Selena Gomez Disses Justin Bieber In Vogue Australia? She Wants A Low-Key Romance
Selena Gomez discussed her high-profile relationship with Justin Bieber in Vogue Australia and revealed her desire for a more low-key romance.
As Bieber continues to be seen with a number of different women, most recently model Sahara Ray, 24-year-old Selena Gomez spoke to the publication about her relationship struggles.
“The guys that do have the confidence to hit on me are not necessarily my type, but they think they are because I’m a pop star, I sing songs, do movies, I like to feel sexy and confident on stage,” Selena Gomez revealed to Vogue Australia magazine, according to an August 8 report by Hollywood Life. “I’d be so stoked with a writer or producer or actor who is low-key, but those kind of guys are terrified of me!”

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, 22, haven’t been spotted together since March of this year when Gomez showed up to Bieber’s “Purpose World Tour” show at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. However, due to their tendencies to get back together frequently, “Jelena” fans continue to stay hopeful for a future reunion.
Back in December of last year, Selena Gomez and her former boyfriend were assumed to be on the verge of a reconciliation when they were spotted walking together in Beverly Hills before Bieber serenaded his ex-girlfriend with the song “My Girl.” Then, just days later, Bieber’s on-again, off-again flame, Kourtney Kardashian, 37, was spotted leaving his hotel room. Weeks after that, he went on vacation with Hailey Baldwin.
“I think people would think it’s kind of dumb (to date me),” Selena Gomez continued. “Nobody would want to throw themselves into that situation where it was so heightened publicly, like, why would they?”
According to a second report, via the Daily Mail, Selena Gomez told the publication that she has struggled to be taken seriously as an artist because her “private life was the most talked about thing.”
“I feel like that fortunately and unfortunately it’s where my life is at the moment and I have to accept it,” she explained.
Aside from Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez hasn’t been in a long-term relationship with anyone, but she has been linked to a number of male celebrities. In fact, she’s been linked to One Direction singer Niall Horan and actor Orlando Bloom on multiple occasions. Most recently, Gomez and Bloom were romantically linked after Bloom was spotted with his arms around the singer in a VIP booth at her “Revival World Tour” after party in May.

Although Selena Gomez would rather be known for her musical talent than her relationships, she has discussed her romance with Bieber on a few occasions. In February of this year, while talking to W Magazine, Selena Gomez appeared to be completely over the situation and told the magazine she was “exhausted” by the endless attention surrounding her and Bieber’s on and off relationship.
“I honestly am so done. I care about his health and well-being. But I can’t do it anymore,” Selena Gomez said, via Hollywood Life.
Since earlier this year when Selena Gomez went on a couple of dates with Samuel Krost in New York City and Los Angeles, the singer appears to have remained single and focused on her music. Currently, Gomez is in the midst of her “Revival World Tour,” which recently took her to Australia for two shows in Melbourne and will continue with shows in Sydney and Brisbane before she heads to New Zealand.
