George Clooney’s Wife Fights ISIS, Even On Their Anniversary

George Clooney’s wife, Amal, is no pushover. While she protects ordinary citizens in the courtroom, sometimes she has to go against some heavy-hitters.

As you might expect, George Clooney prefers his wife to be in a safer situation.

What husband would okay with his spouse being in such a high-stakes occupation? Nevertheless, George is still quite the supportive spouse.

According to WUSA-9 News, Clooney’s wife is a human rights lawyer. Currently, Amal is metaphorically going to bat for a Yazidi woman named Nadia.

The source notes George Clooney’s wife as a hero for taking on the Yazidi woman’s situation.

Over the summer, Amal approached the world leaders of the U.N. regarding the genocide ISIS has committed against several innocent people, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Without a doubt, George Clooney is proud of his wife. WUSA-9 reports a quote from Mr. Ocean’s 11, himself.

“Of course I’m proud of her. Yeah, it comes with risk.

“You spend an afternoon with that young woman [Nadia], there’s no way you couldn’t stand up for her. She’s so brave.

“She’s the one who’s the bravest because she’s in the most dangerous [situation]. I think Amal’s decision to [represent her] was, of course, heroic.”

George Clooney mentioned this during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Moreover, WUSA-9 states that Clooney and his wife just celebrated their second anniversary.

According to George, he and his wife encountered a lot of public opposition. Several people didn’t believe Clooney and Amal would last.

“And they said it wouldn’t last. Ah, we proved them wrong!”

While it does feel good to prove naysayers wrong, this wasn’t all George Clooney had to say.

According to him, their anniversary was a civilized one. Although they “mostly drank,” Clooney mentions as follows.

“I made dinner and we had a very romantic second anniversary. Very civilized.”

The source also notes that the happy spouses were specifically drinking Casamigos tequila.

According to People, Clooney notes that his wife is rarely “impressed” by his culinary works.

“I don’t think she’s ever quite impressed with my cooking,” George states. “If I slap something together — spaghetti and meatballs — she doesn’t know that it comes in a jar, so I can just fool her with that one.”

It’s great to see Clooney and his wife persevering the odds.

Celebrity marriages can be difficult. Conflicting schedules, goals, roles, etc. make things far more complex than your “everyday” marriage.

A successful lawyer’s schedule is just as hectic as that of a celebrity actor/actress. So, it’s great that George Clooney and his wife are making things work.

The source notes that Clooney weighed in on the pressures of the entertainment industry as well.

“I think what gets lost a lot is the people that think Hollywood is just everyone actually succeeding and making a lot of money.

“In reality, it’s a business where people struggled and most of the people have a very difficult time just making ends meet.

“So, the fact that this is here for them is something that we all feel responsible for.”

While finances might not be Brad and Angelina’s issue, they are another example of celebrity marriages, but from the other end of the spectrum.

According to the source, George Clooney didn’t have much to say about their divorce. He mentioned that he hadn’t talked to Brad.

At the least, George Clooney and his wife are an example of what persistence and determination looks like in a relationship.

You have to remember that, regardless of what other people say about your relationship, they’re not the people in it. It’s not going to affect them.

George and his wife realize that they are the decision-makers in their connection.
