Police: Man Cut Off Girlfriend’s Nipples With Scissors During Argument

A man has been arrested for using scissors in an absolutely horrifying manner. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that 45-year-old Tony Ledbetter attacked his pregnant girlfriend on Tuesday, in an assault that has earned him a laundry list of charges. However, what’s attracting the most attention in the media — and the public — is how he used an ordinary household tool to allegedly commit the gruesome crime.

Police say that the incident began when the South Dakota couple began to argue about their relationship. During the Tuesday argument, Ledbetter allegedly lost his cool and punched his pregnant girlfriend in the face. The victim also claims that he slammed her head onto the ground and choked her with his forearm. To stop her from screaming, the South Dakota man is accused of stuffing a blanket in her mouth to gag her.

While the allegations of domestic violence are bad enough, this lover’s quarrel took a macabre turn when Tony Ledbetter reportedly brandished a pair of scissors. Police say that the man sat on his pregnant girlfriend after beating and choking her. While sitting on her, he is accused of using the scissors to cut off both of her nipples. Fortunately, the victim was able to break free and run for help, exiting the residence. However, the damage had already been done. She was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital, and Tony Ledbetter was taken in to police custody.

This isn’t the first time a pair of scissors has been used in the commencement of a crime. Earlier this year, an Indiana woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed another woman with the household item. Fortunately, the victim survived the alleged assault, but it could have gone far worse. WBIW News reports that 29-year-old Crystal Afanador was charged with felony aggravated battery.

In 2012, a Las Vegas woman was arrested after she murdered her own six-year-old daughter with a pair of scissors. The Daily Mail reports that Danielle Yvonne Slaughter killed the little girl because she “used evil words,” and laughed in an “evil voice.” Many media reports published that the Nevada woman had been taking the diet supplement Hydroxycut, and that she had been sleep deprived at the time of the incident.

Also in 2012, a 70-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly tried to cut off her husband’s penis with a pair of industrial scissors. The Dreamin Demon reported that Virginia Valdez tried to remove the man’s member while engaging in oral sex with him. As for the motive, it remains unclear. However, reports at the time indicated that the Florida couple hadn’t been getting along.

As for this latest case, South Dakota man Tony Ledbetter has been charged with eight counts of aggravated assault and domestic abuse. If he’s convicted, he could see approximately 15 years of imprisonment per each count. In other words, he could find himself in prison for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, there are no updates on the condition of the victim of this horrifying incident. The Argus Leader reports that Tony Ledbetter is currently being held on bond in the amount of $250,000.
