Mysterious White Light UFO Spotted Over Black Rock Harbor In Bridgeport, Connecticut
A resident in Bridgeport, Connecticut, reports sighting a slow-moving UFO that sailed over Black Rock Harbor at very low altitude. The witness described the mysterious UFO, illuminated by bright white light, as a “walnut-shaped, slow, and low moving craft.”
According to the witness’s report, filed as Case 77451 in the database of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), the sighting occurred on July 2 at about 11 p.m.
The witness told MUFON that the UFO appeared as he was preparing to go fishing after a day of fireworks display in nearby Fairfield, presumably as part of preparation for the Fourth of July celebrations.
The witness said he fishes every night from April to January, and it gives him the opportunity to observe the night sky regularly, according to Open Minds TV.
“If it happens in the night sky, I see it — every moon, every meteor shower, every fireworks display.”
“The Fairfield fireworks had ended,” the witness stated in his testimony. “The crowd was thinning out. The boats had all come back in. It was time for me to go fishing. I live on Long Island Sound. I fish every night from April to January.”
As he prepared to go fishing, he sat facing the water conversing with two friends who stood in front of him with their backs to the water. As he looked up to speak to one of his companions, he noticed over the companion’s left shoulder a large, oval shaped object moving slowly in the sky.
The object was visible despite flying in a cloud of low hanging smoke — left by the day’s fireworks display — because it was illuminated by white light. The cloud of smoke obscured the UFO partially and made it look slightly blurred, yet clearly visible to the naked eyes.
“Two friends were standing up facing me with their backs to the water,” the witness said. “I looked up to engage one friend in conversation. Over her left shoulder I saw a rather large, slow-moving, oval-shaped craft. It was illuminated white. It was blurred because it was flying in low cloud cover or possibly smoke hanging in the air from the fireworks.”
The astonished witness watched the mysterious UFO as it sailed across the sky. It was visible for about 10 seconds, moving in the sky along the shoreline due south, before it disappeared in the low-hanging cloud of smoke.
“It traveled slow and would have been following the shoreline heading south,” he said.
“As I’m watching this thing, I’m going through the Rolodex in my brain sorting through memories and experiences and what I know already,” he said.
But he was unable to match the object with anything he had ever seen. He ruled out the possibly that it was an airplane or helicopter because unlike these familiar man-made aircraft, the UFO flew silently, and instead of normal navigation lights it produced bright white light that illuminated it brilliantly.
“Airplanes and helicopters have clear projected lights as well as red blinking lights,” he wrote. “They also create sound. This was illuminated white and silent.”
“There was no search and rescue that night. I eliminated everything I thought it could be based on my experiences.”
After the UFO disappeared, he wondered whether it was still lurking in the sky obscured by the clouds. He thought for a moment that a spotlight shined in the clouds could reveal it.
But he reconsidered the idea, reasoning that a spotlight would merely reflect off the cloud of smoke.
The witness reiterated that in more than two decades of living in Bridgeport, he had never seen a plane or helicopter faintly resembling the UFO he saw on the night of July 2.
MUFON said its representatives in Connecticut were investigating the baffling sighting.
