Senator Elizabeth Warren Rips Into Trump-Pence Ticket: ‘Two Small, Insecure, Weak Men’

Minutes before the scheduled appearance of Donald Trump to formally introduce Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate on Saturday, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren had her “day of rage” on Twitter, firing off a series of blistering attacks against the GOP presidential ticket.

The fiery senator unleashed a brutal tweetstorm minutes before the announcement of the GOP presidential ticket, calling Trump and Pence “two small, insecure, weak men.”

“Donald Trump And Mike Pence are a perfect match: Two small, insecure, weak men…”

And with the latest barrage from Senator Warren, it seems that she has found a new and perhaps vulnerable target in Pence, known for his hard-line conservative stance on social issues, such as abortion and LGBT rights.

Earlier this year, Pence signed one of the most restrictive abortion laws ever in the country. The law bars women from seeking abortion even if it is confirmed that the baby will be born with a severe disability, according to the New York Times.

In the series of blistering attacks on Twitter, Warren, known as a vocal supporter of abortion rights, declared that Trump and Pence were a “perfect match.”

She singled out Trump as a man “who calls women fat pigs and bimbos,” and described Pence as a man “famous for trying to control women’s bodies.”

According to Warren, the “sexism” of the two candidates does not represent the radical fringe of the party but its mainstream because “sexism” is “in line with the party platform.”

She described the idea of Pence as running mate to a presidential candidate as “terrifying.”

“What’s worse? Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s sexism isn’t some radical fringe of the GOP. They’re in line with the party platform.”

This is not the first time that Warren has attacked Trump in recent months. While delivering a speech at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s convention in June, she called Trump a “thin-skinned, racist bully,” NBC News reported.

Warren’s attack against Trump was apparently in response to Trump’s attack on the integrity of U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel in relation to the lawsuit over Trump University and Trump’s mocking comments about Warren’s claimed Native American heritage.

Trump has repeatedly challenged the Massachusetts senator to prove her Native American heritage and mocked her by calling her “Pocahontas,” according to the Washington Post.

“Donald Trump says he likes to see women on their knees,” she said. “Well, Donald, that’s not happening. Can you believe this guy? Democrats believe in equal pay for equal work and a woman’s right to decisions over her own body. And we’re ready to fight for it.”

“Now Trump University failed, and that’s no surprise,” she continued. “Think about all the other Trump failures. Trump casinos. Trump Airlines. Trump steaks. Trump magazines. Trump vodka. Trump Mortgage. Trump Games. Trump Travel. Trump Ice. Trump Network. Donald Trump is a proven businessman — a proven failure.”

The media speculated that Warren would not be named as Hillary Clinton’s running mate after she was invited earlier in the week to deliver an address on the first night of the Democratic convention.

New York Times pointed out that the slot is usually not reserved for vice presidential picks. And despite suggestions from the Clinton campaign that Warren is still on the shortlist, many analysts believe that Clinton is unlikely to pick her as running mate.

But it is expected that even if she does not emerge as Clinton’s running mate, she would continue to feature as a vocal anti-Trump attack dog, a role that she seems to relish.
