Kevin Owens Interested In Wrestling Brock Lesnar: ‘I’d Love To Get In The Ring With Lesnar’

It looks like Brock Lesnar will be involved in a storyline with SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon when he returns to action, but once he’s done with Shane O’Mac, he may be moving on to Raw’s WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens.

During an interview with Sirius XM’s Sam Roberts, Kevin Owens said that he would love to get in the ring with Brock Lesnar at some point, although he’s unsure if it’ll ever happen. Of course, Owens’ name has been brought up for quite a while when people talk about dream opponents for “The Beast,” but so far, WWE hasn’t made that match happen.

“I’d love to get in the ring with Lesnar. I don’t know if it’s ever gonna happen, but I’d love to.”

Owens also said that he’d be interested in working with UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor if he ever decided to do anything with WWE.

Before the very first WWE Universal Champion was crowned at SummerSlam, there was a rumor going around that Brock Lesnar was going to challenge for Raw’s Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. So, the original plan may have been to do Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar in January, but Balor ended up getting hurt, and he’ll likely be out of action until WrestleMania 33.

It looks like Kevin Owens may hold onto the WWE Universal Championship for several more months, as Seth Rollins, who will be challenging him for the belt a this Sunday’s Clash of Champions, will probably get screwed out of the title again by Triple H, as Rollins and Triple H will likely clash at WrestleMania next spring.

If WWE is still planning on having Lesnar challenge for the Universal Title at the Royal Rumble, then he’ll probably end up facing Kevin Owens. But, as previously mentioned, it looks like Lesnar will be wrestling Shane McMahon upon his return. Of course, WWE fans are hoping that Shane will end up bringing in Goldberg or Samoa Joe to face Lesnar, but for now, it looks like we’re going to get Lesnar vs. Shane at either the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania 33.

If you look at the Raw brand, which Lesnar is a part of, he’s wrestled every top guy there with the exception of Kevin Owens. So, if we don’t see Owens vs. Lesnar at the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania 33, we could end up seeing it at next year’s SummerSlam.

Other dream opponents for Lesnar include Finn Balor, who, as previously mentioned, won’t be able to return to the ring until next spring; AJ Styles, who is currently on SmackDown; and Samoa Joe, who is currently down in NXT. So we’ll probably end up seeing Lesnar take on Owens before he takes on Joe, AJ, or Balor.

As for who Kevin Owens will be facing after he’s done with Seth Rollins, well, there’s really only one guy for him to face, and that’s Roman Reigns. Of course, Reigns could end up walking out of this Sunday’s pay-per-view as the United States Champion, as he’s set to challenge Rusev for the U.S. belt. But, if he walks out of the show without the gold, he may end up challenging Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship at either the next Raw pay-per-view, or at Survivor Series in November.

If you’re one of the many people who is hoping to see Kevin Owens take on Brock Lesnar, well, you’ll probably have to wait for at least six months to see it, but, realistically, it probably won’t happen until next year’s SummerSlam show, which is a little under eleven months away.
