Jennifer Lopez Developing Broadway Musical About Her Life Amid Working On New Album

Jennifer Lopez might be landing her own Broadway show based on her life, it has been revealed.

The mother of two, who is currently headlining her own residency in Las Vegas, feels very passionate about the project and is convinced that fans would love to see her life story retold in the form of a musical.

The box office numbers she’s managed to pull in with the Vegas residency are strong signs that the demand for everything J.Lo is higher than ever, giving Lopez all the more reason to drift into the lane of Broadway musicals, where she’ll wear the producer cap to put together a captivating play.

According to Star magazine, Jennifer Lopez feels very passionate about the project and has already thought everything through — from what the story will entail to whom she’d want cast.

It’s a very fun and uplifting Broadway show, Stuff cites the outlet saying that documenting Jennifer’s life from a dancer in the Bronx to suddenly landing her big break, moving to Hollywood, and now being known as one of the most successful entertainers in the world. The struggle, the sacrifices, the ups and the downs will be played out in a storyline that has yet to be developed.

Fans have already gushed on social media, saying that Lopez’s move to have her own Broadway show focused on her life is long overdue, with one fan describing the news as “inspiring to the Latino community.”

Another fan continued by saying that, out of all the celebrities in Hollywood, only a handful of Hispanic and Latinos have managed to be as successful as Jennifer. The Broadway play will just be another addition to the endless achievements Lopez has earned herself over the course of 17 years in the entertainment industry.

The 46-year-old “envisions a project similar to Gloria Estefan’s biographical musical, On Your Feet — but with a massive dose of Jennifer’s signature glamour,” Star explained, adding that Lopez would gladly move back to New York, where she wants the show to be played.

“Jennifer loves New York and is looking for an excuse to move there after she finishes her Las Vegas residency. She’s been looking for something new to sink her teeth into and is convinced that Broadway is her calling. She can’t wait to start casting.”

It shouldn’t be forgotten that, despite having lengthened her contract to remain in Vegas for another run with her popular residency, Jennifer Lopez is returning to NBC’s Shades of Blue for its second series later this year, which she is producing and starring in.

On top of that, Jennifer announced earlier this year that she’s signed a new record deal with L.A Reid’s Epic Records, adding that she’s already working on new music.

She teased fans in April with the release of the Meghan Trainor-penned song, “Ain’t Your Mama,” yet whether the track will be featured on the singer’s forthcoming album is still unclear.

The song received a mixed reaction over Dr. Luke’s involvement, the same producer who is currently facing a lawsuit by singer, Kesha, who has publicly accused the 42-year-old of raping her.

Needless to say, Jennifer Lopez is keeping herself busy with all the projects that she’s working on. Let it be known that a confirmation from Jennifer’s camp could be made as early as next month.
