Brad Pitt: Rehab In Actor’s Future After Angelina Jolie Divorce? Conflicting Reports Question Pitt’s Next Move

Could Brad Pitt be headed to rehab?

After allegations that the actor has a marijuana and alcohol abuse problem, at least one unnamed source is indicating that Pitt could check into rehab in an effort to win back his family.

According to the source for Hollywood Life, the 52-year-old actor is willing to make a commitment to Angelina Jolie and his children, and if going to rehab is what it takes, that’s exactly what he will do, the unnamed source said.

“Brad is allegedly vowing to get sober and is hoping this will make Angie reconsider leaving him. He’s even allegedly saying he’ll go to rehab and she doesn’t have to agree to take him back until he has 90 days sober, so she knows it’s not just a fleeting commitment. He knows so much of their issues have to do with his drinking and pot smoking, and he’s reportedly swearing that if he gets clean, their marriage will be great again.”

But according to another source, the rumor that Brad Pitt is going to rehab just isn’t true. Gossip Cop reported on Sunday that the story is “totally false.”

“The premise and quotations have been fabricated by the fiction enthusiasts at the habitually discredited webloid [Hollywood Life]. A mutual friend of Gossip Cop and Pitt guarantees us the site’s story is “totally false,” and that “no such discussions ever happened.”

Brad Pitt has been at the center of a media whirlwind since news broke that his wife of two years, Angelina Jolie, had filed for divorce. As the story developed, it was alleged that Jolie was fed up with Pitt’s reported substance abuse and anger issues.

Subsequent reports indicated that the filing followed an altercation aboard the family’s private jet which involved Brad and the couple’s oldest son, Maddox. What exactly happened aboard the jet is unclear, but Pitt is now being investigated by the FBI for alleged child abuse. Sources close to Pitt acknowledge that the situation “escalated more than it should have” but insist that Pitt would never physically abuse any of his children.

Nevertheless, Angelina asked for full physical custody of the couple’s six children, though she acknowledges that she is willing to give Brad visitation rights. Jolie has not asked for financial support.

Together, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had six children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, Knox, 8, and Vivienne, 8. After news of the divorce broke, Jolie’s attorney, Robert Offer, insisted that the 41-year-old “Maleficent” actress made the decision “for the health of the family.”

Little has been said by either party since the news of the divorce became public, but reports indicate that Jolie has barricaded herself and her children inside a rented home for the time being. Brad Pitt released a statement asking only for privacy for his children.

“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Prior to their marriage in 2014, Brangelina had been together for more than a decade. In the past, the couple has said they only opted to get married at the urging of their children.

What do you think of the news that Brad Pitt could go to rehab? Do you think it would be a good move for the father who “is terrified” of losing his children? Why or why not?
