Road Rage Ends In Death Of 3-Year-Old, Arkansas Boy Died Because Grandma Was Driving Too Slow

A 3-year-old Arkansas boy is dead after a man shot him during a road rage incident. The incident occurred after the man became upset that the boy’s grandma was driving too slow.

According to police, the grandmother was assaulted on Saturday after a man approached her at a stop sign. According to the grandmother, Kim King-Macon, the man was angry that she “wasn’t moving fast enough at a stop sign,” according to the Daily Mail. The man opened fire, hitting the little boy once during the shoot-out.

Scared, the grandmother fled the scene of the shooting and made her way to the nearest shopping center. Once there, she called the police.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:22 p.m. When police arrived, the young boy was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his gunshot wounds.

According to the police, there was only one shot fired, according to their inspection of the car, which hit the young boy.

A police spokesperson stated that the grandmother did nothing wrong to provoke the incident, according to NOLA.

“The grandmother was driving the car and was taking her grandson shopping when the incident occurred. We believe she and the victim were completely innocent and they have no relationship with the suspect.”

The grandmother stated that the man responsible for the road rage shooting was driving a black Chevy Impala. He was described as being a tall black man. He honked at her to continue after stopping at the stop sign. She honked back, and he exited his vehicle, firing the single shot at her car.

“Ms. King-Macon stated that a black male then exited [the Impala] and fired one shot,”

Other than the description of the car model and the vague description of the shooter, police have no other leads to go on at this time. They are hoping someone saw the incident and can come forward with more information. Chief Kenton Buckner claims the entire incident is frustrating, from the lack of evidence to apprehend the assailant, to the incident occurring at all.

“As you can probably understand that’s very, very frustrating to our police agency, as it should be to our community. We cannot have a community to where the least protected among us — being infants — are dying [in] these senseless crimes in our city.”

Buckner continued to share his frustration.

“This is about as frustrated as you can be as a public safety official or just a plain citizen who is sitting watching this tonight to think that these kinds of things are occurring in our city streets.”

The death of the 3-year-old is another senseless act of violence at the hands of an individual that has no respect for the law. Some may blame the gun for the shooting, but we must remember that there was a hand behind that trigger that made the decision to shoot. Although the gun was the weapon of choice, any weapon may have been used in its absence.

Although a knife, rock, or even the car, may have been used in the incident as a weapon, each may have had a lesser impact than the death of the child.

The individual responsible for the shooting death of the young boy would most likely not have cared if guns were outlawed, as he disobeyed the law by shooting. From a reader’s perspective, what should be done to stop such senseless acts of violence?
