‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 6, Episode 4: History Of Personality Split Serum Explored [Spoilers]

Once Upon A Time Season 6, Episode 4 airs Sunday evening on ABC network. What can fans expect in the episode titled “Strange Case?” The synopsis has been released along with two promo clips.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Regina Mills (Lana Parrilla) will deal with many consequences as a result of her splitting herself in two on Once Upon A Time. Although she was desperate to kill her alter ego, the Evil Queen, the plan backfired. Instead of dying, the Evil Queen survived and is now a completely separate individual. The OUAT villain has been busy causing problems in Storybrooke, especially for Regina, Emma (Jennifer Morrison), and Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin).

The synopsis for Once Upon A Time Season 6, Episode 4 reveals that the current storylines are going to continue. Also, the history of the personality split serum will be explored, according to The Futon Critic. It turns out that Rumple/Mr. Gold had a hand in that. As OUAT fans know, any assistance from him comes with a cost that not everyone is willing to pay.

“The Evil Queen and Hyde (Sam Witwer) continue on their quest to steal Dr. Jekyll’s (Hank Harris) serum; Snow looks forward to her first day back as a school teacher; and while Emma looks forward to Hook moving in with her, Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) finds himself trying to protect Belle (Emilie de Ravin) from Mr. Gold, who has made sure she can’t leave the confines of the pirate ship. Meanwhile, back in the past, Rumplestiltskin helps Dr. Jekyll complete his serum to separate a man’s personality into two – good and evil – but his help comes with a hefty price.”

The first promo clip for Once Upon A Time Season 6, Episode 4 shows things not going well at all for Dr. Jekyll. As usual, Rumple just happens to show up, promising to make things better. However, Rumple’s help always has a high price.

The “Strange Case” promo also features the debut of Jasmine (Karen David) and Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz). The narrator teases that fans will see Jasmine and Aladdin like they have never been seen before. Since OUAT showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are always so good at taking classic tales and providing an interesting twist, it makes fans wonder what will happen with these two on Once Upon A Time.

In the second promo clip for Once Upon A Time Season 6, Episode 4, Mr. Gold takes the scissors and walks into another room. It is clear this is how the show will explain Robert Carlyle’s shorter hair. The actor had to cut it for his role in the Trainspotting sequel. It is clear that he will have to change more than his appearance to win back Belle. However, does he realize that?

On the last episode of OUAT, it was made clear that the Evil Queen and Mr. Hyde cannot be killed. This makes dealing with them difficult. If they can’t be killed, then they will have to be defeated in another way. Can they somehow be reasoned with, will a deal be struck, or will the two somehow be sent away? Since both the Evil Queen and Mr. Hyde are the “bad” parts of Regina and Dr. Jekyll in Once Upon A Time, it seems more likely that they will be fused back into their bodies. They might not go willingly, so they will either need to be tricked or forced, but how exactly will that happen?
