‘Bachelor’ Stars Ben Higgins, Lauren Bushnell Talk Wedding Plans: Have They Chosen A Date Yet?
Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell fell in love last winter on ABC’s The Bachelor 2016 season, and they have their own spinoff show set to debut on the Freeform network in October. Ben and Lauren have been living together in Denver, Colorado since their finale aired, and fans are anxiously awaiting news regarding a wedding. What’s the latest on this front?
Some Bachelor fans speculated that Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins might end up getting married during the finale of their new show, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?. However, it sounds as if they aren’t quite ready to tie the knot within that time frame. Their supporters should not panic, however, as the two are still anxious to get hitched.
Higgins and Bushnell just spent the weekend in Las Vegas at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, and they shared a lot of updates on the fun they were having via their social media pages. People caught up with them while they were in Vegas, and the Bachelor pair said that they had not set a wedding date yet. At one point, the duo had indicated that they might get married before the year was over. Now, however, they say that it will be in 2017.
Ben said that the nuptials would definitely happen in 2017, and he notes that he and Lauren are really excited about it. Unfortunately, the Bachelor star didn’t go into any detail regarding whether the big day would come early or late in the year. They have said in the past that they are probably open to doing a televised wedding with ABC, should the network choose to go forward with one. Given that, fans can likely expect a winter date considering past franchise history.
Bachelor star Higgins notes that their nuptials will probably be a fairly big event as they want to be sure to include all of their friends and family members, but they want to make sure it’s a size that allows them to have a lot of fun and avoid being overwhelmed. Ben and Lauren did recently have an engagement party in Oregon with their loved ones, but Bushnell says that she hasn’t made it far enough into the process to start trying on wedding dresses.
Lauren does indicate that she has an idea of what she’d like in a wedding gown, though, and she shares that this part of the planning is one component that has her quite excited. Bushnell says that she is hoping to try on dresses with her mom, Higgins’ mom, and her sister Mollie. Could there be cameras following along as either part of a televised wedding special or for Season 2 of Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After? It’s too soon to know the answer to the question for certain, but fans are hoping that will be the case.
The lovebirds may not have pinned down a wedding date yet, but they did just hit a milestone worth celebrating. While Ben and Lauren were in Las Vegas, they celebrated the one-year anniversary of when they first met on The Bachelor. E! Online notes that the duo celebrated with plenty of Bachelor Nation besties, but they also got to spend time with both Ben’s parents and hers as they were all in Vegas as well.
Some may worry that choosing to do a reality television show of their own could doom this Bachelor engagement as that is something that tends to happen often when couples showcase their lives on TV. However, Higgins and Bushnell say that their relationship comes first, and they aren’t worried. Will Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell follow through with a wedding in 2017 as they’ve teased Bachelor fans? Their fans certainly hope so and cannot wait to see updates as the planning comes together.
