to show you. I really don't feel any person running for president should use the Bible to further their cause. The truth is you cannot be in politics and remain a Christian. Just look at our friend Romney. He has broken most of the Commandments. You need to be a liar to open your pollitical mouth.

  165. Irene Vasquez Gutierrez

The doomsday should have been predicted in the 60"s when prayer was taken out of our school system!

  166. Dana Prieto

OH Please They FCC investigated Fox on behave of Obama who called it Hate Media because they disagreed with him! They also disagreed with much the Bush did I did not here anyone complaining about that. Part of the big problem in this country is people on both sides believe all the lies about the opposing group. My neighbor who is a dyed in the wool democrat once told me "if you notice all the politicians who get in trouble for corruption are all republican!!! Actually I believe it is more Democrats last count but the point is he actually believed that! Same here the FCC investigated them because the dems have never been able to have a successful channel like this they have tried a number of times but never panned out for them. So then if your own channel doesn't work to combat the opposing view point then attack them and say they have no right to have their channel. I say FOX just off sets David Letterman, WHoppi GoldBurg. Ellen Degenerate Oprah NBC CBS and ABC so yes FOX is biased and often sees things that are not there but so does the list I just mentioned

  167. Lee Wisner

Oh I get it. Make a headline that has absolutely nothing to do with what he said. Friggin idiots. Who wrote this crap heap? Someone pushing the Obama campaign obviously.

  168. Anita Henley Phillips

That's not what he said. If you have to have a translator to explain what you said, what good did it do? Isn't he a minister, does his church pay taxes because he is endorsing a candidate? I hate this kind of talk. Religion doesn't have a place in politics. Stop the madness. What about people like him who are trying so hard to ruin a good man's life? Barrack Obama. WWJD?

  169. Bridget Ann Enke

Making a promise and being unable to keep it because the Congress from whom Obama needs cooperation to get anything done's sole purpose is blocking anything he tries to do and working to see that he is, and I quote, "a one term President." They refused to do their jobs; no President can get things done alone.

  170. Anita Henley Phillips

"Vote Nov. 6 and join me, vote values." You mean like lying? Why not just elect a preacher to be president? Oh, you tried but failed. We get religion in church and at home, we don't need it in politics, because everyone isn't from the same religion, so how exactly would that work? Lts work on jobs, the economy and world peace. Isn't that enough to worry about? Romney has flipped on every issue you talk about. Who can trust him? A Christian voting for aproven liar. How about that?

  171. Karen Moody Bowman

A Christian voting for a cult leader is still not connecting with me…..????? Oh yea, Anita I do get it & most of us do get what their reasons are.

  172. Craig Long

I guess if you are anything other than christian, voting for Obama will not damn you. Thank god I'm not a christian.

  173. Karen Moody Bowman

Mike Huckabee should re-examine his idea that he is a Christian Preacher.

  174. Karen Moody Bowman

Mike Huckabee should re-examine his idea that he is a Christian Preacher.

  178. Ron-Joyce Merrett

As a Christian I believe that voting for a Mormon would be a sin and definitely send me to hell. Hell on earth, if that hypocrite ever got to be president. Mormonism is a manmade cult that originally promoted bigamy and the enslavement of women. I don't remember what variety of Christian Mr. Huckabee is? I also wonder what made him think he should make such a proclaimation. Not the good Lord, I believe in.
If you remember, Jesus had no time for the Pharisees, priests etc., who critized him for healing the sick on the Sabbath. Help the poor, the widows and little children – not a message I have heard out of the mouth of Mr. Romney or Mr. Ryan – an Ayn Rand devotee. I am member of the 47% who Mr. Romney belittled – however- while employed for over 30 years paid a far higher percentage of taxes than Mr. Romney ever has. Please do not think we are stupid Mr. Huckabee. Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan are not the men to help this country – vanity is the reason Mitt Romney is running for President, he is trying to do what his father, also a very wealthy man, was not able to accomplish. By the way, Mr. George Romney did release his tax records!

  179. Miller T.

  180. Cynthia Gaedy Davidson

Jan, where do you get off being so "supposedly" righteous?

  181. Anita Henley Phillips

Oh no, so that's it! Jan thinks she's Palin! You just lost all credibility and we can't take 2 of you.

  182. Nancy Eddy Arnold

That is what happens Tom when you allow the far right fringe into your party, in an attempt to use them to win at any cost. Those same fringe dwellers have taken control and the sane old fashioned Republicans are being run over. It is sad and this lying and evangelical rantings are being used in that win at any cost plan. Makes me very worried and almost sick to my stomach. So much hate!!

  183. Ron Curtis

Mike Huckabee thinks the world is less than 10,000 years old. In the 60's he would of been put in an asylum, still sounds like a good idea.

  184. Steven Myers

I actually WATCHED the video… I too am a pastor and I am saddened that Mike's words are being taken out of context. He does not once say anything about Hell. He mentions that our vote will be recorded for eternity. Well, surprise! Everything we do has eternal implications. Our political affiliation is not a matter of religious debate, but rather a matter of Biblical understanding. We vote based on what we believe to be true.
Everyone take a breath! This will all be over in less than a week and God will be responsible for placing His choice in office – Read Romans 13!

  185. Maxine Wilson

That's not what he said at all. He wasn't talking about hell when he spoke of the test of fire. He will tell you as any Christian that the only way one goes to hell is to reject Jesus as savior, and has nothing to do with how a person votes. I can't wait to hear his response to this. speaking of fire, however I'm sure polifact will give your statement a "pants of fire" false rating.

  186. Carla Boswell-Ksenak

I love Mike Huckabee and he is right on! Tell it like it is. Not everyone likes to hear the truth.

  187. Mike Ford

Correct. But since it was brought up, we could really have a conversation about "Christians" who vote for Obama. I won't judge them, but …

  188. Alan Kahn

When Huckabee talks I'm usually reminded of a quote by Yul Brenner (Ramses) in the movie "The 10 Commandments". "Let him rant that men may know him mad..". But in this case, it's true.

  189. Maxine Wilson

I agree, Mike. I was just so shocked when I read those comments. Anyone who knows Mike understands how he has always shown humility and love to those with whom he disagrees. I have also questioned why a Christian would vote for anyone who would support partial birth or late term abortion, but some say they don't always vote based on all the issues. I have shared with friends and relatives my views on these issues, but have never tried to condemn them in anyway 'though I do wish some would do some research and be sure they want someone to lead our country who has such extreme positions on abortion and even voted three times against the "born alive infant protection act."

