Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Indulge In PDA Backstage After Stirring DNC Performance

Katy Perry rocked her speech and performance at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, June 28, and no one in the room was as proud as her boyfriend Orlando Bloom.

Perry took the stage at Wells Fargo in Philadelphia to deliver a powerful speech in support of Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton prior to performing her new track “Rise” and smash hit “Roar.”

“Both of my parents are pastors and staunch Republicans,” Katy told the audience. “I did not finish high school and unfortunately, I don’t have a formal education, but I do have an open mind, and I have a voice.”

“So I am asking you to have an open mind and to use your voice, because on November 8, it will be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist,” she continued. “You will have as much say as any billionaire… Because it’s not where you come from but what you grow into.”

“I love Hillary. I have saved messages on my phone from HRC. You know I’ve got a closet full of Hillary-themed dresses!” she added.

During Perry’s performance, Orlando Bloom played the doting boyfriend as he adorably filmed the 31-year-old singer using his smartphone. Looking at the video, one can tell that the Pirates of the Carribean actor was proud of her performance. The “Fireworks” singer’s performance has generated a lot of buzz across all media channels so it’s not in the least surprising that Orlando looked visibly charmed.

In fact, Bloom was so thrilled by Katy Perry’s performance that he immediately approached her backstage as soon as she wrapped up her set. As reported by Hollywood Life, Bloom was spotted taking the singer’s hand backstage and then leading her through the crowd towards a place where he could be with her in private.

“Orlando Bloom is such an adorable boyfriend. He filmed Katy Perry the whole time she performed. Relationship goals,” one Twitter user wrote. Another user tweeted, “Orlando Bloom is recording like a good boyfriend should ”

Orlando looked sharp at the DNC for his lady love, wearing a black jacket over a white shirt. Perry, on the other hand, looked stunning with a skin-tight silver and nude striped long gown.

After the performance, Katy and Orlando were spotted sitting next to each other in the audience just when Chelsea Clinton was about to introduce her mother Hillary.

Dating rumors between Perry and Bloom started when they were spotted getting cozy at the Golden Globes party in January. By May, the “Dark Horse” singer confirmed the rumors by posting on Instagram her first official photo with the British actor, in which they were seen sprawled on the steps of of a luxury hotel, as reported by The Inquisitr.

Perry and Bloom were last spotted together earlier this month dining at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood. Back in May, they both attended the amfAR Gala at the Cannes Film Festival.

A source for US Weekly said that the two are “so into each other” and that “they’re full speed ahead” despite facing split rumors after photos of Bloom indulging in PDA with Selena Gomez went their rounds on the internet in May.

After almost eight months of dating, Perry and Bloom, by all appearances, are still into each other. If Hillary wins, it goes without saying that Orlando will be Perry’s date when she gets inaugurated as the President of the United States.

Katy Perry, a staunch supporter of the Democratic Party for years, endorsed President Barack Obama when he ran for a second term in 2012. She also brought then-boyfriend John Mayer, 38, as her date to Obama’s swearing-in ceremony.
