Ariana Grande’s Impersonation Didn’t Impress Britney Spears, Desires To Record A Country Song

Ariana Grande did not impress Britney Spears with her Saturday Night Live impression, according to ET Online. The pop diva was apparently not impressed by Grande’s impression of her, but she still has a few kind words for the “Dangerous Woman” singer.

During one of the segments of the Ariana Grande-hosted Saturday Night Live in March, the “Focus” singer showed off her spot-on impression of Spears’ hit single “…Baby One More Time,” during which she mimicked the pop diva’s distinctive voice.

Ariana Grande has long been famous for her spot-on impressions of celebrities – the “Dangerous Woman” singer has previously done impressions of Rihanna and Celine Dion – but Spears was not so impressed, it appears.

In her interview with London’s KISS FM UK, Spears said that Ariana Grande’s impression of her was “really funny,” but admitted that she has “heard better.” But the “Toxic” singer wasn’t intent on starting a feud with the “Dangerous Woman” singer, as she was quick to add that she digs Grande’s music.

“She’s very good. I love her voice. It’s very smooth. Her real voice.”

During her interview on the Morning Show, Ariana Grande said that when she met Celine Dion, the latter was like, “When I saw you, I peed,” apparently referring to Grande’s impression of the singer during her 2015’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

In other news, Ariana Grande could join the likes of Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert and become a country music performer, according to ET Online. That is, of course, if the “Into You” singer fulfills her grandpa’s dream and crosses over to country music.

In her recent interview with Elvis Duran on the Z100 Morning Show, Ariana Grande talked about her career ambitions and said she is open to doing a country song.

“My grandpa, he always wanted me to do something in the country world. I don’t know if that would ever happen, [but] if that opportunity comes along, I’d have to say, ‘Hell yeah!'”

So Ariana Grande, who has been nominated for two Grammy Awards at the age of 23-years-old, says she got to make that happen someday. And it’s not like the pop singer will have to start from scratch, as she admits she grew up listening to the Dixie Chicks.

Ariana Grande, who is a former Broadway star, also complained that she is keen to get back to the theater. But in no way does it mean that the pop singer, who is preparing to launch her Dangerous Woman Tour early next year, wants to abandon her singing career.

“I love, love, love, love pop music and I love what I do, and I’m very grateful to be able to do it, but my soul misses theater so much.”

But Ariana Grande admitted that she is excited about her supporting role in NBC’s Hairspray Live!, which debuts in December.

“Like, I love it so much. I love being able to be a part of something that, A.) is a musical and B.) also makes people feel good.”

In fact, Ariana Grande thinks the upcoming musical can convey a “strong message.” In her recent interview with ET, the singer said that it’s “crazy” that the modern world is still dealing with the same problems, “the intolerance, the ignorance, the hate and ridiculousness” as in the ’60s.

“It’s just so crazy how this takes place in the ’60s and, like, we’re still working on all that. It’s playful, but also very necessary.”

Ariana Grande has recently confirmed she is dating Mac Miller after making a public appearance with the rapper at Music Festival in Queens, New York.
