‘The 100’: The Flame To Play Big Part In Season 4? [Spoilers]

Warning: The 100 Season 4 spoilers are ahead.

The 100 Season 4 is currently being created, and the writers often post clues on Instagram. What can fans expect when the post-apocalyptic show returns to The CW network early next year? It turns out that the Flame might play a big part in next season’s storyline.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, on the Season 3 finale of The 100, Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) showed up in the City of Light to help Clarke (Eliza Taylor). It was a surprise appearance since Lexa died earlier in the season. Even though she is still dead, it is clear that Lexa lives in the Flame with all of the other deceased Commanders.

There were many storylines that were wrapped up in “Perverse Instantiation – Part Two,” except that nobody knows who will replace Lexa as Commander. It can’t be Ontari, because she ended up being brain dead. It seems that a lot of decisions have to be made, but Lexa is the one that needs to choose her successor.

Recently, the writers of The 100 posted a drawing of a sun with 13 rays on Instagram. The number of rays can refer to the Grounder clans. As fans may recall, in Season 3, Lexa wanted to make Arkadia the 13th clan, but Pike (Michael Beach) refused. Instead, he continued his anti-Grounder mission and recruited Bellamy (Bob Morley) to be his right-hand man. As for the sun, one fan commented that it could refer to the Flame.

This could be a big clue that the Flame will play a big part in Season 4 of The 100. It won’t be the major theme, though. It seems that the nuclear disaster will be the main focus. This means that Alie (Erica Cerra) was either telling the truth about the power plants or was only being partially honest. The Sky Crew will have six months to figure out how to stop the crisis from happening, find a safe place to hide out, like Mount Weather, or discover the four percent of the Earth that will not be affected by it.

Other clues that were teased by The 100 writers include a scientific formula, “Ninja Octavia,” a sketched face that looks like Bellamy with what appears to be a coffin as the nose, and more.

What else is known about The 100 Season 4? According to TVLine, there will be two new Grounders when the series returns to The CW network. Hugo is in his 20s and is described as being physically intimidating. He is a natural leader, but he has issues regarding the acts he committed while under Alie’s control.

The second new character in The 100 is Kenza. She is a bit younger than Hugo and set aside her sword a long time ago to live a more religious life. Nothing else was revealed about Kenza, and it will be interesting to see how she plays into Season 4. Could she be named the new Commander, since before Lexa’s death, she wanted to try a more peaceful way of dealing with things? Will she help the Sky Crew, work with Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) on her anger issues, or will she pick up her sword once again? There is no telling, but hopefully, the storylines will just as gripping as before.

What do you think is going to happen in The 100 Season 4? Will the Flame be a big part of the new season and if so, who will be the new Commander? Could Lexa choose Kenza to be her successor in leading the Grounder clan? Or will she pick someone else? What are your thoughts on the new Grounders, Hugo and Kenza? Fans will have to wait until January 2017 to find out.
