Miley Cyrus Dead? Rumor Claims Singer’s Lifeless Body Was Found In Her Bathtub, Miley Reacts To Reports

Is Miley Cyrus dead?

That’s what a clickbait website wants fans to believe. On Monday, the fake news website published a fake news story indicating that Miley Cyrus’ dead body was discovered by her entourage. According to the report, Cyrus’ entourage found her body in her bathtub in her Hollywood home.

The rumor simply isn’t true, according to Hollywood Life. The celebrity news website went so far as to share Miley’s reported reaction to the death hoax. According to an unnamed source for Hollywood Life, Cyrus finds the reports of her death to be “hilarious” — though Miley is reportedly disappointed in the way that she allegedly died.

“Miley thinks that it is hilarious that she is the latest celebrity to be caught in the death hoax. When it happens again she hopes the people who make the hoax think of a more clever way on the reason for her demise since the bathtub reason was pretty weak for her more morbid sense of humor.”

Hollywood Life isn’t the only website to bust the news that Miley Cyrus is dead. Rumor-busting website Snopes is also reporting that the rumor of Miley’s Cyrus’ death is not true.

In fact, according to Snopes, the website that published the report that Miley Cyrus is dead is a clickbait site fishing for the personal information of readers.

“There was no truth to this report. Now8News is a clickbait fake news site that masquerades as a local television news web outlet, trafficking in sensationalist and outrage-provoking fabricated stories (including celebrity death hoaxes).”

This isn’t the first time that rumors indicating Miley Cyrus is dead have spread across the internet. In fact, the same website published a story about Miley’s death in November of 2015, and the rumors have gained traction once again because the story was updated on Monday, Snopes reported.

As noted by Hollywood Life, the activity on Miley Cyrus’ Instagram account supports the theory that the “Wrecking Ball” singer is not actually dead. On Monday, Cyrus posted an adorable throwback photo of herself on her first birthday. Additionally, she’s posted two more photos on Tuesday, including a promo for The Voice.

In recent months, Miley has had a constant presence in the celebrity gossip headlines as rumors fly about her relationship with fiance Liam Hemsworth. Most recently, rumors indicated that the couple may already be married and that Miley is pregnant with Liam’s baby. Unlike the rumors that indicate Miley Cyrus is dead, the rumors of a Miley Cyrus-Liam Hemsworth marriage and pregnancy have not been confirmed or debunked.

Cyrus is just the most recent in a list of celebrities who have had to deal with death hoaxes in recent weeks. In early August, Angelina Jolie was the subject of a suicide rumor, and in early July reports indicated that John Cena had been killed in a car accident. Both rumors turned out to be false. As noted by Snopes, Miley Cyrus has been the subject of death rumors and death hoaxes on numerous occasions.

What do you think of the rumor that Miley Cyrus is dead? Do you think the death hoax reports put forth by fake news websites are tactless? Why or why not?

What do you think of the way Miley is reportedly handling the news of her death? Should she handle the situation with humor? Why or why not?
