‘Days Of Our Lives’: Chad And Jennifer’s Custody Battle – Who Will Win Custody Of Baby Thomas? [Spoilers]

Days Of Our Lives fans are gearing up for summer and things are not going well for many residents of Salem. Abigail’s (Kate Mansi) disappearance isn’t all Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) will be dealing with. As seen on yesterday’s episode, Jennifer thinks Chad isn’t the right person to parent baby Thomas and is considering filing for custody. If Chad and Jennifer go to court, who will win the custody battle?

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Abigail Devereaux’s baby is currently without his mother. Instead of Shady Oaks getting Abby better, the Days Of Our Lives character seemed to become worse. Things really came to a head when Kate Mansi’s character started a fire and injured herself. Now, she has escaped the psychiatric facility and is nowhere to be found. Chad is beside himself with worry. Stefano DiMera’s son is also using all of his money and resources to find Abigail.

On yesterday’s episode of Days Of Our Lives, Jennifer Horton spoke to Chad. She tried to convince DiMera to let her take Thomas for a few days. However, Billy Flynn’s character was not interested in Jennifer’s offer. This is when Melissa Reeves’ character lost control and gave Chad a piece of her mind.

Toward the end of yesterday’s episode of Days Of Our Lives, Jennifer exaggerated the incident to Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Doug (Bill Hayes). Even though it is understandable why Jennifer would be a bit worried, Chad didn’t seem as if he were completely out of control. He is a man on a mission to find his missing wife, a woman who has mental health issues. Baby Thomas is being taken care of by Chad. When the father is busy, then Thomas’ nanny, Ciara Brady (Vivian Jovanni) takes over.

TV Source magazine published DOOL spoilers for this week. It states that Chad is spiraling downward. It is true that he became emotional and started lashing out, but that is a natural response to long-term stress. Nobody can deny that anyone would have a difficult time keeping everything under control considering the circumstances. However, when Jennifer told Doug and Julie that she was worried about what Chad would do, it seemed to be an exaggeration. What Jennifer may really want is to have Thomas to somehow replace Abigail on Days Of Our Lives.

With that being said, later in the episode, fans saw Chad start to break down. Perhaps the Days Of Our Lives spoilers are correct and Chad will end up losing control.

Even though Jennifer told Doug and Julie that she didn’t want to file for custody, that didn’t seem to exactly be true. For months, Melissa Reeves’ character has tried to take Thomas for the night, but Chad has refused. This is because the Days Of Our Lives character was an addict at the time. Even though Jennifer has been sober for a few months, that doesn’t mean she is ready to take on the responsibility of caring for a little one. Doug and Julie were right when they discussed how Jennifer’s recent history of prescription medication abuse could hurt her in court.

If the NBC soap opera were real life, a court would not take away a child for any reason. There has to be a real concern, something that proves Thomas is in danger or not being taken care of properly. However, this is not real life, but a television show, and anything is possible. With that being said, would Days Of Our Lives writers really take away baby Thomas? As Chad said, the little boy is the only thing that is keeping DiMera going right now. Taking away his child could lead to disastrous results and uncontrollable rage.

If Chad retains custody of baby Thomas, Days Of Our Lives fans can be sure that DiMera will make it nearly impossible for Jennifer to see her grandson again. With everything Chad is already going through, he really doesn’t need any more stress added to his plate.

What else can fans expect from Days Of Our Lives this week? According to Soap Central, Chad DiMera will hire Belle (Martha Madison) as his custody attorney. Also, Ciara will find herself in them middle of Chad and Jennifer’s war. This leads to Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) becoming increasingly concerned about her friend.

Other DOOL spoilers include Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) working on his plan to get revenge against Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), Theresa Donovan’s (Jen Lilley) past continues to be slapped in her face, and the young mother blames Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) for bringing Summer Townsend (Marie Wilson) into their lives. As for baby Tate, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will use his resources to find the kidnapped boy. Also, Days Of Our Lives spoilers state that Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) will use his own methods to locate his missing grandson.
