Milwaukee Father Sean Flowers Allegedly Said ‘Jesus Will Forgive Me’ While Drowning Infant Son [Video]

Sean Flowers, a Milwaukee father, has been formally charged with the drowning murder of his 3-month-old son. The incident took place on July 30 during a family party. According to reports, during the party, the Milwaukee father got angry with his girlfriend, the infant’s mother, and responded by taking the baby from her and exiting the apartment where the party was taking place. Immediately after, he allegedly did the unthinkable.

As CBS News reports, because Milwaukee father Sean Flowers was upset with the baby’s mom, he took his baby son to a pond near the family party and drowned the infant in cold blood. There were reportedly multiple witnesses to the 25-year-old father’s alleged crime. Some of the witnesses allegedly risked their lives to try to save the baby.

It has been reported that a large group of witnesses to the tragedy “tried desperately” to intervene, but somehow were unable to stop Sean Flowers from carrying out the drowning of his 3-month-old infant child. One of those witnesses was Robert Amstadt. According to Amstadt, he wasn’t close enough to the scene of the drowning to intervene, but he will be shaken by what he witnessed for the rest of his life.

“[It was] the most evil thing I’ve ever seen.”

Another witness, Jobe Griffin, described what happened when he tried to save the life of the 3-month-old infant, Sean Flowers III.

“Without thinking — I just ran into the water. I yelled at him, ‘Where’s the baby? Where’s the baby?’ And then I saw a baby floating in the water. I grabbed it. I tried to swim away with it. He lunged at me and took the baby again and swam further, deeper. We all lost. We all lost this one. No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, sometimes you just lose. No matter how hard you try. You just wish you could’ve did more,”

Witness Amstadt told the media that he saw Milwaukee father Sean Flowers calmly walk into the pond, which exists to collect storm water, calmly carrying his crying infant son. Then, according to the witness, Sean Flowers simply sat in the water, which rose to his chest from a sitting position, with the baby’s entire head submerged.

“That baby cried all the way out into the water. Then the crying stopped.”

Another witness to the alleged crime committed by Milwaukee father Sean Flowers reportedly tried to convince him to give up his hold on the infant. The onlooker reportedly followed Flowers into the water and begged him to hand the baby over to safety, but the Milwaukee father refused to release his baby son. It has also been reported that Flowers punched his own sister in the face during the incident.

Reportedly, prior to the drowning of the infant, Robert Amstadt claims to have heard the Milwaukee father and his child’s mother loudly fighting outside. According to some of those who witnessed the altercation, Sean Flowers was angry at his girlfriend for dancing at the party, and told onlooking family members that she didn’t work or take proper care of the pair’s children. Amstadt claims that a woman, later identified as the mother of the murdered 3-month-old, was screaming for Sean Flowers to return her child to her.

“Give me back my baby.”

According to a statement later made by prosecutors, Sean Flowers admitted that he told the child’s mother what he intended to do with the baby. Other witnesses to the crime reportedly tried to prevent Milwaukee father Sean Flowers from taking the baby into the pond, but were unable to stop him.

Law enforcement reports that when they got to the scene, it required the use of a stun gun to subdue and handcuff the enraged and combative Flowers. An emergency official who responded to the distress call removed the lifeless infant from the water; however, officials were unable to revive the baby despite repeated attempts.

According to one witness at the scene of the unthinkable tragedy, Milwaukee father Sean Flowers cited the Bible during his alleged horrific crime. One onlooker recounted the words he claimed came from the mouth of Sean Flowers as he allegedly killed his small son.

“Abraham killed his son Isaac, Jesus will forgive me.”

He also reportedly said he was going to hell as he tried to fight off police, who had to drag him from the pond where he was halfheartedly attempting to drown himself.

“[He said] he was going to burn in hell for killing his son and the police would be blessed for saving him.”

On Tuesday, the Milwaukee father was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and his bail was set at $1 million. If he manages to be released from custody on bail, he is ordered not to contact the mother of the murdered infant, with whom Sean Flowers reportedly also has a toddler.

According to court documents, this isn’t the first time the Milwaukee father Sean Flowers has been in legal trouble due to a violent episode. In 2015, the murdered infant’s mother reportedly filed for a protective order after Flowers allegedly attacked her. Family members reported to law enforcement that the couple had been going through a lot of personal drama for a long time.

It has also been reported that Sean Flowers’ child support payment amount was set to increase next week.

Sean Flowers has reportedly been scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 11; if convicted, the Milwaukee father faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