  190. Ron Curtis

Some really manipulative people made up a bunch of fairy-tales that constantly change to suit the needs of whomever is telling them. Have you ever researched how the bible was put together in Rome ? It was hundreds of years after Christ died and it was a political meeting with all the different sects putting in their two cents. St. Peter's Gospel didn't make the cut and wasn't he Jesus's right hand guy ? The Book of Revelations was found in a damn cave, even though it contradicts the spirit of Matthew. Mark, Luke, and John, slick Preachers have no problem giving it the highest priority. The reason is it's been translated from Greek to Latin and then to English. The triple translation makes it hard to understand and people think they need a translator. Their local Preacher is only more than happy to twist up any tales they wish. The Lutherans have it right, read the bible and make your own conclusions, anyone claiming any additional divine truth is a liar that wants something for themselves.

  191. Jeff Camp

I am not voting for Obama, but this will help Obama more than hurt him. If I supported Obama I would post this on every social media site that I could. This will fire up Obama supporters more than get votes from an imformed Christian.

Yes, be a true Christian and vote for a Mormon……….be a Christian and resort to name calling to identify the people you disagree with……..and then be a Christian and make fun of someone's intelligence level………Jarvis you are truly showing the ways of a good Christian.

  193. Kimberly Theskynolimit JS

I'm sure Jan is living strictly by the bible……chile please….

  194. Ed Clemensen

Jan Lenhart Sorry, but what Bible are you reading. My King James tells me that God is my judge, and he sent his only son to die on the cross for me. He has already forgotten my sins, I will have to repent them when I see his face or sooner. My Revised Standard tells me that we are all suppose to love one another, not have haterd. M.H. has preached haterd on the left for decades. The ninth Commandment states thou shal not curry false testomony, The CBO says Obama Care has already saved us money, M.H. sayus it willnot. Whom, is carrying false te4stomony. James 2:8,9 (NLT) "Love your neighbor as yourself. but if you favor some people over others you are committing a sin. You are guilty of breaking the law. Huckabe as with several of the other highly namedPreachers of today need to reed Matthew 7;1 Do not judge others and you will not be judged. What it comes down to is that Huckabe isn't the enity that decides who goes to heaven and who doesn't, by doing so however he exults himself as a god before God. see the first commandment.

  195. Ed Clemensen

For the Nuss boys, the right however does possess several none Christain values i.e. to follow my referance to James 2 8,9 James 2 16 states…go in piece, without givingthem the things neededfor the body, whatdoes it profit. while the right the right judges abortion, they are also guilty ,of tryimg to kill pre-natal care, nutricianal care, and medical care for the born child. Not to mention educational care. Poor people can't afford to send their kids to schools for profit, whitch goes back to favoring one over another.

  196. Ed Clemensen

Brian Linblad Brain Have you ever held a an unwanted dying preteen child in a vomit filled alley hopeing that the ambulence will get there in time. When the ambulence doesn't make it in time you wish the child had never been born, She suffered and you suffered, WE would have never learned about abortion if God had not let us.

  197. Ed Clemensen

SAlomeh I hope you will allow me to disagree, the righties, don't hold these moral stantards for them selves, they hold them for the rest of us. They are immune to Gods wrath, because they (believe) are Gods Stewarts over the rest of us.

  198. Ed Clemensen

That does bring up a good question. I, personnally left Pastor Jacks , Chino Hil Church, because he had three things he preached about, how bad the Muslims were, how bad the Liberals were, and how the Morman church did not believe in Jesus, because they didn't have the right graven immages on disply. How come now the religious right which claim the Mormon church was heathen, is now the penical of truth. Hyprocracy be thy name.

  199. Gubmint Cheese

Both Mohammed and Joseph Smith taught that true salvation was to be found only in their respective religions. Those who would not accept their message were considered “infidels,” pagans or Gentiles.
Mitt Romney must think Mike Huckabee is an infidel.

  200. Brent Eble

People should read and comment on the facts. Mr. Huckabee didn't say that! Another attempt of the media getting people divided. Everyone needs to remain calm and vote! Although, I do recommend Mitt over the other guy. Just saying…..

  201. Jan Lenhart

Lee, you poor little thing. When you get there you will change your mind. The Bible is truth. Ask God to forgive you and humble your spirit to accept him by believing. God bless you, dear one.

  202. Jan Lenhart

Ed, now you are judging. the word 'should' is an opinion word. Come on, now. We all should listen to His voice, but few do.

  203. Jan Lenhart

Lee, thank you for judging me. You, too, need help. My opinion. God sees your heart. Did ya know that? Clean er up. Smile

  204. Jan Lenhart

Jackie Olmstead Yes, Jackie, we are all precious to our Lord, and I am so thankful for His mercy ,but that does not mean that all people in the world have given their heart and life to Jesus and accepted Him as their Lord and Saviour, which, according to God's Word, is the only way to make Heaven our home.

  205. Don Mingo

I'm a bit confused. Just watched the video twice "Mike Huckabee Warns Christians Voting Obama Will Go To Hell [Video]".

Where did Huckabee say voting Obama will send one to hell?"

Not a Huckabee fan, but really tired of both right and left misquoting each other for political expediency,

  206. Salomeh Ghorbani

Sandra Villasenor – No they don't. If you have to lie to support your position, it is not worth supporting.

  207. Monica Cutright

No. What I am saying is, the claim that he said if you vote for Obama you are going to hell, is wrong. That was never mentioned. I don't know why I was shocked when searching this there were multiple sources and web sites that said he did. It is a lie. And I am amazed how many people went off on this like he did. They either didn't read the article or watch the ad. Because it had nothing to do with hell. I don't agree with either Romney or Obama on all issues. But as a christian registered voter, I have to look at who matches my moral values the best. What I feel is important. Those issues are going to be different than yours, and I respect that. And just a side note, anyone can call themselves a christian, but the bible says to look at what they produce. If I stand up and tell you I am a christian and in the next breath tell you I am for partial birth abortion and the murders of 53 million babies and I am for the things that are the exact opposite of what the bible teaches, aren't I the hypocrite? Just saying.

  208. Karen Meek-Shew

Jan Lenhart you are a complete fool to believe Mike H's bull crap. This is just another GOP scare tactic to make people vote for a Non-Christian Republican. As I know Jesus Christ was not a Mormon. Mr. H will also go to Hell if that is the case for lying to the public, because we know deep down he doesn't like Romney either!

