‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For September 9, Bad Juju Abides All Helmets

Bungie updated Destiny Thursday, but should PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players expect some surprises from Xûr, Agent of the Nine for the weekend of Friday, September 9? Not necessarily, but you may want to start stocking up on Three of Coins and using them frequently as there are reports Rise of Iron Exotics are already dropping.

This weekend, Xûr can be found across from the Speaker in the Tower North. Simply head to the left when you first spawn in the Tower, and you’ll find him standing in front of a large, round door across from the speaker’s entrance. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, September 11. He will be gone as soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Bad Juju

The Bad Juju used to reign supreme with Voidwalker Warlocks despite having one of the more difficult quest chains. Its use has toned down some for Year Two, but the power of the “String of Curses” intrinsic perk is hard to deny. It reloads the fully automatic Pulse Rifle weapon automatically after each kill and gives a small damage boost. Every kill also provides bonus Super energy, the benefit of which should be obvious. This is a must get for those who have not been fortunate enough to get it from Destiny’s random loot drops.

An Insurmountable Skullfort

Destiny players with Sunbreaker Titans may have a new best friend for PVE. The Year Two version of An Insurmountable Skullfort has a new, innate perk that grants an extra melee attack in addition to free melee energy on spawn. This synergizes excellently with the new “Melting Point” ability for Sunbreakers that provides a significant debuff to enemies and works well with Defender Titans’ “Overshield” perk.

Other perks on the helmet include the choice between “Hands-On” or “Heavy Lifting” to give extra Super Energy from melee or Heavy Weapon minion kills. It also comes with the “Invigoration” perk that grants bonus melee energy when picking up Orbs of Light.

The split 48 Intellect and 49 Discipline stat roll is decent but does not provide support to the helmet’s primary punching perk. Consider re-rolling to maximize your Strength with Glass Needles if needed.

ATS/8 Arachnid

The ATS/8 Arachnid is for Hunter Gunslingers in Destiny. The “Arachnid Sensorium” intrinsic perk keeps the Golden Gun active for about 4 seconds longer and gives the Super ability a potential accuracy boost via a zoom lens. Meanwhile, it also comes with the optional “Ashes to Assets” and “Second Thoughts” perks for bonus super energy when killing minions with grenades or Heavy Weapons. The final column perk is “Invigoration” to gain bonus melee energy on Orb pickups.

The pure 75 Intellect stat roll combined with Inverse Shadow will be helpful in getting the Golden Gun out more often. There is not much need to re-roll this piece using Glass Needles.

Apotheosis Veil

The Apotheosis Veil lost its uniqueness from Year One when Bungie introduced the Infusion and Better Already perks in Year Two. This resulted in the helmet’s intrinsic perk being boosted to grant full health, melee, and grenade energy when activating a Super.

The optional perks have the right roll with “Inverse Shadow” for extra Super energy from minion kills and “Second Thoughts” for bonus Super energy from Secondary Weapon kills. The third column perk is set as “Innervation” with bonus grenade energy after picking up Orbs of Light.

The 47 Intellect and 47 Discipline split stat roll is decent for the helmet. Re-roll only if you have different stat needs for your Guardian’s current, but try to keep “Inverse Shadow.”
