Kanye West Said He Would Have Voted For Donald Trump But Did He Mean It Or Was He Taking Shots At Jay-Z And His Support Of Hillary Clinton?

Kanye West never shies away from the controversial and it looks like his recent opinion about Donald Trump is no different. At a recent concert in San Jose, Kanye told the crowd that he didn’t vote in the 2016 Presidential election. That alone is enough to anger many Americans. Then, Kanye admitted that if he had voted, he would have cast a ballot for Donald Trump.

Would Kanye really vote for Trump, though? After a little digging, it looks like Kanye’s post-election admission was more of a cry for attention than an actual endorsement of the President-elect.

During the San Jose stop for Kanye’s Saint Pablo tour, the never politically correct rapper declared, “I would have voted on Trump.”

Let’s start with Kanye West’s support of Hillary Clinton prior to the actual election. One might think that if they were inclined to vote for the other guy, they might not make campaign contributions to the Democrat. In Kanye’s case, he donated $2700 to Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2015 according to XXL Mag. While that might seem like a tiny amount considering that Kanye is a millionaire, it also happens to be the maximum that a single person is allowed to donate to any candidate during their campaign. So why would Kanye max out his contribution to Hillary and then turn to vote for Donald?

It’s also worth mentioning that Kim Kardashian came out in strong support for Hillary Clinton. Both Kim and Kanye met Clinton and took a selfie with her after hearing her speak last year. It wasn’t until September 2016, right before the 2016 Presidential election that Kim came out with a full endorsement.

“I found that without a doubt, I stand with Hillary,” Kim said. “I’m with her. I believe Hillary will best represent our country and is the most qualified for the job. This year, I’m not just voting for myself, but also for my children, and I took that into careful consideration when I made my decision.”

It sounds like Kim Kardashian put some major thought into why she was voting for Hillary. Considering that she and Kanye are raising the same two kids and have similar family goals, why would their pick for president be so different? Or is Kanye just trying to incite controversy and take a jab at his former friend Jay-Z who played a huge role in Hillary Clinton’s campaign, especially near the end?

Kanye West blasted Jay-Z in a previous concert because he was upset at the way his friend didn’t support him after his wife Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery. Kanye ranted on stage last month that Jay-Z should have visited instead of just called after the terrifying jewel theft. He also went on about missing out on a Drake song because of Jay-Z’s involvement with Tidal and his not wanting to offend Meek Mill.

Is Kanye West’s support of Donald Trump really just a dig at Jay-Z? Kanye is known for saying some of the most controversial things and the 25-minute political rant in San Jose may just be the latest Kanye controversy.

According to Hollywood Life,Jay-Z has already responded to Kanye’s late Donald Trump endorsement. He’s not exactly impressed with the whole outburst. They claim that Jay-Z blasted Kanye for even having an opinion about the 2016 Presidential election when he admitted that he didn’t even vote.

With all the times Kanye West has taken shots at Jay-Z in the middle of his concerts recently, it’ll be a miracle if the two ever make up. There seems to have been frost on their friendship ever since Kanye married Kim Kardashian. There are ample rumors that Beyonce is not a huge Kim K. fan and has made it well-known to her husband. As of recently, Jay-Z seems to have had enough with Kanye’s constant rants both in concert and online.

Was Kanye West’s Donald Trump support the last straw for Jay-Z and proof that Kanye actual threw his support to Hillary Clinton even though he didn’t even bother to vote? Sound off in the comments section below.