  209. Debbie Doran

the bible speaks of false prophets and Mike Huckabee is a false prophet,,, think about it , he sits in judgement of another, pres. Obama is a christian, Romney is a mormon,,, mormonism is considered a cult,,, mormons wear what they call'''MAGIC UNDERWEAR''', they claim that these special underwear will protect them from the world, as a christian we are taught to trust in the LORD for everything,,,,, also mormons are taught that when they die they have the potential to become A GOD, and that they will have their own universe to rule over,, as a christian I was taught their is only ONE TRUE GOD,,, if Huckabee was a real christian, he would not believe that a non christian would be well suited to run America over a christian,,, Romney is not a christian and Huckabee is trying to deceive many.

  210. Tim Cauley

I am really concerned with all of the reverends (and Christians) in this country who vote and support ANY candidate who holds contradictions to God's law. As Christians, we have an obligation to vote for the candidate who openly states positions closely aligned to biblical principals. Do you actually read the bible you are supposed to be preaching from? There is no opportunity for "spin" here, God demanded it and you proclaim to live by it. Let's start today!

  211. Anonymous

Huckabee exposes, like we didn't already know, that he is a charlatan. He sounds just like Oral Robert's saying "..if you don't send me money God will come and take me…"! Or Pat Robertson and the cast of other filthy rich televangelists! And the sheep graze on in the pasture of indifference!

  212. Ron Cram

Lots of Black pastors have already told their church members not to vote for Obama. Rick Warren preached a non-partisan sermon titled "Standing courageously for the truth" and he told people it was stupid to vote for someone because you "liked" them. He said we should be voting our Christian worldview and it is pretty clear Obama has rejected the Christian worldview. Watch Rick Warren's sermon at http://saddleback.com/mc/m/f097f/.

  213. Jerry Helton

Everyone should watch the documentary " Why we fight" and get a real good look at the republican party! I want abortion stopped on our men and women, sons and dauthers, mothers and fathers that are killed in wars that are political and corperate driven!

  214. Errol Johnson

This is not an endorsement of Huckabee's campaign tactics—I don't believe in blackmail politics.
But, most journalist either have not done their research or are purposely twisting Huckabee's words.
The church is not a building, but the tax paying believers in Jesus Christ. Also, Huckabee is not preaching damnation to those who vote for President Obama, but reminding believers that all of our actions whether good or bad are recorded and will come to bear in the last days. Believers' eternal rewards will be determined by one's actions while on earth. God does not damn the true believer. If so, Christ death and resurrection would have been in vain.

  217. Debbie Doran

who gives Mike Hucksbee the right to stand in judgement of another,,, how does Huckabee know pres.Obama's heart,,, pres. Obama saids he is a christian, who died and gave Mike Huckabee the right to sit in judgement of another,,, Huckabee is no christian, he uses christianity to spread his racist hate and he is what the bible warns us of,,, the bible saids the blind can't lead the blind, they will both fall in a hole,,,, Huckabee is trying to convince folks out their to vote for a cult, mormonism, Romney in the WHITE HOUSE, so satan can control America,,, folks read your bible, if pres. Obama was so bad for AmericA he had 4 yrs to destroy us, he has brought us out of a deep recession , our economy is coming back, slowly but coming back,,,, GOD HELP US IF ROMNEY BECOMES PRESIDENT, do you really want a cult running America?

@Jan Lenhart You keep shoving your religion down our throats which we never asked from you! So I think there's a screw loose in your head. You need to see a psychiatrist before it worsens!

  219. Billy Jennings

Maxine as a Christian myself I fear much more have a Cult member lead my country . Maybe you should really look into what the Moron church believes Jesus and Satan are brothers, God lives in human form with his many wives on the planet Kolob all the while wearing his magic underwear and that if you live a pure enough life you can become as a God. And my all time favorite Joseph Smith is every bit as important as Jesus Christ. l NO THANK YOU

  220. Debbie Weaber

I cannot understand how ANYONE who is CLAIMING TO BE A CHRISTIAN—can vote for a man who promotes things that go against the word of God—the pastor better get a New Bible if he thinks it is ok—or these people probably are not Christian.

  221. Billy Jennings

Steven you're telling me that if Obama is reelected you will believe it's God's choice and you'll give him the support that the Right has refused to give the last two years?

  222. Phil Weingart

    Oh, my goodness, the ignorance!

Do you REALLY believe that every time a Christian uses the word "fire," they're talking about hell? REALLY?

Try this on for size: John the Baptist, describing Jesus, said "He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire." (Matt 3:11, Luke 3:16).

So, according to The Inquisitr, John the Baptist said "Jesus is going to baptize you in the Holy Spirit and send you to hell." Um… no, that's not what he meant. He explained in the context that Jesus was going to use tribulation to separate useful from useless. He used an analogy to threshing wheat. "Fire" can be taken as the hardship that separates the wheat from the chaff, or it can be taken as the presence of God. Whichever you think is correct, it is not punishment.

Please, PLEASE, if you can't ask Gov. Huckabee directly what he meant, get an education so you can figure it out properly for yourselves.

For the record, in Huckabee's context, "fire" refers to hardship. I would have thought that was obvious from the visual analogy to a blacksmith and the word "tested", but with The Inquisitr around, apparently we can't count on people grasping the obvious.

  223. Phil Weingart

Let's see, does the scripture ever use "fire" in a manner that does not mean "hell?"

Why, golly gee, yes it does. Who would have thought…

John the Baptist describes Jesus as one who will baptize in "the Holy Spirit and fire." He then uses an analogy to threshing wheat where the grain gets gathered into the barn, but the chaff gets burnt up. Hell, right? Sadly, no… he's talking about the defects of character that get removed when God corrects the believer. Compare to I Peter 4:12, "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you…" Fire means testing and hardship that produces sound character.

Or notice in Acts 2:3-4 how the Holy Spirit comes on the believers looking like tongues of fire resting on them. Or maybe God showing up as a pillar of fire to Moses and the Israelites in the wilderness, in Exodus and Numbers.

Gov. Huckabee was talking about hardship testing one's character. I thought that was obvious from the visual about a blacksmith, and from the word "tested." But with The Inquisitr around, I guess we can't count on people grasping the obvious, and we have to actually break out the scriptures and find out what a Christian might mean when he uses an unheard-of analogy (that gets used all the bloody time) like "tested by fire," accompanied by pictures of a blacksmith.

