‘Dr. Oz Show’ Under Fire For Editing Out Donald Trump’s Comment About Kissing Daughter Ivanka

The Dr. Oz Show is drawing a lot of criticism after it was revealed that a comment Donald Trump made about kissing his daughter, Ivanka, during a recent appearance was conveniently edited out by the producers of the show.

Donald Trump appeared on the Dr. Oz Show Thursday, where he revealed his much-anticipated medical records. Coming on the back of Hillary Clinton’s disturbing medical episode, the appearance was meant to allay fears about the Republican nominee’s health, and thanks to the reality showmanship of Dr. Oz, that is exactly what transpired.

Later, media organizations were awash with reports of how Trump was in “excellent physical condition,” with most even complimenting him for his “good” testosterone level, which, it is fair to say, also a drew a long applause from the audience at the Dr. Oz Show.

However, one important and perhaps equally creepy detail was conveniently cut out by the producers of Dr. Oz Show, as reported by MSNBC‘s Peter Alexander. It happened when Ivanka Trump joined her father during the pre-taped show on Wednesday, and Trump, in his characteristic style, kissed Ivanka to greet her.

As The Wrap reports, Dr. Oz then said something along the lines of, “It’s nice to see a dad kiss his daughter.”

But while that should probably have been that, Trump took the compliment to a whole new level. According to The Hill, Trump told Dr. Oz and the audience that he liked to kiss Ivanka at every opportunity he gets, or, in his own words, “as often as I can.”

When the interview aired on Thursday, Trump’s comment about kissing Ivanka was conspicuously left out of the show. When journalists noticed this omission, they called out on the producers of the Dr. Oz Show, with Peter Alexander even warning his viewers before talking about the segment.

This is not the first time that Donald Trump has made creepy comments about his daughter Ivanka. As far back as 1997, the New York Times reported about Trump going around asking strangers if the then 16-year-old Ivanka was hot.

“‘Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?’ Ms. Lee recalled him saying. ‘I was like, ‘Really?’ That’s just weird. She was 16. That’s creepy.”

In 2006, Trump was once again criticized for discussing whether his daughter would ever pose for Playboy magazine during an appearance with his daughter on The View.

“It would be really disappointing — not really — but it would depend on what’s inside the magazine. I don’t think Ivanka would do that, although she does have a very nice figure.

I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

In 2013, according to the Independent, the real estate mogul had told radio host Howard Stern that his daughter had the “best body” and had made a lot of money as a model.

Just last year, Trump told GQ that Ivanka was “really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father.”

While a dad greeting his daughter with a kiss during a TV appearance would have probably gone unnoticed in most cases, the fact that Trump’s subsequent comment about kissing Ivanka at every opportunity was cut out by the producers of Dr. Oz Show demonstrates that it was considered too creepy to air, or too inappropriate at the very least. Moreover, Donald Trump’s well-documented history of sexism, coupled with his history of saying clearly distasteful things about his own daughter, must make Americans wonder if he is someone who should occupy the most powerful political chair in the world.

What do you think of Trump’s comments? Do you think they are genuinely creepy in light of his previous comments about Ivanka or do you think the whole episode has been blown out of proportion?
