‘Walking Dead’ Season 7: Steven Yeun Talks Daryl Dixon And Glenn’s Death In ‘TWD’ – Who Is To Blame? [Spoilers]

The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere was full of insane moments. Even though fans knew for months that Glenn and Abraham would die by Negan’s barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille, it was still shocking to see. Following the episode airing on AMC, Steven Yeun had an interview in which he spoke about Glenn’s death and whether Daryl Dixon is to blame.

TWD spoilers from Season 7 premiere are ahead.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers for the first three episodes revealed who Negan killed in the season premiere. Sometimes spoilers can be dead on while others don’t quite pan out. Even though it was stated months ago that Glenn and Abraham would die, viewers were not sure if this was 100 percent fact or not.

Well, it turns out it was, but that wasn’t the most shocking part of the death scenes. It was how Glenn died suddenly and without warning in TWD. Many people are blaming Daryl Dixon, portrayed by Norman Reedus. It came about because Jeffrey Dean Morgan joked that Glenn’s death was Daryl’s fault on Talking Dead. Even though some fans took his statement seriously, is he really at fault? Steven Yeun doesn’t think so, according to his interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“No. I think Daryl is a character that will blame himself. I think that’s enough for him. Even if it’s not real or even if it’s not accurate or fair, I think he would shoulder that type of burden. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with that and I’m sure Norman will crush it.”

As for Glenn’s death in The Walking Dead, Yeun discussed the character being killed by Negan. He explained that for some, it just wasn’t the eyeball about to pop out of his head. There was something more that made Glenn’s death so heartbreaking.

“My wife watched it and she was just shocked. It wasn’t the gore that messed her up. It was everything that Glenn is, and it all comes rushing back to you in that moment when you see his broken face.”

As for what is coming next on The Walking Dead, AMC released a video interview of the cast and crew. They discussed not only Negan‘s kill and breaking Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), but the future for the group. Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha said that it will be hard for the group to move forward after this. They have always been victorious in the past, but this has completely broken them. Lauren Cohan, who portrays Maggie Greene said that Negan’s actions were unfathomable. How do they move forward and is there any hope left?

The Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 2 is titled “The Well.” Fans will be introduced to The Kingdom and so will Carol (Melissa McBride). A sneak peek video shows Morgan (Lennie James) pushing her in a wheelchair. Carol doesn’t seem too thrilled to be there. Khary Payton will also make his debut as Ezekiel, according to sneak peek photos. It has been teased that the community may not be everything that it seems. This should make an interesting storyline.

What do you think of what Steven Yeun had to say about Glenn’s death in The Walking Dead? Do you blame Daryl Dixon or was it natural for him to jump up after Abraham was killed by Negan? There is a lot more to come and fans are being warned that this is not the worst Negan can do. What else do you expect from Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character in TWD?

A new episode of The Walking Dead airs next Sunday on AMC network.