    Sheesh.

  224. Maxine Wilson

I understand what you are saying, Billy, and if we were discussing a spiritual leader, I would not choose either of the two candidates. I was referring only to their policies. It is my opinion, however that someone who would not at least try to protect an innocent baby who had survived a botched abortion would not do all that much to protect anyone in our country.

  225. Rake Maker

A profound reason for making churches pay taxes like everyone else. This moron is a liar, a fear monger and a desperate piece of shit. And the biggest thing this stupid bastard doesn't speak for God. Huckabee you are a fucking coward, a fear monger and pathetic liar. Your stupid ass is why religion has taken a hit in this country. What is any difference from your stupid spewing and what the Muslim religion is? And some are falsely worried about Muslim's taking over the country. Hell we already have morons like you that are worse than muslims. Keep you fucking fat mouth shut liar and coward.

  226. Sue Haskins

What are Christians to do? If we vote Obama, we go straight to hell. If we vote Mitt, we are voting for a member of a cult. We know Christians think Mormonism is a cult, right? lol.

  227. Andi Pistone

Who is this man? GOD? Only God knows where we will be going when we die…what an idiot! Another person to get his or her 15 minutes of fame.

  228. James Harthoorn

Very dishonest article. The advertisement doesn't say people who vote for Obama are going to hell. It says that it will be recorded in eternity. There is a BIG difference.

  229. Andy Johnson

    Nonsense.

Hell is based on the Hebrew word "sheol", translated as "grave", "pit", or "abode of the dead" and is found in the earliest books of the Bible, Genesis and Deuteronomy, written about 1400 B.C. Jesus Christ — a real person — also spoke of Hell more than 70 times, so he obviously regarded Hell as real.

  230. Tee Godson Jay

By the numbers: Civil rights Icon "joked" all whites will go to hell, Huckabee claims Obama voters will go to hell (95% black and 60%+ latino) now who is left for heaven? here's my take, good people will go to heaven regardless of religious affiliation.

  231. Andy Johnson

Anthony — Leaving aside your wildly inaccurate screed about the Founding Fathers, you really don't understand salvation through faith in Christ, do you?

  232. Anonymous

Honestly, what will take you to hell Huckabee is the hate you carry in your heart about Obama. It will take you straight to hell. The bible says that the greatest of them all is LOVE. You can speak with tongues of angels and say all you want….. Also you will pay for this HATE right here on earth. You have hated Obama from the word go and God has seen all that is in your heart. God is love and Republicans may claim to be christians but actions speak louder than words. You do not even accept that Obama is a christian but you seem to be the one that saves people and that chooses who is in and who is out. God is the one that saves and the bible says do not be a judge of men. God is the judge. If God wants Obama to be president again none of you can stop Him because His mind is not Huckabee's mind.

  233. Phil Weingart

Mr. Clemenson, if you're going to apply teachings from the Lord's brother James, you should probably spend a few hours pondering this one:

"Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother, or judges his brother, speaks against the law, and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge of it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?" James 4:11-12

    Or this one:

"Do not complain, brethren, against one another, that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door." James 5:9

If you refrained from judging (and posting your judgment on facebook) your delusional representation of the positions of conservatives, who believe not a single word of that of which you accuse them, you would not be falsely accusing the innocent in public, and thus endangering yourself.

Be careful; the REAL Judge is standing right at the door, and soon He'll come in. And if He judges you by the words of those who misrepresent your position, the way you're judging your brothers on the right, what will you say to Him? "By the measure you use, it will be measured to you…"

  234. Phil Weingart

    (A) The founders wisely exempted the churches from taxation so the pulpit would be free to criticize the government without fear of reprisal. They regarded the liberty of the church as necessary to protect the liberty of the nation. The fact that somebody like you might take offense at somebody like Huckabee is the very reason why they are NOT taxed. Get a clue.
    (B) You're seriously ignorant if you believe the headline here. Go watch the damn ad; did you see all those visuals of metal being shaped in a FIRE??? What do you suppose that was about? You think it was just to be pretty? Or was he saying something about being "TESTED IN A FIRE" (oh, gee, he did use that phrase, didn't he? Hmm…) Criminy, the ignorance!!!

Get a grip. Get a clue. And then, for all our sakes, get an education.

  235. Phil Weingart

    David Morris:

"Code speak" is the confession that the person you're accusing never actually said what you're accusing him of saying.

Did you happen to notice all those visuals of metal being shaped in a FIRE? Goodness gracious me, could that have anything to do with what the ad is saying? When he says "tested in fire," is that connected in any way with those visuals?

Might he actually mean that the times are testing our commitment, or that hardship is testing our character, or something like that?

OF COURSE NOT. He's engaging in Southern Baptist "Code Speak"(TM) that only the enlightened, like David Morris, can interpret! He's saying your damned if you vote for Obama!

People who accuse others of "code speak" are deceivers who want to accuse the innocent for political purposes, and make stuff up to do it. They don't need facts, they can turn anything you say into anything they want to hear. They epitomize the very thing that corrupts American politics the worst. Huckabee did not say you were going to hell for that, but in my humble opinion, he would not be far wrong if he had.

  236. Jonathan B. Christmas

People who will read a liberal spin head line and then comment on the headline while not what he actually says are bigger fools than the people who write the stuff. Like lambs to the slaughter.

  237. Mary Beth Frey

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad." –2 Corinthians 5:10.
We don't like to think about judgment. But scripture is very clear that every person on the planet will stand before Christ to hear judgment. Though our salvation is dependent upon whether or not Christ is our Savior and Lord, our actions as individuals in life certainly factor into things eternally in a way that we don't fully comprehend.

  238. Phil Weingart

Tee Godson Jay wrote: "Jesus was not a politician, any pastor that is a politician is FAKE. "

So I guess the American revolution was preached into existence by fakes, then. You do know that the American Revolution was preached from the pulpits of New England, right?

Here's a little light reading for you to catch up on, if you want to speak from actual learning: http://oll.libertyfund.org/index.php?option=com_staticxt&staticfile=show.php%3Ftitle=816&Itemid=27. It's a collection of politically-oriented sermons from New England pastors during the American revolutionary period. Enjoy.

