Will Taylor Swift Trash Tom Hiddleston On New Album?

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston — “Hiddleswift” — are no longer together. After weeks of trying to convince anyone and everyone of how in love they were, the alleged lovefest is over. People said the split was “amicable.” However, a Us Weekly source shifted the blame to Hiddleston as to why things didn’t work out for the pair.

“She was the one to put the brakes on the relationship,” a source close to the couple tells Us. “Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up.

“Now that they’ve split,” the source says, Hiddleston is “embarrassed that the relationship fizzled out.”

The Daily Mail seemed to suggest that Tom was in deeper than Taylor, and gossip sites repeatedly brought up a possible marriage. That raises an interesting question: was Hiddleston using Swift solely for publicity, or was he truly in love and wanting everyone to share in the magic?

Whatever the situation, we’ll probably be getting a musical rundown via Taylor Swift herself. It’s pretty much par the course for the pop/country singer to make references to her relationships — especially after things turn sour.

But that’s just it: things didn’t exactly turn sour between Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston. At least, not enough to seemingly justify a “heartbreak song” where yet another man has wronged her. There just doesn’t seem to be enough to this three-month fling to justify any possible attempts to make Tom Hiddleston look bad.

And if Taylor Swift were to try to do so, things could go wrong very fast.

For better or worse, Tom Hiddleston has a very young and loyal fanbase who will likely not stand for “Loki” being bashed in any way, shape, or form. An attempt by Swift to do so could lead to a steady stream of negative attacks and social media harassment. And that’s just his fans.

The “Hiddleswift” love affair was laughed off by many as a fake relationship. Perhaps it was the “I (heart) T.S.” shirt.

Trying to paint someone willing to wear that shirt in public as “the bad guy” may backfire on Swift in a big way. Instead, Taylor may choose to avoid this by playing nice or poking harmless fun at the brief fling. Swift has laughed at herself and public opinion before; this situation could inspire an catchy upbeat song.

So, let’s say that Taylor Swift either treats Tom Hiddleston with kid gloves or fails to feature the relationship in upcoming music. Does this mean that we won’t be hearing bad things about former flames? That depends on whether Taylor Swift has the nerve to tackle her other recent ex-boyfriend: Calvin Harris.

Believe it or not, this situation might prove even trickier than trying to bash Tom Hiddleston. Remember when Taylor Swift’s sources implied to People that Calvin Harris purposely failed to credit her for “This Is What You Came For?”

In case you’ve forgotten, Calvin didn’t take the insinuation lying down. One quote to a gossip magazine inspired a Twitter rant that had all of social media buzzing. We can only imagine the epic fallout if Taylor chose to air her grievances via song. Of course, she might have to hope Harris didn’t beat her to the punch.

Even if that wasn’t the case, there’s nothing to prevent Calvin Harris from hitting back at a Swift-diss, musically. In fact, Taylor Swift seems to be reaching a place in her life where people might be tired of her going on about her ex-boyfriends and failed relationships in general.

Perhaps the situation will inspire Swift to talk about something else — or go in a direction no one would have predicted. For now, many are betting that someone is getting bashed by Taylor Swift on her new album. It’s just a matter of who.
