Angelina Jolie Is Not Dead: Suicide Hoax Has The Actress Saying Goodbye In A Video That Goes Viral

False claims from bogus websites state that Angelina Jolie committed suicide in a CNN video. This is another hoax video, similar to the Jaden Smith purported suicide video that does not exist.

The fake news titled “CNN Video Footage: Angelina Jolie Says Goodbye to Her Fans and to Brad Pitt Before Doing This Suicidal,” has been circulating on Facebook. The story appears to be legitimate, but a closer look will show you a suspicious link.

It is the same website responsible for all the other fake celebrity death stories that have been going viral in the month of August 2016.

The fake stories are generated in the hope that Facebook users will click the link and give the spammy site permission to post on your Facebook page. The hook is the fake video, which many users believe is real and risk giving their social media information to see it.

It is unclear why Facebook is having this influx of spam and what the social media giant is doing to prevent these celebrity death rumors.

The top Google searches for Angeline Jolie include “Angelina Jolie dead,” Angelina Jolie suicide,” and “Angelina Jolie says goodbye.” These are all people searching to confirm whether the link they saw on Facebook is legitimate.

Snopes, which found the story to be false, explains how the hoax sites work.

“This death hoax generator site publishes stories under a wide range of URLs using various Facebook apps. While the sources differ from hoax to hoax, they all attempt to perpetrate the same scam: A salacious Facebook post, typically claiming that someone famous has passed away, is used to lure users into giving a scammy app permission to view and/or post to their Facebook page. This ensures that the scam circulates on social media and allows the site to scrape users’ personal information.”

Angelina Jolie, who has been married to Brad Pitt since 2014, has been writing and producing her recent films.

Jolie directed the 2015 film, By the Sea, and she has two films she produced coming out this year and in 2017.

The couple has been plagued with divorce and adoption rumors. However, the A-list duo seems to still be happily married.

According to the Telegraph, in an interview last year, Angelina Jolie talked about her marriage to Brad Pitt while discussing her film. She talks about them having the same issues that most couples go through.

“Brad and I have our issues, but if the characters were even remotely close to our problems we couldn’t have made the film. To be clear: we have fights and problems like any other couple. We have days when we drive each other absolutely mad and want space, but the problems in the movie aren’t our specific problems.”

The 41-years old actress has six children with Brad Pitt. In 2013, the actress revealed that she had a preventive double mastectomy after learning that she had almost a 90 percent chance of developing breast cancer.

Both her mother and grandmother had died from cancer, and by having the surgery, the actress lowered her chances of developing breast cancer to under five percent.

Jolie met Brad Pitt on the set of a film Mr. and Mrs. Smith while he was still in a relationship with Jennifer Aniston.

In an interview where Angelina Jolie is talking about working with Brad Pitt again, she recalls what is was like the first time they worked together.

“When we first worked together it was very different because we didn’t really know each other and we were young and, it was really a fun film, so we thought, maybe By the Sea was going to be that kind of fun, but realized very quickly that it wasn’t.”
