Brad Pitt Reunites With Maddox For First Time Since Angelina Divorce Drama

Brad Pitt has finally been able to visit with his son Maddox after the plane incident that reportedly led to Angelina Jolie filing for divorce. TMZ reported that Brad and Maddox were able to meet on Wednesday, more than a month after an altercation aboard a private jet that might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.

According to the report, Brad and Maddox were supposed to meet sooner in an attempt to mend their broken relationship. Pitt has already seen his other children multiple times since the Jolie-Pitt divorce was filed last month, but the family therapist reportedly thought Maddox just wasn’t ready for a face-to-face with his dad until recently. The first time Brad and Maddox were able to see each other since the plane incident that started this divorce avalanche was supervised by their therapist.

Right now, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are following a temporary custody plan put together by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. That custody plan gives Angelina custody of the children while Brad has visitation. Angelina and Brad have six children together; Maddox, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10 and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. In the long run, Angelina Jolie has asked for sole physical custody of the children while Brad has asked for shared custody.

The plane incident is still under investigation by DFCS. People reported that Brad Pitt was verbally and physically abusive with the 15-year old on the flight. That incident is apparently what led Angelina Jolie to file for divorce. The FBI also was involved with the investigation but revealed earlier in the month that Pitt won’t be prosecuted for the altercation with his son.

The Jolie-Pitt family was flying on a private jet from France to Los Angeles mid-September when Brad Pitt began yelling, according to the Daily Mail. That led to a fight with Maddox which became physical although the teen was not injured in the incident.

The Inquisitr previously reported that the family fight was so loud that tarmac workers in Los Angeles could hear the yelling before the plane had even finished pulling in. Angelina and Brad were engaged in a loud argument, and workers reportedly alerted authorities, claiming that Brad Pitt was drunk.

Since the September 14 incident, Us Weekly reports that Maddox Jolie-Pitt wants nothing to do with his famous father. They claim that is why Maddox has not seen Brad yet while the other children have visited with him on multiple occasions.

Maddox is 15-years old, and he legally can choose which parent he wants to live with. At this point in time, Maddox has reportedly not forgiven Brad Pitt for the altercation on the private jet and opted out of all of their meetings up until the one on Wednesday.

It’s unclear if Brad and Maddox were able to mend their troubled relationship with the help of the family therapist during their first meeting. However, finally getting them in a room together certainly is a step in the right direction.

Maddox is said to have a very close relationship with Angelina, and that might be causing some of the rift with Brad. Angelina adopted Maddox back in 2002, and Brad Pitt officially became his father years later. His refusal to meet with Pitt has reportedly upset the Fight Club actor, who desperately wants to mend his relationship with his son in the wake of the Jolie-Pitt divorce drama that shook up the entire family.
