PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jeremih Release New Song Dubbed ‘Like Dat’

So it’s “Like Dat,” eh?

Jeremih and PARTYNEXTDOOR released a new song on OVOSOUND Radio on Saturday. The track has yet to be titled, but it has already been given the unofficial name of “Like Dat” by listeners, reports Rap Up. The song’s release comes shortly after the entertaining duo announced their plans to release a collaborative album, titled Late Night Party.

Jeremih and PARTYNEXTDOOR partnered with Lil Wayne to work on the single with production by Murda Beatz. The producer recently collaborated with Gucci Mane and Drake for their single “Back on the Road,” which was released last month. Lil’ Wayne contributes a verse to PARTYNEXTDOOR and Jeremih’s vocals, rapping “100 goons on the way/100 shots in your face/What you gon’ say?/Need to go into the safe.”

There is some speculation that “Like Dat” will be the lead song for Late Night Party. Jeremih and PARTYNEXTDOOR announced their upcoming album last month.

“A new album is coming out with me and PARTYNEXTDOOR called Late Night Party,” said Jeremih. “Y’all finna get that real soon and right after that, you’re gonna get the trilogy to Late Nate called Later That Night. I can’t wait ’till y’all hear that.”

Both Jeremih and PARTYNEXTDOOR have experienced recent success with several popular songs. PARTYNEXTDOOR has recently been in the news for his rumored romance with Kylie Jenner whose controversial relationship with former flame Tyga made headlines in entertainment news sites like People while they were together. Jenner starred in PARTYNEXTDOOR’s video “Come and See Me,” which debuted on Snapchat in June reports Billboard. The video shows the 23-year-old singer and the 18-year-old reality TV star kissing in the rain and engaging in PDA. The new video also features cameos from Drake, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, and Jenner’s sister, Khloe Kardashian.

Jeremih has also enjoyed success from a number of hits. He is well-known for his 2009 song Birthday Sex. More recently, he has released successful tracks like oui and Don’t Tell ‘Em featuring YG.

The upcoming album is eagerly awaited by fans who are anxious for a continuation of Jeremih’s Late Night which was released in 2015. Controversy surrounded the release of Late Night. The 28-year old singer was critical of Def Jam’s release strategy, calling out the apparent lack of his records in stores long after the album had been released according to Complex.

For devoted fans of the two singers news of the collaboration most likely wasn’t much of a surprise. A few months ago Jeremih shared a photo on Instagram of the two in studio, hinting at some kind of collaboration between the two artists.

Lil Wayne has also been keeping busy. The Louisiana rapper recently announced that he will be publishing the journal he kept while serving eight months of a year-long sentence in 2010. While in prison he maintained a website called Weezy Thanx You where he published letters and detailed his daily routine which included regular workouts and daily readings of the Bible. The upcoming book is titled Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island. It is set to hit bookstore shelves in October. The book was originally meant to be published in January, 2012, through Grand Central Publishing. It will now be published by Penguin.

The 33-year-old rapper has also kept busy with a number of collaborations and recently released a video game. In June, he was hospitalized after suffering from multiple seizures while on a flight from Milwaukee to California. His private jet was forced to land in Omaha, Nebraska. After refusing treatment, the rapper lost consciousness and was transferred to a local hospital.