Jesus was indeed a politician, as it happens. The nation of which he was a citizen was called Judea in his time (no, Jesus was not a citizen of Rome, and He had no legal right to engage in Roman politics) and was governed by a theocratic body called the Sanhedrin. In the areas not within easy reach of the Jerusalem temple, the government was by learned elders of the culture called Rabbis, and emanated from the synagogues of the various towns where they appeared; these are called "Pharisees" in the New Testament. Throughout His ministry, Jesus engaged the errant leadership of the Jews, calling them to return to teaching the character of God accurately. Because He crossed the leadership too effectively, they plotted with the Roman occupiers to kill Him, and eventually put Him to death — for POLITICAL crimes ("We have no King but Caesar!")

I recommend a book by a friend of mine, Neil Mammen, called "Jesus Was Involved in Politics. Why Aren't You? Why Isn't Your Church?" It's available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Jesus-involved-politics-arent-Church/dp/144144081X. It will straighten you out.

So I keep asking: Is worshiping a false god as Mormons do, is that not a moral issue? Will that stand the test of fire? It is awfully hypocritical of these evangelicals who were for anyone BUT Romney 6 months ago to be conveniently ignoring mentioning that he worships a false god. When the Billy Graham organization takes down references to Mormonism as a cult from its website after meeting with Romney, it becomes clear again that Christians are compromising and attempting to justify it. There seems to be little to no regard that we are giving an international platform to something that goes against God.

In the same way that homosexuals have tried to justify some of their relationships by saying that God is okay with MONOGAMOUS homosexual relationships, we are not making it sound okay to SITUATIONALLY endorse that which is against God.

If one person gives Mormonism a second look and stumbles into an eternal lake of fire, God help us. All because we have shown ourselves to be more concerned about THIS kingdom instead of GOD'S eternal Kingdom.

We seem to think we are doing God a favor by voting for "the lesser of two evils" when God has asked for our OBEDIENCE not our sacrifice.

Scripture shows that Jesus wants us to go with Him leading and us along for the ride. But we want to do things our way and then try to mold Jesus into it in order to justify it.

Obedience is better than sacrifice. And the type of wickedness being displayed by Christians in supporting and elevating that which is against God is the VERY REASON the country is where it is morally.

Yes, we are where we are because of the wickedness of HIS people, not the lost.

    God help us!

  240. Glenda de Vaney

Nowhere in this article does Mike say the Christian is "going to hell if he votes for Obama." The "test of fire" he is referring to is God's judgment of the works of the Christian (not his salvation) – whether they will withstand the test of fire or be deemed to have been performed for selfish reasons. His works may not survive but his salvation will. This is false and inflammatory reporting. Do your homework Inquisitor before making ignorant claims such as this.

  241. Mike West

Huckabee is an insane man to make such a crazy statement. Obviously Huckabeee has some sort of mental illness because sane people do not ake comments like that.

  242. Jimmy Rigg

This is a perfect example of why the secular liberal media should never comment on Christian matters. First of all Huckabee never said you would go to hell. Christianity 101 states that the only way to be saved is to accept Jesus as your Lord & Saviour…period. What he is referring to is the Biblical fact that even Christians will have their deeds, even idle words judged and will be rewarded accordingly. This is known as being passed through the fire. What comes out as good, will be rewarded, what is not good, ie voting for someone who is in direct opposition to God's Word, will burn up like stubble. Yet, even Christians who make stupid decisions, in other words all of us at times, will still be saved. I am surprised the pastor who commented isn't aware of God's word.

  243. Susan L Lynn

Just where did Mike ever say that you would go to hell if you voted for Obama? I did not hear that in the ad. The problem with today is that our Godless Society calls good evil and evil good. We serve mammon rather than our righteous Creator who is a faithful, loving, righteous God above all other gods. May he help us do right since the vote is in our hands. Either result doesn't change the fact that our country is in serious moral spiritual decay. However, none of this is a surprise to our Heavenly Father……He has not lost control over His creation. He is Lord over all. But remember "it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a Living God".

I used to like Mike Huckabee and thought he would have been a better nominee for the GOP in 2008 than McCain or Romney..However this tirade about going to hell because of voting democrat is nonsense. People go to hell because they do not repent of their sins and believe in the Lord Jesus. Once saved nobody can go to hell. Doesn't the good baptist preacher turned politician not know this?

Many people think Mike Huckabee is far right with a hellfire – damnation agenda. However, if America would follow Mike's ideals, we would be a more moral, ethical nation! Thank God for Mike Huckabee!

  248. Andy Johnson

Mr. Huckabee is not saying you will go to Hell if you vote for Obama — he does not mention either candidate, nor does he use the word "hell" in the video. He is saying that all of our actions in this life will be reviewed and judged when we face God in the afterlife. If anyone — Christian or non-believer — supports or fails to oppose sin such as murdering children in the womb, a time will come when you will have to account for your actions or your inaction.

I might add that the sins of lying, stealing, adultery, blaspheming the name of God, etc are also on the list, so no one should take pride in their perfect sinless lives, WE ARE ALL GUILTY. Only through faith in Christ are we saved, not voting for Mr. Romney or Mr. Obama.

  249. Anonymous

Mr. Huckabee is being very courageous in his conviction. A good Christian certainly wouldn't want someone leading this country who believed that a woman should have the right to decide to have a medically safe abortion, or that homosexuals should have the same legal rights as everyone else. And they wouldn't want a pathological liar who is a member of a cult that approved of marriage to multiple wives. So, he is advising to find someone who is a Christlike candidate, and vote for them, for that is the only decision that will stand the test of the final fire! Jimmy Swaggart, Jimmy Swaggart for President!

  250. Joseph Rider

What a bloated joke. So is Mitt Romney going to Hell for all the lies he has said in his life and especially this capaign blatent lies that he knows is wrong. Nobody wanted Huckabee as President and the genral public except the mind dead followers of the fox network and Rush Limbaugh types oh yeah so Rush doesn't go to hell for all his lie and drug use and calling women sluts etc? The whole Republican party has become a joke look at the Michelle Bauchmans and Sarah palins, Scott walker, and the whole list of nutjobs they have in the party. I leavt the party in 1991 and have never regretted it.

  251. Patricia Medina

If you vote for Obama the Christians are going to suffer the most. Gay marriage, Obama has a Gay lover. All Christian better think before the vote. You can not be a Christian and Vote for a Gay President. And a Muslin. Your going against Gods Word. And God words are true. I'm not saying your going to hell but you will bring terrible problems to the United State. IT is VERY easy for people who think there Christian, and they are.

  252. Patricia Medina

Christians listen to the Holy Spirit, Not Obama. Hes a Musling. Are you going to Vote Against God. Because that's just what your doing. Pray about it.

