‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’: Early Tickets On Sale Now In The UK, Thanksgiving Day Advance Purchases In The US?

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story advance movie tickets have gone on sale in the U.K., according to Wired. This is exciting news for those who want to make their purchases in advance. Along with this opportunity comes a new TV spot/trailer that gives some more clues regarding Jyn Erso and her rag-tag team who aredealing with the Death Star.

Last year, The Force Awakens followed decades after Return of the Jedi in that timeline, and this December will be the first standalone spin-off film that’s part of a five-anthology series. Rogue One already has a hint of things to come as several plot points are found in the original Star Wars: A New Hope movie crawl. The heroes’ mission is to find the intricate details of the Death Star, and this movie will follow that portion of A New Hope’s crawl.

Ticket Sales In The U.K. And Other Rumors

If sales of The Force Awakens advance tickets last year are any indicator, the same surge in purchases may very well be just as promising for this movie. The fact that it’s an original standalone film makes it all the more appealing.

Disney seems to have allowed Warner Bros. to first release Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them before opening up the opportunity for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tickets to go on sale, according to Time Out.

The movie won’t be out for another four weeks, but the Gazette Live reports that the film releases a day earlier than the U.S.; Italy, France, and the Netherlands have an even earlier release date of Wednesday, December 14.

Other sites chimed in on the rumors about when tickets will go on sale in advance. Furious Fan Boys reported a tweet by Cineplex Hamm regarding a November 28 date, but that link is no longer available. Could this rumor be meant for the United States? There was a rumor in late October about a November 7 date for advance ticket purchases, according to Star Wars News Net, but that didn’t come to fruition. The original source that cited this rumor was Seaside Courier, but the page is no longer available.

There is also speculation that November 24, Thanksgiving Day, is the day that advance tickets will go on sale, according to Star Wars News Net. Is this the day that fans in the U.S. can purchase advance tickets for Rogue One?

An exclusive look at Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was tweeted on the ABC Network’s Twitter page. That said, do you think the U.S. will have advance tickets available to purchase on Thanksgiving Day?

An official Twitter post by the Star Wars U.K. feed made the announcement for early Star Wars ticket sales. The Rogue One solo film will be showing in Cineworld, and fans will also have an opportunity to see it in 3D at Showcase Cinemas. The latter will provide an opportunity for better immersion into the World War II-style film, and audiences will likely get a better feel of the experience when viewing the rebels taking on Walkers in the flick.

New Rogue One TV Spot

A TV trailer or spot also followed that showed a bit more dialogue between Jyn Erso and her group as they discuss the intimidating Death Star. Previous trailers covered Felicity Jones’ character’s flashbacks to when she was a little girl, giving fans a glimpse of her father, Galen Erso, as portrayed by Doctor Strange’s Mads Mikkelsen. Jyn was abducted at the age of 15 and is later recruited by the rebellion.

There was also footage featuring Captain Cassian Andor and Jyn discovering their loyalties. You could say that may be an indication of tension regarding this epic mission, which launched the entire original saga by George Lucas.

Director Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story debuts on December 16. Tickets are on sale now in the U.K., and keep an eye out if there is an opportunity to do the same in the U.S. on Thanksgiving Day.
