Miley Cyrus has declared her allegiance to President Obama last night in a Tweet. The Hollywood star joined a growing list of celebrities who have decided to make their voice heard in the upcoming elections. Cyrus Tweeted a photo of herself in a cut off t-shirt with a picture of the President and his campaign slogan “Forward” telling her universe to “Rock The Vote”.
Cyrus has a history with the Obama family. She performed at the Kids’ Inaugural concert in 2009. She told the Obama girls, Sasha and Malia:
“You girls must be awfully proud of your dad — and so am I.”
Celebrities on both sides of the political isle are lining up to voice their support for either President Obama or Mitt Romney in the upcoming Presidential elections.
Hollywood typically has a far left leaning bias when it comes to politics but this election season is seeing more and more conservative actresses coming out of the political closet and voicing their support for Mitt Romney.
It has not been so painless for such celebrities so far though. Satcey Dash, who grew into fame with her role in the hit movie Clueless, received hundreds of angry messages after voicing her support for Mitt Romney. The Actress received the following message from an agry Obama supporter:
“You’re an unemployed black woman endorsing @MittRomney. You’re voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot,”
Stacey responded by saying that her decision to endorse Romney for President was: “My humble opinion…EVERYONE is entitled to one.”