  253. Anthony Vet

Sorry to dissappoint you Andy, I know far more than you think I know, and my above statement is very true, wildly true. I've taken college level American History, Native America History, Black History and Sociology. I'm also a Christian. From my readings it's a fact that the founding fathers were in fact thieves, rapists, liers, adulturers (ie Thomas Jefferson) and slave masters. But in the same breath they claim to be Christians. I beg you to find me proof that our "Founding Fathers" were not these above statements. Yes they did some great things and made this country what it is today, but I also believe that if they died believing what they did was right (see above statements) and didn't repent of them before they died, they are going the HELL! No if, ands or buts about it.

  254. Alan Brown

if romney wins everyone will go to hell because everything else he will take from you remember stalin was a good christian.

  255. David Clasen

Mike Huckabee needs to be applauded for his integrity. However he did not say what what is at the top of this headline. That is the media spinning again. Gods in control……

  256. Tom Stazer

I have read all the comments and Jan Lenhard is the one doing more judging than anyone else. Classic, typical, I am better than you mindset. None blinder than those who believe they are without fault.

  257. Billy Jennings

Then Rick and his church need reported to the IRS, IRS tax codes forbid preachers and churches from this practice if they care to keep their tax exempt status, If you can't find it I'll gladly find it and post it for you

  258. Ron Cram

Billy, not true. The tax code prevents churches from promoting a candidate. We still have freedom of speech in this country. A preacher still has the right to tell his congregation to vote their Christian worldview. Watch the sermon for yourself. I provided a link. There is nothing there that violates IRS rules.

  259. Neil Fitzpatrick

Jan Lenhart you are so misguided. You have the arrogance to believe that your religion is right and all others are wrong. It's just your ego. Get over yourself with your selfrigious crap because you are only guessing what you believe and you are as wrong as all the other religious zealots :)

  260. Andy Johnson

I am a Christian also, a Southern Baptist. (Proud that the SBC elected Fred Leuter as its 1st black President this year.)

Just be careful about painting with such a broad brush. Yes, some of the Founding Fathers owned slaves. But John Adams and Samuel Adams opposed slavery; Thomas Jefferson was born into a family that held slaves but later renounced the practice and introduced anti-slavery legislation; Washington's slaves were emancipated 12 months after his death because he despised the practice. Franklin, Hamilton, Paine and others never owned slaves and opposed the practice. Calling these men thieves and rapists is provably untrue, unkind, and unChristian — are you so perfect that you feel comfortable casting stones?

I agree that these men were imperfect and sinful — just like you and me, like all men. But if they confessed their sins and professed faith in Christ they are in Heaven, not Hell.

  261. Andy Johnson

    Stalin was an atheist…

Stalin said "You know, they are fooling us, there is no God…all this talk about God is sheer nonsense" in E. Yaroslavsky, Landmarks in the Life of Stalin, Foreign Languages Publishing House, Moscow 1940

  262. Majïk Dräck

Thank you, Mike Chucklehead, for continuing to DEMONstrate what colossal imbeciles so very many of you insufferable X-ians really are. If "going to hell" gets me the fuck away from you idiots, I'll gladly vote for Obama and the rest of you can all go screw yourselves with your terminal fear and Jesus magic weeny. Hahahaha!

  263. Andy Johnson

    Carol —

Yes you are being too literal.

Jesus spoke eloquently about divorce in Matt 19 – he said God hates divorce, that a husband and wife are meant to stay together, but divorce is acceptable if your spouse is unfaithful.

The question about fighting in wars is more complex. Some Christians have refused to take up arms as conscientious objectors (Quakers/Amish for example) and I understand their reasoning. However the Biblical imperative "Thou shall not murder" is against unlawful killing resulting in bloodguilt. The Hebrew Bible contains numerous prohibitions against unlawful killing, but also allows for justified killing in the context of warfare, capital punishment, and self-defense.

  264. Dennis Lewis

Andy, I am a believer but just don't believe that if someone votes for Obama that they will go to hell. This is the nonsense I meant. Huckabee is a joke and puppet for the FOX network of radical idiots who believe that Obama is the Anti-Christ. Laughable if not so serious an issue.

  265. Kathy Dovel

Mr Huckabee did not say we would go to hell if we voted for President Obama. What he said is the truth. And there are so many blinded people they can't even read. Those who are against Christianity won't have to worry about us much longer. Jesus is taking all of the believers out of this world and you can all just do as you please! God help you a.

  266. Kathy Dovel

When I read that headline, I knew Huckabee didn't say that. He is not that kind of person. He told the truth but there was nothing about hell and I think the news people should be ashamed of themselves for starting that rumor. And, yes, as a Christian, I could not with full conscious vote for anyone who believed in abortion. Women should have no more rights than the tiny baby they are killing. Yes, God forgives if we do. Years ago when I was young I didn't think much about abortion. If it had been legal , andI needed to, I might have done that. I understand it better now. We even take pictures of the babies. That is not the woman's body that she has rights over,. It's another human being. God loves Gay people and forgives them too, but they shouldn't have any more rights than everyone else in this world. And just because we don't believe in what they do doesn't mean we hate them like the media tries to portray. I have friends of all faiths who do all kinds of things and I love them all. Some are gay and others are adulterers. I still love them. I just know they're wrong. I've done things that were wrong, but God loved me through it all. God bless America again. Now I gotta get to work!

  267. Billy Jennings

Ron learn the laws!!!!!!Under the Internal Revenue Code, all IRC section
501(c)(3) organizations, including churches and religious
organizations, are absolutely prohibited from directly or
indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political
campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate
for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign
funds or public statements of position (verbal or
written) made by or on behalf of the organization in favor
of or in opposition to any candidate for public office
clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign
activity. Violation of this prohibition may result in denial
or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of
    certain excise

  268. Billy Jennings

If that didn't clear it up maybe this well help you!!!!!!However, for their organizations to remain tax
exempt under IRC section 501(c)(3), religious leaders
cannot make partisan comments in official organization
publications or at official church functions. To avoid
potential attribution of their comments outside of church
functions and publications, religious leaders who speak
or write in their individual capacity are encouraged to
clearly indicate that their comments are personal and not
intended to represent the views of the organization

  269. Earl Stander

There is an awful lot of false media propaganda that goes on. Both parties are quilty of it. Media should report the news as news. They should keep their politics and opinions to themselves..

