Larry King Is ‘Completely Embarrassed And Anguished’ By Wife’s Sex Tryst

Larry and Shawn King have been married for 19 years, but that doesn’t mean they were ever safe from scandal as Larry recently discovered when Shawn’s year long affair first came to light. Sources say Larry is devastated by the discovery that his wife has been secretly meeting with Richard Greene over the past 12 months, and King says he’s still in a state of shock over learning the truth. Knowing where to go from there is still something he hasn’t yet determined.

Larry King Reacts To Shawn Southwick King’s Infidelity

While the affair between Shawn King and Richard Greene has yet to be officially confirmed, sources close to the King family tell People magazine that the alleged infidelity did, in fact, take place. One unnamed source reveals that 56-year-old Shawn told Greene that her marriage to 82-year-old Larry was over, but that seems subject to opinion, considering the deeply emotional response Larry has had since discovering the affair.

“It’s true, and Larry is completely embarrassed and anguished by all of this,” the source told People. “He doesn’t know what to do.”

This isn’t the first time Larry King and wife Shawn have experienced trouble in their relationship. The couple filed for divorce in 2010, and it seemed the end of the relationship was imminent, but they later reconciled. Proceedings for the divorce were halted three months into the process.

“A lot of new things are happening to us, and we are happy to be together as a family with our children,” Mr. King said in a statement following the reconciliation.

In May of that same year, Shawn King was hospitalized. after having been found unconscious with a bottle of prescription medication nearby. At the time, it was suspected that Ms. King might have been trying to commit suicide with the pills, which had been originally prescribed to treat her migraines.

King also released a statement following that incident in which he vowed his devotion to both his children and his wife, assuring the public that the whole family would help Shawn get through her troubles.

Richard Greene Enters The Picture

Who is Richard Greene? While the name may not be familiar to most of us, Daily Mail reveals that his clients are all too familiar. Mr. Greene is described as a public speaking guru who has worked with such notable celebrities as Princess Diana, Naomi Campbell, and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. Richard was introduced to Shawn through his profession when he was invited to appear as a guest on Larry King’s show and on the podcast run by Shawn King, Back and Forth with Shawn & Larry King.

A former lawyer, Greene left the legal profession to focus his talents on helping celebrities perfect their public speaking abilities. Richard has also authored the book, Words That Shook the World: 100 Years of Unforgettable Speeches and Event.

It has been suggested that Shawn King has hopes of molding Greene into becoming the next Larry King.

The news of the affair between Shawn and Richard became apparent when racy texts between the two associates were discovered. Daily Mail reveals that one text in particular hints that Larry King was suspicious of the tryst.

“Larry made another joke about me having an affair last night … He said I looked cute in my glasses like a school teacher… having an affair with one of my students,” texted Shawn. “He senses a shift in me.”

It’s reported that another text, this one sent by Richard Greene, was an adoration of Shawn

“You do have great ankles, legs, eyes, brain, breasts, mouth, vagina etc. etc.”

There are more texts with Shawn King explaining why she hasn’t already left Larry for Greene, citing her sons as reasons to stay in a loveless marriage. Shawn said she was concerned that the boys wouldn’t be raised with proper discipline if she left the household.

“He’s heartbroken,” a friend of Larry King told Daily Mail over discovering the affair. “He’s embarrassed and furious.”
