‘Pokémon GO’: Top Five Rarest Pokémon Available

Pokémon GO players have been trying to do whatever is possible to catch all the Pokémon they possibly can. It’s very hard to gauge where certain Pokémon will appear unless they are on the app’s radar. The game is basically designed to make people explore. The only way to find new Pokémon is to travel around and actually search while the app is open. Few Pokémon are classified as “rare” or difficult to catch. Here are the five rarest Pokémon currently available for capture.

Charizard

This is no surprise because Charizard has always been a fan favorite. Charizard is actually available for capture in Pokémon GO without having to evolve a Charmander. In the original Pokémon games, Charizard could not be caught. The only way to own a Charizard was to evolve Charmander to his final evolution. Neither route is easy to achieve playing Pokémon GO.

There have been reports of places where a wild Charizard is roaming, but none of them have been truly validated. There is yet to be a report or claim that someone has captured a wild Charizard with complete proof. In Flushing, New York, there is supposedly a Charizard flying around at Queens College only in the morning.

Any Eevee Evolution

The three Eevee evolutions are automatically considered rare even without being able to catch them outright. To have all three evolutions is very difficult to even come by. When a player has enough candy to evolve Eevee, it isn’t guaranteed what it will evolve into.

Pokémon GO players have supposedly figured out a way to try and manipulate an Eevee evolution. There is a rumor that you can guarantee which evolution of Eevee you can get just by simply changing the Pokémon’s name. The trick has been confirmed by hundreds of gamers on message boards. The key is to change the name of Eevee to either Pyro (for Flareon), Sparky (for Jolteon), and Rainer (for Vaporeon). The nicknames aren’t made up either, they follow an episode of the original Pokémon cartoon.

It would be much easier to catch one of the three outright. The feat is actually possible, and it almost caused a stampede at Central Park in New York City. There was a Vaporeon sighting that sparked hundreds of gamers to flock to the sight.

Lapras

Trying to find a Lapras isn’t the hardest thing in the world, but it definitely can’t be easy. There have been multiple reports of players catching a Lapras, so it can’t be too hard to find. The best location to search for a Lapras is probably by any body of water such as a pond, lake, or beach. In other words, you won’t find Lapras walking on a sidewalk of a city street.

The more simple way to obtain a Lapras is to hatch an egg that has one. There are a number of rare Pokémon that can be captured through hatching an egg. Again, Pokémon GO is forcing players to travel, so to find a “rare egg” would require a player to travel to multiple Pokéstops. A Pokéstop by a body of water is probably more than likely to bear a Lapras egg.

Aerodactyl

Aerodactyl is one of the rarest and strongest Pokémon in the game. The legendary Pokémon has been caught by gamers, and there are YouTube videos that prove it. Aerodactyl, like many of the other rare Pokémon, could also be hatched from an egg.

Aerodactyl’s whereabouts are unknown, there are no specific places to catch one. A terrain to keep in mind is probably anything elevated or rocky. For example, a hiking trail would be a good place to search. Aerodactyl could probably also be caught in any sort of nature reserves or parks.

Ditto

There haven’t been any known Ditto sightings as of yet. Ditto has the ability to transform himself into any Pokémon and mimic their attacks. Obviously, this feature is very rare and one of a kind. It also makes Ditto a very powerful Pokémon for battles. It’s safe to say that once more is known about this Pokémon, gamers will definitely find out. Pokémon GO is truly keeping gamers guessing with Ditto’s location.
