Saturday Night Live (SNL) will dominate NBC tonight. First, at 9 p.m. ET, A Saturday Night Live Christmas will air. The holiday special includes clips and skits from Christmas broadcasts over the past seasons and includes many seasonal favorites. After local news broadcasts, SNL will air Season 42, Episode 10 hosted by Casey Affleck and with musical guest Chance the Rapper. SNL is enjoying great ratings this year, and there’s no doubt that Kate McKinnon has been an invaluable comedic asset. Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump characterizations are popular, even if the president-elect himself could do without seeing them. Tonight’s A Saturday Night Live Christmas features Alec Baldwin in several skits, including the widely popular “Schweddy Balls.” “Schweddy Balls” is one of SNL’s top skits along with “Cow Bell,” “Olympia Cafe” (cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger), “Super Bass-o-Matic ’76, and “Chippendales Auditions” with Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze.

Much to the dismay of many fans, Baldwin didn’t make an appearance in last week’s episode that featured John Cena and musical guest, Maren Morris. Emma Stone hosted on Dec 3, with musical guest Shawn Mendes, and tonight’s episode closes out the holiday season. Saturday Night Live will not air on Dec. 24, 2016, as it is Christmas Eve and NBC will air the Christmas Eve Mass beginning at 11:30 p.m. ET. Tonight’s episode marks Casey Affleck’s SNL debut. Affleck is garnering considerable praise for his new film Manchester By the Sea. This marks Chance the Rapper’s second SNL appearance. Chance the Rapper’s newest album Coloring Book is receiving critical praise and acclaim.
