Bernie Sanders Speaks Out, Tells People To Stand Up Against Donald Trump

Bernie Sanders may have lost out on his opportunity to run for president, but he isn’t staying quiet about how it all went down. Us Magazine shared the details about what Bernie is saying about Donald Trump and how he wants the people to not be afraid to speak out against him. Bernie was on The Late Show this week and shared his thoughts on the matter. Bernie started out running for the Democratic presidential nomination, but he later endorsed Hillary Clinton. Now he is dealing with the fact that Hillary didn’t win and Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States.

Right now, a lot of people in the United States are upset about the fact that Trump was elected president. Bernie Sanders realizes what is going on and is speaking out. He feels that Democrats need to change to prevent things like this from happening in the future.

“The [Democratic] party has got to transform itself to be a party which, first of all, opens the door, that is the party that feels the pain of working-class people, of the middle class, of low-income people, of young people … that brings people into the party.”

Bernie Sanders is very confident that most Americans do not agree with Donald Trump or the president-elect’s viewpoints. He shared more of his thoughts.

“Please do not think that all of the people who voted for Donald Trump agree with his sentiments about women or African Americans or his rejection of the science regarding climate change. They don’t. But for a variety of reasons, they did end up voting for [Trump].”

Bernie Sanders believes something is fundamentally wrong when so many people are voting for someone with Donald Trump’s views. He would have never won the election if a lot of people hadn’t voted for him, but Bernie doesn’t think everyone who voted agrees with Trump. Bernie shared why he thinks that America doesn’t agree with Trump.

“On virtually every issue I talk about … the vast majority of the American people are on our side. Trump’s views are a minority. People do not think we should give tax breaks to billionaires. They do believe we should raise the minimum wage and have pay equity for women. They do believe we should make public colleges and universities tuition free.”

Bernie feels that if millions of people stand up against Donald Trump, they won’t end up getting denied. He wants to see everyone getting involved in politics. Bernie feels like change can happen, but only if people are willing to do what it takes.

Yahoo TV shared that Bernie Sanders is also sharing what he thinks could be the worst-case scenario with Donald Trump as President. One issue he sees right now is that we have a Republican-controlled Senate, House of Representatives, White House, and possibly Supreme Court. Bernie feels like this could change the rules to make it easier for Republicans to continue winning elections. Sanders feels like they could actually do away with campaign finance laws.

Right now, Bernie Sanders believes that people need to get involved, but he didn’t share how he thinks people should go about it. Bernie Sanders supporters know that he will not be quiet now that Donald Trump has been elected as President. Bernie wants the Democrats to make sure that they don’t lose their voice.
