Jill Duggar And Derick Dillard Prepare For The End Of Days As ‘Counting On’ Fans Complain

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s reality TV careers were resurrected when TLC decided to reboot 19 Kids and Counting as Counting On, but the new show’s ratings haven’t been able to match those of the original. However, Jill and Derick’s biggest concern is no longer trying to cling to fame as long as possible. The husband and wife missionary team recently revealed that they are preparing for the end of days, which they believe will be here very soon. In the meantime, Counting On fans just want Jill and her family members to be more entertaining.

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are taking a short break from life in the mission field in El Salvador, but this doesn’t mean that they’re going to stop sharing ministry updates with their fans. In their latest blog post on the Dillard Family website, Jill and Derick reveal that they’re taking Bible classes while they’re back in Arkansas. They’re presumably going to pass what they learn along to the people they describe as the “spiritually dead of Central America.”

Jill and Derick are probably so focused on saving lost souls because they fear that they are running out of time to increase their convert count. Near the end of the couple’s latest mission trip update, Derick shares his belief that the end is near.

“I truly believe that we are living in a generation with unique opportunities that God is using to usher in the Kingdom of Heaven quicker than any of us may realize. And, I love having a front-row seat to just get a glimpse of how God is going to fulfill Revelation 7:9.”

Jill Duggar and her family members haven’t mentioned anything about preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ on Counting On, but perhaps they should consider shooting an episode titled “The Duggars’ Guide to Apocalypse Prepping” — many bored Counting On viewers are praying for fresh storylines like this.

As Us Weekly reports, the October 4 episode of Counting On was all about courtships. The “Guys’ Guide to Courting” took a look back at Jill Duggar and Jessa Duggar’s courtships and engagements, so the episode included a lot of old footage from 19 Kids and Counting. It also revisited the beginning of Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s courtship by reusing a few scenes from this season of Counting On. The show’s producers tried to make things interesting by teasing a possible courtship for another Duggar, but many fans didn’t fall for this popular Counting On tactic. Instead of excitedly speculating about which Duggar will get engaged next, fans flooded the Counting On Facebook page with complaints about the episode. Some disappointed viewers were annoyed by all the recycled footage of the Duggar family walking through past seasons of life.

“I am TIRED of the walks down memory lane…especially when some of the walks were within a couple of months,” Joann Main wrote.

One fan pointed out that most viewers have been watching the Duggars for years, so there’s no need to whip out the courtship rule book over and over again.

“If your going to have a tv show show something new… the people already know the rules of dating and courting for the Duggars the show so far is just repeats of info we know move on with show or else no one will watch,” Diane Coleman commented.

Some fans even suggested that TLC should consider canceling Counting On if the series’ production company is struggling to create enough new footage to fill an entire episode of the show.

“Enough with the looking back stuff already. If people are still watching at this point, they’ve already seen it all and don’t need to see a whole episode full of it again,” Lindsey VanHouten wrote. “If you are lacking content so much that you have to drag every little thing out (i.e. dragging the engagement over at least 3 episodes), then it might be time to reconsider this show. I like the show, but I am tired of re-watching the same thing over and over.”

As the Hollywood Gossip reports, Counting On is already suffering from low ratings, so the show’s producers may want to heed viewers’ calls for new content.
