Dolores Catania On Teresa Giudice’s Family: ‘The Issues Began With Their Parents’

Dolores Catania is new to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but she has been a friend of Teresa Giudice for a long time. It sounds like Catania joined the show to be a friend to Teresa, who has been trying to make peace with her former friends, including Melissa Gorga and Jacqueline Laurita. Dolores has been keeping herself out of the drama in regards to Giudice’s family, but since she has known Giudice for so long, she does have some comments about what went down on Sunday’s episode of the show.

According to a new Bravo report, Dolores Catania is now revealing that Italians fight hard, which is why Teresa, Kathy Wakile, and Rosie Pierri are so passionate about their individual arguments on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. It’s clear that this family is struggling with some deep issues that run years back, and it probably won’t be solved over a simple Sunday dinner.

“We Italians are extremely passionate people -– we love hard and we fight hard!” Dolores Catania points out on her Bravo blog for The Real Housewives of New Jersey, revealing that Italians often have a hard time letting go of things from the past.

“We usually have a really hard time putting an end to our arguments -– it’s not easy for us to just let things go. When Italian people fight, it’s like a war that goes on for years and years. Usually, no one will remember why it started; it just goes on and on and on, through generations. The Giudice/Wakile ongoing issues are no exception. Based on what I’ve been told, the issues began with their parents, and unfortunately, it didn’t end there,” Dolores Catania continues on her blog.

This would explain why Teresa has such a hard time letting go of something Kathy and Rosie’s mother said a few years ago before Giudice was sent to prison. She revealed that people get what they deserve, hinting that she would be going to prison because she deserved to go. Dolores Catania may understand why Teresa is so upset about this comment since she had expected her family to stand behind her.

In addition, she had asked all of her friends and family members to not talk about her legal issues in public. Even though Kathy and Rosie were in their private homes, the Bravo cameras were present, which meant that the comments were shared with the world. Dolores Catania may understand why the family needed to talk about the issue to make sense of what was going on, but she may also understand why her friend is upset.

“History often repeats itself, but in my own life, I’m determined to make a change and evolve from the way that I was raised, for my own sake and for the sake of my children. I’ve been working hard to adjust to all of the new things that are going on in my life. My kids are becoming more and more independent, and I’m becoming more and more independent! In the beginning, I had a hard time coming out of my comfort zone, but with time I’ve adjusted just fine and am pulling my weight,” Dolores Catania explains of her own situation, revealing that she would probably settle the parents’ drama so it didn’t continue through generations.

Even though Wakile and Pierri really want to make peace and settle the family feud, too much damage may have been done already. The Real Housewives of New Jersey veteran may not be willing to settle the feud, as she feels more comfortable keeping her distance. And Catania may understand her friend’s position and decision to not rush into a fake friendship with her cousins.