  270. Ron Cram

Billy, perhaps you missed the part where I said the sermon was nonpartisan? He never told people to vote for Romney over Obama. What he did say was to vote your Christian worldview. Is it possible someone could think Obama holds a Christian worldview? Certainly it is possible. The person would have to hold limited reasoning skills but it is possible. As I said earlier, watch the video of Rick's message. I provided a link. Find one objectionable statement in it. It's a challenge.

  271. Billy Jennings

Or do you like this one better ???????????Like other section 501(c)(3) organizations, some
churches and religious organizations take positions on
public policy issues, including issues that divide
candidates in an election for public office. However,
section 501(c)(3) organizations must avoid any issue
advocacy that functions as political campaign intervention.
Even if a statement does not expressly tell an
audience to vote for or against a specific candidate, an
organization delivering the statement is at risk of violating
the political campaign intervention prohibition if
there is any message favoring or opposing a candidate. A
statement can identify a candidate not only by stating the
candidate’s name but also by other means such as showing
a picture of the candidate, referring to political party
affiliations, or other distinctive features of a candidate’s
    platform or biography.

  272. Jan Lenhart

Tom, wait a minute. you just judged me. I am no better than the lowest of mankind, but saved by God's grace and am thankful for that. Oh, yeah, the name is Lenhart. God bless you, Tom.

  273. Tim Huskey

I"m a Christian and I definitely voted for Obama. What I look at the most is what person follows The Sermon on the Mount the closest.

  274. Andy Johnson

Final thought: we are electing a POTUS, not a chief priest. However, one's faith life (or lack of faith) surely informs our politicians' decisions on a whole host of issues — abortion, homosexual marriage, welfare vs. workfare, on and on. You really can't separate what you believe from how you act, unless you are a total hypocrite.

What is concerning about Mr. Obama is the apparent disconnect between his stated Christian faith and his actions as POTUS — he is pro-abortion, pro-homosexual marriage, not a friend of Israel, and has trampled the 1st Amendment by trying to force the Catholic church to pay for abortions and provide free birth control/morning after pills to employees.

Romney is pro-life, pro-1st and 2nd Amendment, pro-military and pro-jobs, and people now realize he is a kind, genuine human being, not the monster they tried to portray him as. We'll see what the American people think next Tuesday — you have to wonder if Mr. Obama has alienated the Christian community to the point where some of the folks who normally vote (D) will change their vote this time.

Finally, please remember that in Christ alone our hope is found, place your faith in Him.

  275. Steven Myers

I am saying that the scripture is clear – Rom 13:1-5 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.
*Keep in mind, this is the Apostle Paul writing to those living under the oppressive rule of Rome – those who would kill Christians for their faith.
BTW, I have communicated this to my congregation. I pray for the president. I pray and repent on behalf of our nation. I believe that God desires us to return to Him in attitude and in action. It is not a right or a left issue. It is the issue of a nation that is devoid of spiritual direction and passion.

  276. Neil Fitzpatrick

The only reason you believe that is because that's what you were taught. You have no way of really knowing what the truth is so yes you are guessing and are conditioned to believe that. I will see when I die what happens next. It's not important to know where the gift of life comes from just enjoy it. The funny thing is the more religious you are the less spiritual you are. The truth is that we all came from the same place and we will all go to the same place which means we are all the same religion no matter whet we want to believe. Most christians live their lives the opposite of how Christ lived. Just let it go because it's not that important :)

  277. Anthony Vet

I'm throwing the same stone Huckabee did. I responded to his comment just like you responded to mine (which is my right) and will continue to do if I hear assinine statements like his again. I have no Heaven or Hell to put anyone in. My point was, "If Mr Huckabee can make that broad statement , he should check the the forefathers track record. My statement was a response to his.

  278. Anthony Vet

Second, you don't know where they are. Please don't act like your're All knowing. You don't know their hearts or their mind set when they died, so don't go there. Only God knows. What I do know is what I stated in my early comments and that is "If" they didn't repent (key word if) of all those hateful things they did and they die before doing so, they are going to hell. In closing I wasn't judging "your" forefathers. What I was doing was making an analogy.

  279. Bill Gillock

Hi Jan, my friend Tom doesn't need me to sticking up for him, and God doesn't need you sticking up for Him. I don't understand how a woman can be against pro-choice. God gave you the right to create a child, how can you as a child of God hand that right over to the government? It makes no sense.

  280. Mary Richman

GEEEZZ you have it so wrong, that is not what the ad is saying and every Christian knows their salvation is dependent on Jesus Christ and they won’t go to hell because of who they vote for.
I think the ad shows America is going to hell “fugitively” with the way it has embraced issues that are contrary to Christian beliefs and that they are hellish.
    He NEVER SAID THAT.

  281. Jessica Knight Schultz

I don't think The Inquisitr and other news outlets have accurately assessed this ad. To do so, you either need to have a fairly good working knowledge of scripture…or just take the initiative to search Bible verses on Google like I did. :o) Check out 1 Corinthians 3:12-14. Also, Malachi 3:2-4. Both examples use fire as a means of burning off impurities or things that will not last. The Christian faith teaches that some things are absolute and eternal. "Will your vote and values stand the test of fire" is not a reference to hell. It's a reference to burning off the impurities in your way of thinking, similar to the silver refinement process. In the 1 Corinthians passage, it says "…their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light." Notice that "Day" is capitalized. When you see that, it's a reference to God. Throughout scripture, he's described as "a consuming fire" and fire is a means of purification. Will your vote and your values stand the test of fire? Do they align with God's values and teachings? If not, maybe you need to rethink your position. This ad isn't condeming you to hell if you don't vote a certain way. It's encoraging you to seriously think and consider your vote, and then make a decision that will line up with what you know about God. And this ad says nothing about voting for any particular candidate or political party.

  282. Deborah Jared

No man or woman has the right to judge another….that's GOD"s JOB and ONLY GOD"S JOB!!!!!!!

  283. Leland Collins

"Miss Lizzie", a saint from my first parish many years ago stated it well: God didn't appoint me a Judge, but he did tell me to inspect the fruit carefully!

  284. Michael Dunivan

He never said anything close to that. How in the world do you get that out of what he said….oh, wait, nevermind. You're from L.A.

  285. Eileen Brickner Jansson

The Catholic Church had this out long before Huckabee did the voice-over (and the Catholic version had a more ominous sounding voice). It's not about voting and going to hell at all. It's about value voting. Will it change anybody's mind? Highly doubtful. Much ado about nothing.

