Miranda Lambert Gets Revenge On Blake Shelton, Flaunts Anderson East At The CMAs

After Miranda Lambert divorced Blake Shelton, she decided to stay away from the relationship spotlight unlike her ex-husband, who flaunted his romance with Gwen Stefani. But times have changed, and the 32-year-old singer is now ready to claim what was hers. The recent Country Music Association Awards could probably be her biggest revenge on the 40-year-old country superstar.

The Pistol Annies member was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year while The Voice coach never got any nominations despite the release of his album, If I’m Honest. It is quite surprising that the nine-time CMA Award winner didn’t get any recognition because his album debuted at No.1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. According to USA Today, he sold more than 500,000 copies and released hit songs such as “She’s Got a Way With Words” and “Came Here to Forget.”

No wonder Shelton didn’t bother attending the CMAs because this was probably the first time he wasn’t nominated or invited by the organizers. His absence could have been a big relief for Lambert because she doesn’t have to worry about awkward run-ins with her ex-husband. Even though the blonde beauty didn’t win the award, she still looked like a winner together with her dashing boyfriend, Anderson East.

According to Mail Online, the two are about to celebrate their first year anniversary as a couple, but they still look like they are in the honeymoon phase. The lovebirds walked the red carpet arm-in-arm and posed for the media. Miranda was even spotted staring at Anderson with the look of love in her eyes. The 13-time CMA Award winner changed her outfit from a cleavage-revealing black gown to a black bodysuit for her performance. Lambert sang her heartbreak song, “Vice,” at the event, which reportedly resulted in an explosion of compliments on the internet. The songstress’ emotional performance allegedly brought tears into the eyes of her fans. Her hit single is included in her double-disc album, Weight Of These Wings, which is slated for release on November 18.

Miranda Lambert focused on writing and recording songs after her divorce from Blake Shelton. Since she came out from a public breakup, she finds no reason to hide what she had gone through. Some of her songs could even reveal the reason for her failed marriage, so this is the perfect revenge on her ex-husband. During an interview with Billboard, the singer revealed what people could expect on her new album.

“Every record I’ve ever made has been a reflection of where I am right then in my life, however old I am. And I’ve never held back at all,” she said. “But this time with what I happened to be going through in my life, being honest was never really a choice. Everybody knew anyway. So I just said, I’m gonna journal it, and – good days and bad days – use it for my art.”

Miranda may have won the spotlight at the CMAs against Blake, but he has a chance to win the Favorite Male Artist – Country at the American Music Awards. According to WWGP AM1050, this is his fourth nomination at the AMAs, but he isn’t taking it for granted. He even hinted that this award is better than the other because people get to choose and not a panel of judges.

“It’s always exciting to get a nomination, especially one that’s voted on by the fans, who support us every day by coming out to our shows and listening to our music,” he said. “Thank you all!”

Many fans were hoping to see Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton bump into each other at the CMA Awards because of their collaboration on “Artists of Then, Now & Forever – Forever Country.” The song was produced for the 50th Annual CMA Awards, and it featured other great musicians. The former couple appeared in the music video, but they didn’t perform it live at the event. It seems the video below could be one of the few things that people will see them in together.
