Could Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Be Reunited By Jon Voight? Pitt Hopes Jolie’s Father Will ‘Play Peacemaker,’ Source Reports

Could Jon Voight be the answer for the Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorce?

According to an unnamed source for the Daily Mirror, Pitt hopes that Angelina Jolie’s father could help mend fences in the divorce saga.

“Brad [Pitt] has made an effort to make contact and is keen to try and improve the situation between them. He’s hoping his good relationship with Angelina [Jolie]’s family will help to build bridges. He’s spoken to her dad Jon [Voight] and hopes he may be able to play peacemaker. It’s a very tricky time for the family but Brad hasn’t given up hope yet.”

Unfortunately, as noted by Hollywood Life, Voight may not be all that much help. After all, Jolie and her famous actor father went for nearly a decade without speaking to one another and only reunited a few years ago.

And during an interview on Inside Edition, John Voight admitted that he didn’t know what had caused the Angelina to make the decision to leave Brad.

“Something very serious must have happened for Angie to make a decision like this. I don’t know what it is. It’s a sad thing. Say a little prayer. I am concerned for Angie and the children and hopefully I will be seeing them very soon.”

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt on Monday citing only irreconcilable differences. Brangelina had been married for more than two years and had been in a relationship for more than 12 years. Together, the couple have six children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, Knox, 8, and Vivienne, 8.

Jolie has requested sole physical custody of the couple’s six children but indicated that she would be willing to allow visitation rights for Pitt. She did not ask for financial assistance.

As the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie divorce story has continued to develop, questions have been raised about Pitt’s alleged marijuana use and reported anger issues. Several news outlets have reported that Jolie’s decision came after an altercation between Brad and Maddox aboard the family’s private jet, which has reportedly led to an investigation of child abuse by the FBI. Jolie’s attorney Robert Offer told reporters that the decision to file for divorce was made “for the health of the family.”

Likewise, allegations from Pitt’s camp claim that Jolie is an unfit parent as her ambition to become head of the United Nations has allowed her to put her children in situations that Pitt believes are unsafe. According to TMZ, those situations include travel to Iraq and Lebanon.

Regardless of why the divorce came about, one thing is becoming increasingly obvious: Both Jolie and Pitt are struggling with the divorce. Hollywood Life reported that Brad Pitt is “terrified” of losing his children, and People reported that Angelina Jolie is “in agony” over the breakup of her family.

In his statement to People, 52-year-old Brad Pitt asked only for privacy for his children.

“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

What do you think of the idea that Jon Voight could swoop in and help Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt patch things up? Do you think Brangelina could ever be saved? Why or why not?
