Ariana Grande Lost White House Gig Over Donut Licks, Did She Lose Ricky Alvarez Too?

Ariana Grande was vetted by the White House for a possible performance for the president, but her donut-licking scandal cost her the job. According to Gawker, emails about Ariana Grande were leaked when WikiLeaks published thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee. The hack including a thread detailing the reasons why Grande was rejected to perform at a White House gala late last year.

In the leaked emails, Ariana Grande is discussed in a lengthy correspondence between DNC Finance Chair Zachary Allen and several other White House employees. While Grande’s criminal record was deemed clear, the donut fiasco did her in.

Ariana Grande was caught on video last July licking fresh-baked donuts that were placed by an employee on a counter at Wolfee’s in Lake Elsinore, California. Later in the video, Grande, who was with rumored beau Ricky Alvarez while at the pastry shop, was caught saying she hates America.

In his email, White House staffer Kevin Snowden highlighted the offenses against Ariana Grande when debating her worthiness to perform for the president.

“Ariana Butera – video caught her licking other peoples’ donuts while saying she hates America; Republican Congressman used this video and said it was a double standard that liberals were not upset with her like they are with Trump who criticized Mexicans; cursed out a person on Twitter after that person used an offensive word towards her brother.”

White House employee Bobby Schmuck had a two-word response regarding the possibility of using Ariana as a White House singer, “Nope, sorry.”

Ariana Grande paid her dues when the fallout happened, but the embarrassing incident still continues to haunt her. After TMZ posted a video of Grande and her rumored boyfriend, backup dancer Ricky Alvarez, wreaking havoc at the donut shop, Grande did major damage control. Grande publicly apologized for the incident during an appearance on Good Morning America, saying she was sorry to “disappoint so many people who love and believe in you.”

“My behavior was very offensive and I apologized,” Ariana said last year. “There’s no excuse or there’s nothing to justify it.”

“I think that as human beings we all say and do things that we don’t mean at all sometimes and we have to learn from it, I mean, it’s part of our process. We have to learn from our mistakes and that’s how we grow.”

Ariana also posted a lengthy video apology (you can see it below), and later told Us Weekly she is proud to be an American and that she loves her country.

“What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the donuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words,” Grande told Us.

That “friend” was Ricky Alvarez, the unconfirmed boyfriend that Grande was seen licking donuts with and later kissing. Grande hasn’t come out and said that Ricky Alvarez is her boyfriend, but the two have been a rumored couple for more than a year.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Ariana said all was good between her and her backup dancer, Ricky.

“We’re happy. I’m a very happy girl. I have a healthy life right now, and I think that’s all anyone cares to know. The end,” Ariana said.

But now rumors are swirling that Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez have called it quits. Hollywood Take captured several posts that Ariana tweeted then deleted on Saturday night. Grande wrote that she felt “free and happy.” She later alluded to a big life change with a series of tweets that she kept on her Twitter page. While Ariana recently debuted a new ‘do (she got bangs), the tweets seem like they’re about more than just hair.

“Life is wild,” Ariana wrote. “And change is f***ing fantastic… Why do y’all always gotta be right about everything.”

Some followers also noted that Grande appears to have removed some photos of Ricky Alvarez from her Instagram page. While Grande and Alvarez haven’t announced a breakup (or a hookup, for that matter), fans took to Twitter to speculate, and some of them responded to the pop superstar’s post with a #WeLoveYouAriana hashtag.