  286. Stacey Irwin

I agree with Huckabee. This election is somewhat different. If 500 million tax payer dollars wasn't going to fund abortions I would be voting for him I myself don't want that on my conscience. I believe others have the right to choose abortions but I also think I have the right not to be part of it. And above all everyone should respect others beliefs. Muslims are excused from Obamacare because their religious beliefs are against buying insurance and I believe their religious beliefs should be respected but so should Christian beliefs.

  287. Billy Jennings

Maxine I'm sorry Mitt's Moral character, his ability to tell any lie at any time for whatever reason scares me to death if this man can't even be honest with us about how he plans to run this country then I don't think he deserves a chance. As far as abortion goes I do believe that it is NONE of my business if some little girl is rapped and doesn't want to carry the product of that rape nor is it Mitt's business. I for one do not condone abortion but I do believe there are times when it is a reasonable option . Maybe something I'll have to answer to God about but it's my soul so let me worry about it. I'm not like a lot of these MORONIC Republicans that think a legitimate rape will be aborted in fact that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. This country need someone to get us back to financial security and Romney isn't the man. Look at the one state he has run Massachusetts he trails there by 30% they hate his policies and his lack of leadership.

  288. Billy Jennings

I prefer my country to be run free of religious groups even Christians, Just as our forefathers did. The problem with the Christians in politics is just as Barry Goldwater once said "The Republican party is in for trouble once the preachers and the christians take it over, because politics is about compromise and they know nothing about it".

  289. Billy Jennings

Patricia spewing hateful lies is just the way to get people to listen to your opinion lol. Obama is more of a Christian than Romney no matter how you put it. Let's not forget until about a month ago until he endorsed Romney for President even Billy Graham called Mormonism a CULT.

  290. Paul Rodney

Alan, actually I have friends here in Florida the UM ministry who have liberal political outlooks and they are deeply committed compassionate Christians. They have passion for social justice, caring for the poor and being advocates for the poor and powerless. They even study their Bible and pray which may come as a surprise to many on the Christian Right. They actually read and apply Matthew 25:31-46, a passage that many traditional middle to upper middle class seem to ignore. Of course that is my biased opinion. None of the people on the left have said someone who has a different opinion is going to hell. Judgment is God's business and I am sorry Huckaby did say that people who did not vote his preference were going to hell. I think what has transpired in the past few years is that agree with them or not people in the Democratic Party have stopped being walked all over by their opposition and have fought back hard. Actually there have been some GOP candidates I have liked like Dick Lugar and former Governor Charlie Crist in Florida but they have been basically been run out of the party by a bunch of cruel troglydyte neanderthal Tea Party types who have taken over the GOP. If Romney is elected he is not one of those people but he will be obliged to them as he has had to go to bed with them to get the GOP nomination. Yes respectable people of moderation have endorsed the president i.e. General Colin Powell a former GOP Secretary of State and independent NYC mayor Bloomberg. Actually even Chris Christie NJ governor was very complimentary of the President and his administration for his response to Hurricane Sandy. Eventhough I do not agree with Chris Christie I admire his sincerity and honesty. I will admit to some of my own bias but as I said before growing up in a working class American family I am basically a Bruce Springstein kind of an American. Finally one of the ways others see that our Christianity is sincere is how we treat the least of these among us. Just sayin. Blessings.

  291. Steven Myers

Billy, when our forefathers established this country, they crafted a constitution that prevented the government from influencing the church by passing the first amendment. When you speak of "groups" running the government, I assume you are speaking of ideologies, or principles. This country will always be influenced by ideologies and principles. This election has divided the country because of the core values held by different groups. My preference would be to see someone elected to office that has a set of core values that line up as closely as possible with the values I see in the Bible. At the end of the day, I must trust that God is in control and will use our leaders to draw our nation back to Him.

  292. Billy Jennings

And I agree with you 100% that is one of the main reasons I can't vote for a man who thinks Joseph Smith in any was of the same cloth as Jesus Christ, or a man who beleives Jesus and Satin are brothers, God lives on the Planet Kolob with his many wives and magic underwear. My point is Steven Mitt is NOT a Christain by any standards and untill he endored Mr. Romney even Billy Graham said as much. So how do we intend for him to bring us closer to God?

  293. Pensacola H Jefferson

There are people who live their Christian beliefs and there are those who USE their Christian beliefs for personal gain. I am surprise at you Mr. Huckabee for using the things of God for your own purposes. God is a God of love and their is no condemnation in Christ. Please don't link your agenda with God's in this way. it is bordering on both heresy and hypocrisy. I am going to pray for you!

  294. Robert Petre

umm lets see. Most christians consider mormonism to be a cult, including most quakers (friends) of which Iam one.. Now if they are in fact a cult why in the world would a professed christian vote to have a cult member ruling our nation. Do they not believe in multiple gods and not the one god (Jesus Christ)? Or being saved by works instead of faith. Or poligamy?

  295. Anonymous

I guess I'm going to hell. Does anybody know of a good hotel there?

  296. Bill Haraldstad

This hypochristian (see: NOT Christian) lunatic bag of hot air is spouting off about something that has always been around, and always will be: abortion. I'm clearly pro-choice, overpopulation is part of WHY I'm all for it, and these recent rants by neocon nutcases regarding this issue only make my support for it all the stronger. It IS a woman's issue, their choice, and legal or not it will ALWAYS be around. It's been happening for thousands of years. Also, people now know that for future reference if you're going to run for president, do NOT bring your personal views on abortion into it. Otherwise you will destroy any and all chances of winning. RicKKK Santorum found this out as did Mitt Romney. Oh, and being a misogynist didn't help those two plunkers either. Idiots. lol

  297. Ella Avance

Most them probably was paid off and as you can see we didn't listen to any of them since we re-elected Obama now get over it!

  298. Caroline Helen Corey

You believe that voting for a Mormon would be a SIN? Really? You sound as right wing as the Republican Right? Didn't you vote for Obama?? Real Democrats are the party of inclusiveness. Don't be a Faux Liberal just because you are a Christian Hater of Mormons. We don't want disillusioned Republicans as part of our party just because you are religiously intolerant! Go vote your real ticket! You don't deserve to be Anglican.

  299. Caroline Helen Corey

Truly stunned that people that raised me to be so tolerant and accepting within the Episcopal Church would promote something so intolerant. Not the parents that I know.
