Madonna Urges Fans To Vote For The ‘Black Muslim in the White House’

Well, at least Madonna’s heart seems to be in the right place. The entertainer who has been on her MDNA tour since May has caused controversy on the road, but it hasn’t been with her racy live performances but rather what she says in between her set list.

This time around while taking a few minutes to rest at her concert in Washington, D.C., Madonna urged her fans who shouted for her in the Verizon Center to “vote for the black Muslim in the White House.” Now, over the years Madonna has been very vocal about her liberal-geared feelings, so one could deduce that she was only being sarcastic and mocking people who still think Obama is Muslim, but her delivery, if anything, really didn’t do much to save her from the awkward moment.

In her full statement, Madonna said to the enthusiastic crowd:

“In 1864 … Abraham Lincoln was President of the United States right? And what was he fighting for? To abolish slavery right? And they killed him as they do all the prophets. And 100 years later Martin Luther King Jr. came here to march in the civil rights movement and he won but they killed him as they do. And now it is so amazing and incredible to think that we have an African-American in the White house! … Y’all better vote for f***ing Obama OK? For better or for worse alright we have a black Muslim in the White House. Now that is some s***. That is some amazing s***. It means there is hope in this country. Obama is fighting for gay rights so support him god******.”

In the past, Obama has said that he is not of Muslim faith and instead practices Christianity. This odd endorsement doesn’t seem to help Obama with his campaign even though he has had famous faces come out in droves to support him during this election year. Do you think Madonna’s endorsement could have been worded better?
