‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers: Damon Salvatore Is Judge, Jury, And Executioner

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 is nearly here. What can fans expect when The CW network airs new episodes of TVD? Spoilers tease that Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) will be serving the evil entity. He will be judge, jury, and executioner.

There are spoilers ahead. Please do not continue reading if you don’t want to know what to expect when the show returns.

On the season finale of The Vampire Diaries, Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) were affected by the creature that was inside of the Armory’s vault. Once the episode ended, all viewers knew is that the two vampires were missing and dozens of bodies were hanging in a warehouse. Let’s not forget that super creepy smile on Damon’s face.

With the Season 8 premiere of TVD getting closer, what can fans expect? According to a spoiler report from Entertainment Weekly, Damon Salvatore is going to be judge, jury, and executioner. Of course, it is not Damon that is doing the judging, but the creature who is controlling him. Executive producer Julie Plec told the publication that the mystery monster has some strong opinions on what should happen to those who do bad things. Obviously, the villain is exempt from punishment or she would be punishing herself.

“Damon has unfortunately become a little bit of a servant to an evil who has an opinion on what should happen to people who do bad things. He’s a little bit of a minion at the moment, and we’ll have to learn who he’s a minion for and why.”

In an interview with TV Line, Ian Somerhalder teased that viewers of The Vampire Diaries would get to explore the push and pull associated with Damon’s predicament. From this statement, it sounds like the elder Salvatore brother is going to be busy fighting the unknown creature that has taken over his body and mind.

“You think Damon’s having a lot of fun… that’s the perception. It’s twisted, dark s**t, man. Damon is super cool, calm, collected… one of the characters that live with a lot of free will. When you take that free will away, they’re [Damon and Enzo] forced to do things that they don’t want to do, that’s when you get this push and pull contrast. That conflict is very cool to play.”

Other spoilers for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 have to do with Bonnie Bennett, played by Kat Graham. As fans recall, she not only lost Damon and Enzo, but her magic as well. Will she get it back when The CW series returns? Julie Plec told TV Line that the current debate has to do with Bonnie’s magic. She said witches have a solution for everything and she would like the group to get as far into Season 8 as possible without relying on supernatural powers. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it sounds like Bonnie won’t be getting her magic back right away, if at all.

The Vampire Diaries is entering its final season. Many fans wonder how Season 8 will end. Will the characters all live happily ever after? Or will it end with death, destruction, chaos, and turmoil? Viewers have their own ideas on how it should go down, but so do cast members. Ian Somerhalder wants Elena (Nina Dobrev) to have never known the Salvatore brothers. Paul Wesley agrees with his co-star. Kat Graham doesn’t mind if Bonnie lives or dies, as long as she goes out being strong.

What do you think is going to happen with Damon, Stefan, Caroline, Bonnie, and Alaric on TVD? Fans won’t have too much longer to wait. The Vampire Diaries Season 8 premieres on September 25 on The CW network.
