Taylor Swift’s Choker Has Some Fans Convinced That Her New Album Is Coming Soon
Could Taylor Swift have offered a clue regarding her new album during a recent concert?
Over the weekend, Taylor Swift performed at the Formula-1 Grand Prix concert in Austin, Texas, and according to a new report, the singer’s wardrobe choice may have been a major hint at her upcoming album.
According to a report by Hollywood Life on October 26, fans are convinced that Taylor Swift’s decision to wear a black choker with her concert ensemble is a sign that new music is coming soon.
“You see, according to them, whenever [Taylor Swift] has a new album she switches up her stage look and since she hasn’t worn chokers to perform in the past, it’s the dawning of a fresh musical era because she wore a different look!” the outlet explained.
Although Taylor Swift has been seen wearing chokers before, Saturday’s show marked the first time she’s worn one on stage.

The outlet revealed that Taylor Swift was due to put out a new album this year because she’s consistently done so every 2 years since her career began and 2016 marks the 2-year point from her last album, 1989, which was released in 2014. In addition, all of Swift’s albums, aside from 2008’s Fearless, have been released in October.
Earlier this month, tons of fans were convinced that Taylor Swift’s new album would be released on October 23, just one day before the 10-year anniversary of her first album’s release, but that day came and went and no album was dropped. Hollywood Life explained that the October 23 date added up to Taylor Swift’s favorite number, 13.
While it would be downright surprising if Taylor Swift’s next release wasn’t put out by the end of this year, it may not happen. In fact, there’s been a major hint that it won’t. Weeks ago, Taylor Swift’s record label head, Scott Borchetta, tweeted to a fan and confirmed that a new album would not be released this year. However, while the tweet should have been a solid denial of her potential 2016 release, Borchetta has since deleted the post, which has many wondering if what he said was true.

When Taylor Swift does finally release her new album, it is sure to be a good one. In addition to her clear musical talent, the singer has gone through tons of drama in recent months. In addition to two breakups, one from Calvin Harris and another from Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Swift was involved in a highly publicized feud with Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, which stemmed from the release of West’s single, “Famous,” earlier this year.
“[Taylor Swift] is handling things well and she is working on music and writing lyrics down all the time especially since she has been involved in so many recent high profile news stories with Tom (Hiddleston) or Kanye (West) and even the Super Bowl speculation,” a source told Hollywood Life in September. “She has a lot of material to work off.”
A new album is “still a work in progress because when she puts something out she wants to fully support it with a tour and television appearances,” the source continued. “She is enjoying a little break so there is still some time for all of that.”
Taylor Swift has not yet confirmed when her new album will be released, nor has she addressed any of the recent rumors regarding the topic.
