Rihanna Meme Guy: Teen Sees Rihanna On The Streets Of New York, Priceless Reaction Becomes Instant Internet Meme

A teen saw Rihanna on the streets of New York, and that moment was photographed as his priceless reaction became an instant internet meme.

Who is this guy? And how did he get captured during this perfect moment that inspired this meme?

According to Daily News, the man in the picture is a New York teen and sales associate named Jonathan Galunas.

Jonathan Galunas, 18, was heading out to go shopping at Top Shop just like any ordinary day when he found himself standing a few feet from one of the biggest stars in the world: Rihanna.

Galunas said he was definitely a fan of Rihanna, according to Buzzfeed.

“I love Rihanna. Who doesn’t love her? She’s gorgeous.”

The sales associate was shocked enough to have seen the star in person, but what was even more shocking for the teen was to find that his priceless reaction had been turned into an internet meme that had already been shared thousands of times.

Jonathan had been caught so off guard when he saw Rihanna that he hadn’t even thought to take a picture to capture the moment, but plenty of other people sure did.

Jonathan was super surprised to learn that his image had become such a popular internet meme.

The user Twitter user @chronicdrews first posted the meme. Jonathan created his own twitter account @urgirlsigcrush and retweeted the meme.

Jonathan had said that he was not actually on the phone when he spotted Rihanna in the streets, he was listening to music and was about to take his headphones off when the photo was snapped of him.

The teen said that he had seen a bunch of people whipping out their cameras and cell phones but it wasn’t until he turned to the side that he caught a glimpse of the one and only Rihanna that he understood why.

“I was in shock, I couldn’t believe I just saw Rihanna. I was literally a couple of steps away from her.”

Jonathan admitted that he was confused by the internet meme at first and all of the attention he was receiving because of it. After more and more people reached out, he began to join in on the fun.

Clara Guerrier, one of Galuna’s co-workers, was one of the first people to tell him about the viral meme.

The teen said he has noticed that more people have begun staring at him on the subway. Jonathan has reached out to the girl who made the meme about him on Twitter, @chronicdrews.

The internet has taken the Rihanna meme and ran with it. Jonathan’s photo has been retweeted, shared, and posted thousands of times since @chronicdrews first posted the meme.

The Twitter user @chronicdrews insisted that she had no idea how the photo “blew up” on the internet the way that it did, but both she and Jonathan agreed that their phones had been going off all day because of the meme.

“No one really knows who I am, but they know my face. Your face is around the world now.”

Jonathan has become an internet star in the course of a week over one priceless reaction that happened to be caught on camera.
