Hillary Clinton’s Email Troubles Resurface: Wikileaks Releases Email Dump That Proves DNC Derailed Bernie Sanders’ Campaign

Hillary Clinton’s email troubles have resurfaced two days before the Democratic National Convention kicks off in Philadelphia.

On Friday, as promised by its founder Julian Assange last month, Wikileaks released an email dump it said are from the accounts of the Democratic National Committee officials. Although Wikileaks did not mention the source of the emails, reports suggest that Romania based hacker, Guccifer 2.0, who had claimed that he had hacked into the DNC’s server in the middle of June, could have been the source that helped Wikileaks gain access to the files.

The release could significantly dent any momentum Hillary Clinton might have been hoping to build before being officially nominated as Democratic Party’s presidential candidate. According to The Daily Caller, several of the emails exchanged between top officials within the DNC evidently showed that the Democratic Party and its chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, worked in collusion to derail, if not completely sabotage, Bernie Sanders’ campaign.

For instance, especially in the latter stages of the primary season, it appears that DNC officials worked hard to push an anti-Sanders narrative. In an email DNC press secretary Mark Paustenbach wrote to director Luis Miranda on May 21, just days after the the contentious Nevada state convention that Sanders supporters claimed had been rigged by party officials, he wrote how the DNC might have to urge journalists to write Bernie Sanders’ campaign was “a mess.”

“Wondering if there’s a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never ever had his act together, that his campaign was a mess.

“Specifically, [DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz] had to call Bernie directly in order to get the campaign to do things because they’d either ignored or forgotten to something critical.”

Other emails reportedly show how DNC chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, had assumed that Bernie Sanders was not going to be the eventual Democratic nominee. Schultz has been heavily criticized by Sanders supporters, and also several sections of the progressive media, for being unfavorably disposed toward their candidate ever since the beginning of his campaign.

As the Inquisitr reported in May, accusations against Debbie Wasserman Schultz range from her setting up debates between Hillary Clinton and Sanders on weekends allegedly to keep the Democratic front-runner insulated, blocking Sanders’ campaign from accessing the Democratic Party voter database in December, and in Bernie Sanders’ campaign manager Jeff Weaver’s words, “throwing shade” at the Vermont senator’s campaign ever since he had announced it last year.

While Schultz has continually attempted to evade the accusations by reiterating her commitment to neutrality, emails released by Wikileaks clearly show that was not the case.

In response to an email Luis Miranda wrote to Debbie Wasserman Schultz after CNN had reportedly aired a section where Bernie Sanders had said that he would oust the chairwoman if he were elected, Schultz says that Miranda need not worry because Bernie “isn’t going to be president,” reports The New York Times.

“Do you all think it’s worth highlighting for CNN that her term ends the day after the inauguration, when a new D.N.C. Chair is elected anyway?” Miranda asks.

“This is a silly story,” Schultz writes back. “He isn’t going to be president.”

In yet another email that Brad Marshall, the chief financial officer of the committee, wrote to both Mr. Paustenbach and Amy Dacey, the committee’s chief executive, Marshall asks both of them ways to somehow confront an unnamed person — apparently, Bernie Sanders — with his faith.

“It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps.”

Another email chain reveals MSNBC‘s Chuck Todd and DNC staff members discussing how to discredit Mika Brzezinski’s call for Wasserman Schultz to resign, according to The Observer.

There are several other email chains that, apart from showing the DNC’s disdain towards Bernie Sanders and his campaign, also prove that the DNC violated its own charter by favoring Hillary Clinton as the Democratic presidential nominee much before the primary season was even underway.

It must be noted here that these are just some of the emails out of the nearly 20,000 emails that Wikileaks released from the DNC server. If reviewing only a handful of emails so clearly underlines the DNC’s collusion in helping Hillary Clinton clinch the nomination — through allegedly unfair means — one can only imagine what really might have transpired within the DNC walls during the entire course of the primary season.
