Hilary Duff On Juggling Work, Life, And Single Parenthood

Hilary Duff, best known for her childhood role as Lizzie McGuire, has recently opened up about how being a mom has changed her life drastically. According to Today, Hilary Duff believes that ever since she became a mom, she has found herself worrying constantly for her 4-year-old son Luca.

Luckily, in the eyes of the former Lizzie McGuire star, the change is for the better. Hilary Duff says that ever since Luca came into her life, she has drawn more joy out of every day, and feels that every aspect of her life has been heightened.

Being a mother is not all joys, however, as Hilary Duff feels the constant challenge that it brings to her, and she finds herself constantly worrying about Luca, mainly because she wants everything in his life to go perfectly.

It is clear that Hilary Duff enjoys being a parent, and she expressed that she is excited to go to the beach this summer with Luca. Swimming is a favorite activity for her son, and luckily, despite having gone through pregnancy and childbirth, the Cheaper by the Dozen actress is not worried about wearing a bikini.

Hilary still manages to stick with her fitness routine even while being a mother to Luca. According to Perez Hilton, Hilary Duff manages to stay fit and happy while being a working mom.

Hilary Duff spoke on her body after becoming a mom.

“I don’t care to look absolutely perfect in a bathing suit. I’m a normal girl. I’m strong. I’m fit. I feel good about myself after I’ve had a baby.”

She went on to admit that, like everyone else, she has her “ups and downs,” and some days she feels like she’s fit, while other days she feels that she’s “letting things slide a little.” Whichever way things go for her, Hilary expressed that she is “totally fine” with however she is feeling each day.

Her top priority in life right now is Luca. Hilary strives to become the best mother she can be to her son, and from all accounts, she is doing a good job.

Sometimes, not everything goes the way the former child star intends it to, and Hilary Duff expressed that she feels like she sometimes misses out on important moments in Luca’s life. According to Hello Magazine, Hilary Duff has struggled with her work-life balance ever since she finalized her divorce with Mike Comrie.

Hilary Duff spoke on how her relationship with Luca matters the most and even revealed some of her son’s favorite activities.

“I feel like I’m missing out a lot and it makes me really sad. The easiest way for me to really connect with him when I’ve had a crazy week is to unplug from all my devices. We love building Lego together. We love going to the park together. We play grocery store a lot. We scooter! I have a pink Razor scooter. So I’ve given up on all my coolness because he is like a speed demon on his Razor, and I can’t keep up!”

Hilary Duff lives with Luca in Los Angeles, but she misses the pace of her childhood upbringing. According to CNN, Hilary Duff believes that her hometown of Texas was a simpler place to raise a child.

And without his father being a constant in his life, Hilary Duff has had to rely on a support system of her own. Hilary Duff spoke on raising Luca and how her family helped in making it happen

“I am a single parent. I have a lot of support with my family and people I’ve had in my life a long time and who know my son. They help pick up the pieces when I can’t.”
