Is Tom Cruise Leaving Scientology?

tom cruise rumors

Tom Cruise, Scientology’s most famous member, may be distancing himself from the controversial church, if rumors are accurate. Although a report about the star’s alleged parting of the ways with the religious group does not state he is no longer a practicing member, that has not thwarted internet buzz about a supposed insider’s claims.

The Top Gun star has allegedly inched away from the controversial church and has been spending time with friends outside of the religion.

A Radar Online source had this to say about Tom Cruise:

“Tom hasn’t admitted that he’s definitely leaving Scientology for good. But he’s distanced himself from those in the church and has been hanging out with good friends who aren’t a part of the religion. Tom’s been leaning on friends who have different perspectives, getting advice on moving on from Katie as well as on everything else he’s been going through with Scientology. He’s finally seeing that being such an advocate for Scientology hasn’t served him as well as he’d hoped. He’s gone through three divorces and his public perception has sunk to an all-time low.”

Cruise, 50, is also allegedly making a mental pros and cons list regarding the damage his affiliation with the controversial organization, which some consider a cult, has done to his romantic relationships. The drama surrounding the megastar’s personal life may settle down before the release of his crime thriller, Jack Reacher, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Both the Radar Online source and hundreds of online posters believe the living away from his daughter, Suri, played an integral part in the actor’s soul searching.

Do you think the geographical wedge between darling daughter and doting father will prompt Tom Cruise to permanently leave the Church of Scientology?

He's not known for his mental prowess admittedly, but how dim do you have to be not to see what's right before your face? Taking the head of the cult on your honeymoon should be a clue to most people.

I agree, I do not think he will leave Scientology but I do think it is good that he is searching for different perspectives. He is 50 now, no longer a "youngster" and he probably is wondering what the rest of his life is going to be like since he is past his prime. Three divorces should make one think, especially if at least two of them was based on the effects of Scientology. I think he either has to leave or get married to a bonafide hard core Scientologist. Can't really see any other options if he wants the rest of his years to be contented and happy.

He is so deeply entrenched in his religion I find this article hard to believe. He has never seemed to care what the public thinks of it or him either so I kind of doubt this one.

How could Tom leave? They have so much dirt on him, and knowing their tactics they would blackmail him to stay. Remember when those homosexual allegations of Tom surfaced a few years ago? And after they quickly died down he became the $cientolgy evangelist he is, or was, today? He called their bluff and then realized they were serious. The best he can hope for is them letting him leave, under a contract that he says he is still in. They would release all his dirt and sue his ass. Scientology is a legit CULT people.
