‘The Vampire Diaries’: Nikki Reed Supervising Ian Somerhalder On Set – Reason Nina Dobrev Not Returning In Season 8? [Rumor]
The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will premiere this fall on The CW network. Fans have been waiting for Nina Dobrev to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert on the television show. Although there are rumors she will return by the season finale, it was teased that the actress might not appear this year. It was also reported that Nikki Reed joined her husband, Ian Somerhalder, on set. Is she supervising Somerhalder, and is that the reason why Dobrev may not return in Season 8?
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, no decision has been made on whether The Vampire Diaries will end with Season 8 or be renewed for Season 9. Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW network made this clear in a conference call. Even if Season 8 is the last, there might be a chance that Nina Dobrev will not appear or only will make a brief comeback. Is this because Nikki Reed is on set with Ian Somerhalder? Even though the media loves to take celebrity gossip and spin it negatively and to the extreme, it is highly unlikely that there is any jealousy between Nikki Reed and Nina Dobrev. Sorry to disappoint, but chances are Nina Dobrev might not make it into Season 8 because of her schedule, not because of jealousy. According to Zap2It, the former TVD actress has been extremely busy this year. She landed a few movie roles and is busy promoting xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, in which Dobrev plays Becky. The trailer of the action-packed film was just released, and Dobrev even posted a photo on Instagram related to the film.
As for Nikki Reed, she and Ian Somerhalder seem very happy together. They celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in April, and couples spending every moment together is not that unusual. Ever since Nikki and Ian started dating, they have been together at nearly every event. Happy couples have a tendency to want to spend time together.
Even though Reed went to dinner with the cast of The Vampire Diaries, so did Paul Wesley’s girlfriend, The Originals star Phoebe Tonkin. There was even a photo of Kat Graham smiling widely and leaning close to Nikki, suggesting that the cast members have no problem with Reed. If there were any serious jealousy issues, the cast would know about it and would probably not be too happy to get close to Reed.
Previously, executive producer Julie Plec said that Nina Dobrev agreed to return to The Vampire Diaries before the show ends. This made “Delena” fans happy, and many assume it is going to be before the Season 8 finale. However, even if this season is the last, it really depends on Dobrev’s schedule. She may become too busy with other projects. Even if she is given plenty of advance notice, a gig may come up that is too good to pass up.
