As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) revealed her backstory to Stefan Salvatore. The Vampire Diaries Season 8 villain had an interesting past. It turns out that Seline (Kristen Gutoskie) is her sister siren, which came as a surprise. For a few minutes, it seemed like it was Georgie (Allison Scagliotti). Even Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) was convinced of it. However, she ended up dying during Episode 4.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Episode 5 synopsis from Spoiler TV reveals that Stefan will struggle with how to help Damon Salvatore.

“Spiraling down a dangerous path of self-destruction, Damon’s latest actions prove he may be beyond the point of return. Unwilling to give up on his brother, Stefan is forced to make a gut-wrenching decision that threatens to change their relationship forever. Elsewhere, Bonnie (Kat Graham) gets advice from Caroline (Candice King) on how to break through to Enzo (Michael Malarkey), while Matt (Zach Roerig) attempts to decipher a mysterious box of messages that he’s received. Finally, after tragedy strikes close to home, Stefan and the others are forced to remember what matters most to them.”

The extended promo for the next episode of The Vampire Diaries was also released. It shows Stefan at a loss regarding his brother. He doesn’t know what else to do to save Damon Salvatore. In one scene, he says that they need to “put him down.” Would Stefan really consider killing Damon on The Vampire Diaries? He might have been referring to something else. The final scene in the TVD extended promo shows Damon behind a glass window, screaming and banging on it. Could he have been taken to the Armory, just like Sybil? Will they keep him there until they figure out what to do and how to save Damon and Enzo?

Stefan is seen closing a coffin in the extended promo clip. Some fans wondered if Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) returns to The Vampire Diaries in the next episode. However, it is more likely that the coffin belongs to Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino), who Damon killed in Season 8, Episode 4.

Sneak peek photos for The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Episode 5 show Alaric and Seline sitting on the porch and they appear to be having a serious conversation. An image of Alaric and Caroline features the two looking at some document. Caroline Forbes has a shocked look on her face. Damon is at a carnival and appears to be glaring at someone in the distance. Next, Damon grabs Stefan by his jacket and appears to be threatening him. Finally, there is a photo of “Steroline” at the carnival.
