Are Pink Panthers Behind Kim Kardashian Robbery In Paris? Gang Mentioned As Possible Suspects

Are the Pink Panthers gang behind the Kim Kardashian robbery in Paris? The gang was mentioned as possible suspects, according to a new report.

The Pink Panthers are an organized group of criminals who famously disguise themselves during jewelry heists. They’ve been in existence for nearly 30 years and have stolen an estimated $500 million worth of diamonds in 370 heists.

It’s unknown who’s responsible for the Kim Kardashian robbery in Paris that took place in her apartment on Sunday night, but a source tells Page Six that the Pink Panthers were brought up.

“It was mentioned. They were definitely mentioned,” a source said.

Kim Kardashian was reportedly tied up and held at gunpoint during the robbery.

Rakjo Causevic, a self-proclaimed founding member of the Pink Panthers, has proudly called the gang an ensemble of “gentleman thieves” who avoid violence while carrying out their heists. A year after jewelry belonging to Croatia’s ambassador to Montenegro was found in an apartment that Causevic rented, he described the gang as a “system” that “were never violent.” He called himself a “thief, but a gentleman.”

Daily Mail reports that the Pink Panthers are mainly from Serbia and Montenegro.

“They got their nickname after a 2003 London robbery when a thief hid a diamond in a pot of beauty cream, similar to the plot of one of the Pink Panther movies about an inept French detective played by English actor Peter Sellers,” the report reads.

The Pink Panthers have led heists in Cannes, Tokyo, Singapore, and Dubai. The organized crime network has around 200 people with stealth abilities to rob jewels without engaging in violence. They’ve successfully stolen millions in diamonds by gaining access through a variety of covert moves. These include dressing as golfers, Hawaiian tourists, and fooling people into thinking they’re workmen or police officers.

It’s believed that whether it was the Pink Panthers or other suspects behind Kim Kardashian’s robbery, they did a lot of work to achieve their mission. The famous reality star’s Paris home was on a luxury block called Hotel Pourtalès. Suspects would have had to case the building early on. Security at the building was light… with only a concierge who was swiftly overpowered, bound, gagged, and hidden in a small room in the stairwell of the building. The apartment complex had secret doors that enabled public figures to avoid the paparazzi. This may have been another access point for the robbery suspects.

Kardashian is extremely active on social media and is known to flash all of her bling. It’s possible the Pink Panthers gang were monitoring the jewelry she was wearing after a Snapchat photo that she posted. The 35-year-old was in Paris for fashion week.

According to French police, the robbers masqueraded as police to gain entry into Kim Kardashian’s apartment. The robbers made off with a ring worth $4.5 million and a jewelry box containing about $6 million in valuables.

Kim Kardashian was badly shaken after the robbery, but was physically unharmed. Her husband, Kanye West, was performing in New York during a concert when he abruptly canceled the show citing a “family emergency.”

If the Pink Panthers are involved in the Kim Kardashian robbery, the report explains that the stolen valuables were probably transported out of France within hours. The network is efficient at turning jewelry into cash quickly.

Detectives working on the Kim Kardashian robbery have been communicating with investigators in Madrid, Belgrade, and at Interpol’s headquarters in Lyon. It appears so far that if the Pink Panthers did play a role in the Kim Kardashian robbery in Paris, they have gotten away with it.
