Baltimore Shooting: Three Gunmen Wound Multiple People In ‘Planned’ Shooting Victims Include A Toddler And Her Father

According to The Washington Post a three-year-old girl, her father, and an eight-year-old boy were among the multiple victims of the Baltimore shooting which took place on Saturday night during two separate incidents. Police believe this planned shooting was a retaliatory attack. Police have also reported that none of the wounds on anyone who was shot during the Baltimore shooting appeared to be life threatening.

The 3-year-old girl and her father were among eight people who were shot at roughly 8:30 p.m. Preston Street near Greenmount Avenue located in the center of Baltimore. Witnesses say the girl and her father were off to the side of the other people the Baltimore gunmen open fired on that were standing on Preston Street. Many of the witnesses and police believe the toddler was an unintended target.

According to The Huffington Post, a spokesman of the Baltimore Police Department has told reporters during a news conference that the shooting is believed to be a response to the fatal shooting which occurred on Labor Day leaving one person dead and many people injured.

Police have reported that they believe three gunmen were involved in the Baltimore shooting. Two of the gunmen were believed to be wielding handguns while a third gunman was holding a longer gun that many believed may have been a shotgun.

At this time, police believe this attack was retaliation for the shooting on Labor Day which left one man dead and two women wounded.

“This was a planned, premeditated act of retaliatory violence.” said Baltimore police commissioner Kevin Davis.

Based on how witnesses were reporting what had happened, Davis went on to say that one of the Baltimore gunmen appeared to “emerge from a dark alley” while the other two gunmen came from down the street. Davis also said the age of the little girl who was one of the victims during the shooting may cause people – and even the shooters – to struggle to accept the fact that this violent act really occurred. He believes the gunmen who shot the 3-year-old deserve more than just to be placed in the jail. His exact words were that they should be placed “under the jail.” He even said that he did not misspeak and that is exactly what he meant and wanted to happen to the shooter who shot the three-year-old.

The eight-year-old boy was shot during an earlier shooting which also took place in Baltimore. The boy was believed to be unintentionally hit with a bullet during what is being referred to as a “running gun battle.” There were a dozen shots fired and the boy was accidentally hit in the foot. According to police, a second person was wounded during that shooting which occurred on South Smallwood Street at roughly 6:30 p.m.

While police have reason to believe both incidents are connected and both are retaliatory attacks following the Labor Day shooting, they have yet to give any more details as to why they believe this.

In addition to the little girl and little boy, one of the victims was a woman and the rest were men. The adults wounded in the attack range between the ages of 26 and 39. Baltimore police revealed on Twitter that none of the injuries from the first or second shooting were believed to be life-threatening, but they never went into any additional details regarding any of the victims.

Baltimore police cordoned off more than three blocks of the city late on Saturday night in order to keep people away from the scene. They used flashlights to search the grassy areas near the scene where the shooting took place.

At this time no additional information is available regarding whether the police are still looking for the gunmen or whether the gunmen have been apprehended. This story will be updated as more information regarding either the victims or the gunmen becomes available.
