Ben Higgins, Lauren Bushnell On ‘Happily Ever After’ Season 2, ‘The Bachelor’ Couple Gives Update On Wedding Plans

Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are the first Bachelor couple to be given their own spin-off show, titled Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After. After the season finale aired last Tuesday, November 29, on Freeform fans of the couple have been asking if there is going to be Season 2. Unfortunately, Ben and Lauren hinted that the show might not be returning for another season.

In an interview with ET Online, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell revealed that living together and working together took a toll on their relationship. After filming eight episodes, Ben said that they wanted to step back from reality TV and enjoy their relationship for the time being. While Lauren claimed that they are “open to any opportunity that comes,” the couple admitted that having cameras follow them everywhere they go has been difficult.

“The best thing is we’ve gotten to spend a lot of time together, and I think that also sometimes can be the worst thing in a way, because we haven’t really had our space, and both of us are really independent people,” she shared.

Agreeing with his fiancé, Ben added that it’s not healthy for any relationship if the couple spent that much time together. The Bachelor couple held that they’re not stressing about Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After Season 2 until Freeform producers confirmed its renewal.

When Ben Higgins called off the wedding, as seen in a recent episode of Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After, many assumed that this was the end for the couple. At that time, Ben confessed that he was having doubts, thinking that they’re not ready to take such a huge step in their relationship.

“With everything that is going on with our lives, we want to make sure we’re doing this right. We both want to get married once. This is partly because of my own fears and I understand that but I don’t think we’re at a place to make that step.”

Ben, however, insisted that he never had doubts that Lauren is the one for him, he just isn’t ready to tie the knot for now. Ben explained that he did not want to get married from a place where he has “a lot of stress” and “a lot of questions.”

“At this point, and I know one day it will happen for us, but at this point we are saying no.”

Though disappointed with Ben’s decision, Lauren said that she’s supporting her fiancé 100 percent. Even if she didn’t have doubts about marrying Ben and is actually excited about planning the wedding, Lauren didn’t want to force him when he’s clearly not ready.

Speaking to E! News, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell revealed that they’re not stopping all wedding preparations just yet. Ben said that, from time to time, Lauren would bring up the topic about cake, dress, food, but there’s just not as much urgency as before.

When asked if they are still willing to have the wedding televised, Lauren shared that they had no idea, especially since that decision is not entirely up to them. Just like Ben, Lauren said she’s trying to take their relationship one step at a time and enjoy their time together as an engaged couple.

“We’re trying not to really think about like, is it going to be on TV, or where are we going to live in 10 years. There are so many unanswered questions and so many things that aren’t necessarily in our control, so we’re just trying to enjoy the time now,” Lauren shared.
