‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7: After Episode 4, Will Alexandria Submit To Negan? Rosita Wants Bullets, Episode 5 Trailer Hints Michonne’s Intent

The Walking Dead is certainly building some tension in Season 7. After last night’s episode, it seems that some of Alexandria’s residents have not reached the same level of fear that Rick Grimes had in the aftermath of Episode 1. Episode 5’s “Go-Getters” moves on to the Hilltop Colony.

Negan had obviously made sure there were no loose ends by ensuring everyone in Alexandria was on the same page and that he means serious business. Next Sunday, it looks like Simon is following up with the same mission.

Who Has Accepted And Neglected Alexandria’s Lifestyle Change?

Carl Grimes made a last-ditch effort to stand up to Negan’s men, but Negan put an end to that, so a loose end in the Grimes’ family was tied nicely. At the end of Episode 4, Rick’s revelation to Michonne about baby Judith reflected back on Season 1. Rick had been trying to convince the community just to accept things and go along with this lifestyle change.

Walking Dead actor Andrew Lincoln explained the “watershed moment” typically found with new lovers and would help her accept the bigger picture. Additionally, he will help her adjust to the imposing threat that will be paying them a visit weekly, and Rick talked about not going against the grain all the time. Rick seems to be very forward thinking in the grand scheme of things.

He has accepted Shane’s biological child, Judith, as his own, and Lincoln ties it to the situation of acceptance in the case of being under the thumb of Negan. There should be no need for any kind of heroics except for what Andrew coined as “quiet heroism”, according to Entertainment Weekly.

This sounds like a cross between picking your battles and humility, does it not?

A recent trailer for The Walking Dead Episode 5, “Go-Getters,” indicated that Michonne is still hopeful about standing up to the threat regardless of the “watershed” moment Rick had with her.

This could be easily predicted considering how she was mistrusting of the Governor. She killed his undead daughter, who meant so much to him. If she was willing to do that, she’s willing to take on anything.

Spencer Didn’t Lose His Guts To Negan, But Will Rick Grimes Take Action Instead?

Although Spencer didn’t have his guts slit open on Negan’s first visit, according to the comics, there’s always a chance that Rick will take him out. There seemed to be an escalation at the end, where Spencer seemed to blame Rick’s influence in Alexandria. Spencer’s mother allowed Rick to assume a leadership role, and it looks like Spencer blames him for the lives lost and that a bargain could have been struck.

When he brings up Abraham and Glenn, Rick threatens him with violence. Who is to say that Rick will not end him in lieu of the outcome in the comics?

Rosita, Eugene, And The Bullet Machine

Another lady of Alexandria, Rosita, showed her final decision at the end of Episode 4. The bullet casing that was test fired by Negan may stand to symbolize a counter-strike on his antagonizing visit. Spencer also influenced her decision, and now it looks cemented, according to her rendezvous with Eugene and later the bullet making machine.

Hilltop Rendezvous

Also, where are Maggie and Sasha? Jesus and Gregory from the Hilltop Colony was thought to be returning in The Walking Dead’s Episode 5, per the interpretation of the synopsis by ComicBook.com. In this episode, Jesus was thought to be making his debut in Season 6. Maggie was rumored to undergo a “character unfold.”

“Saddled with grief and surrounded by enemies, members of the group try to find safety at the Hilltop before it’s too late.”

At the debut of Season 7’s first episode, Maggie is still vengeful regardless of Rick’s submission to Negan. Sasha had her back in that episode, so they look to be best friends forever, and if her character mirrors the comics, she could have some kind of leadership role at the Hilltop Colony. Of course, that’s up to Gregory, or is it?

It appears that the episode five promo confirms Jesus, Gregory, Maggie, and Sasha’s appearance. They are also getting a visit from Simon, Negan’s right-hand man. From the footage, it seems Gregory has the same attitude as Spencer towards Rick Grimes’ undoing.

The Walking Dead’s Season 7 story is good at keeping things engaging. Its focus on different characters’ attitudes, beliefs, and opinions keeps audiences and fans thinking. Where do you see these characters going in Season 7 and beyond?

What kind of plan does Michonne have in mind, and do you think Sasha, Glenn, and Eugene will team up and head back to the bullet machine considering that may be their only leverage?

AMC’s The Walking Dead airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. EST.
